Brad Was Coy About His New Gig As KTLAs Mid-day Weatherman. True, It Was Somewhat Edgy. He Was The First

Brad was coy about his new gig as KTLAโ€™s mid-day weatherman. True, it was somewhat edgy. He was the first new hire in decades without big boobs and a chihuahua but Brad drew the line at trailblazing. Los Angeles had seen this before. It just finally presented the weather.

The package deal Brad fronted arguably presented itself. It also got the badly needed UPS weather segment sponsorship as well as an in with the makers of Viagra and the Bowflex.

The producers at KTLA were most pumped up at the prospect of a POV cam for live weather reports from Coachella, Stage Coach and White Party. They did tho express concern for those Brad would be โ€˜interviewingโ€™ given the inexplicable increase in risk for third arm induced black eye.

Brad was largely unfazed by all of it as he was already going to be at the festivals, and the new job simply meant he was getting paid as a host in addition to being a gogo dancer. He also had years of maneuvering experience under his belt which quelched much of the producers initial worry regarding the size of his whoo-ha.

Thatโ€™s not to say the new gig didnโ€™t throw Brad a few curve balls. For one, he was surprised to learn the local forecast got super gimmicky because there was essentially no weather to report in Southern California. He also had no idea โ€˜quelchedโ€™ and โ€˜whoo-haโ€™โ€™ werenโ€™t words.

What really threw Brad for a loop was the use of quotes with the word โ€˜interviewingโ€™ by his new co-workers. The practice also confounded his boyfriend Chris. Interviewing was a real word!

So. Posting schedules. Funny things, right? Well, I was trying to stick to one for my social media and then I got a job. From today forward, I will be posting only on my days off which are inconsistent but should be twice a week. Thank you.

With love, Nova

FIRST DAY AT WORK TIPS

A few tips Ive gathered over the years starting many new jobs, and being a manager. Works for either career jobs or beginner jobs.

FIRST DAY AT WORK TIPS

1- You're barely starting, they don't have much expectations already. Be polite, be graceful, do everything your best possible. Stuff can go wrong obvs, but try to extract the lessons from the problems and move ON.

2- The beginning is the BEST time to ask questions. A good manager would be actually happy you're asking questions, because it demonstrates you want to do well. Ask ask ask ask questions. Don't be shy. Bring a small notebook + pencil to note down important information, this small detail BOOSTS your image. Arrive PREPARED, as much as you possibly can be. To not appear like you haven't listened, repeat a crucial related information, then ask the question. "I know that we have to insert the customer name there, and never forget to add the code, what if [special case] happens, what should I do?" It makes you look like you're very intentional and seeking to be your best ever. .

3- If they hired you, it means they know you can make it. You have the basics to be able to do the job. Otherwise it would've been a waste of energy and time for everyone, no? Trust that they selected the best candidate for the work (aka you).

4- The first few months are the most tiring and rough. So many new faces, new things to learn, new routines, etc. Try to ride it out, try to establish a nice healthy routine at work and around work, and obvs don't neglect your self-care that will make you spin down from the accumulated stress. Do not neglect your health & wellbeing routine.

5- If the job fails, no worry, brush up your CV and start sending more and more of those CVs to jobs. Make it a daily habit until you're fully HIRED. Do not fret over being fired or having to quit (because shitty jobs do exist), move on, move on, move on!!

Vet jobs as you would with potential husbands. Pays well, treats well, is mindful of your time and limitations, etc.

Lost Follow-Up

I got a new job!! I got the phone call this morning. It wasn't my number one choice but it was in my top three. The best part is that I will have job security and their health plan and PTO are amazing. I will finally be able to get my life back on track and get caught up financially within the next couple of months.

Today Was My First Day Working At Starbucks, And I Had A Blast! I Obviously Took The Obligatory "Before

Today was my first day working at Starbucks, and I had a blast! I obviously took the obligatory "Before I Leave for the First Day" selfie, and I took a picture of all my lovely reading material I received =3 My coworkers are sweet, fun, sassy, smart people, and, the woman training me is a total sweetheart! I'm so excited for this opportunity! I want to do well, not only for myself, and for the customers, but, also, because I want to represent Starbucks to the best of my ability. Many of my followers have been encouraging me and cheering me on; thank you SO much for the support and kind words. You guys make a huge difference =D

So, apparently, once you start working, all you want to do with your free time is lay down in quiet, dark places, and do nothing...
