noah kahan: to know me is to hate me is to hate what iâve become
me, eating kettle corn and reading fanfiction: fuck yeah
hc that Sam loves Noah Kahan, and that's what he was listening to with the iPod in the Impala when Dean was in purgatory. specifically Everywhere, Everything because he feels like that's his song to Dean.
she calls me back
(Title from Noah Kahan song, obv. Even though itâs like very tangentially related.)Â
Uhhhh I dunno, cutesy little autumn vibes drabble. Context for said drabble is neither my monkey nor my problem. I havenât written fanfiction in like seven years so please forgive me if Iâm rusty, trying to tap back into my tweenhood whims idk to be cringe is to be free and all that jazz. Enjoy :-)

The early autumn wind whipped through the platform as the train pulled into the station. Loid held onto Anyaâs hand tightly to prevent her from running off in such a crowded and dangerous place. His mind raced, and anxiety rolled off him in waves. Anya clung to his hand, no doubt feeding off her fatherâs anxiety.Â
With his free hand, Loid handed Yor her suitcase. She took it with a small smile.Â
âHave a safe trip,â He returned the smile, but she could tell he was tense. He always was when they were separated.
She planted a kiss on his cheek. âDonât worry about me. We both know I can handle myself perfectly fine.â
Loid relaxed, albeit marginally. âOf course. Iâve been on the receiving end of your self-defense tactics. Anyone who threatens you has another thing coming.âÂ
Anya tugged at the hem of his sweater, and Loid picked her up and settled her on his hip. She looked dreadfully close to tears, which only made Loid more nervous. Over a year of parenting, and he still wasnât very good with the comforting part.Â
Luckily, Yor was. She gently tapped the tip of Anyaâs nose with her index finger. âYou donât need to worry about me either, little one. Youâre lucky Loid is staying with you, or youâd have to put up with my cooking.â
Anya smiled at that. âMama is a bad cook.â
Before Yor could reply in mock offense, the train whistle blew.
âYouâd better get going, dear,â Loid said, âOr youâll miss your train.â
âYouâre right,â Yor kissed Anyaâs forehead and gave Loid a quick peck before turning to approach the train.Â
Loid caught her hand and pressed his lips to her knuckles. âCall me when you arrive, I want to know you got there safely.â
Yorâs cheeks were dusted pink. Even after actually being married (or what everyone else interpreted as them renewing their vows), she still wasnât quite used to all the casual affection Loid gave her.Â
But still, she promised, âI wouldnât dream of doing anything else first.â
Noah Kahanâs music touches a deep part of my soul. Not just because it sounds good (because letâs be honest it sounds amazing) but because his lyrics are truly poetry and it makes so many people with so many different backgrounds and experiences feel seen and understood in a way that not many musicians can while also staying truthful to himself. His lyrics are the truth and even through songs where he talks about things he went through, his mistakes, (ex. Dial Drunk) heâs still honest, he doesnât sugar coat things or try to paint himself in a different light which is one of the reasons why his music is so good. People can relate to something that is human, mistakes and anger and grief and that empty feeling he addresses in so many of his songs, is human. Anyway Iâm probably not explaining this well but I love Noah Kahan and if you havenât heard of him go check him out please heâs awesome :)

reblog w the song lyrics in your head NOW. either stuck in yr head or what yr listening to
noah kahan really said growing up in a small, bitter hometown is about the rage and the hatred that's been sung about many times before but it's also about love and devotion and the 'all three of us were drowning and we didn't know how to save each other but there was an understanding that we were all drowning together' of it all and knowing people so intimately yet not being able to help anyone and he's morally grey at best in a lot of his songs and objectively the bad guy in others and that's just how it is and it's about substance abuse and normalised crime and teen suicide and country roads and failed exams and leaving and being left and love and hate and love and hate and love and
