Reflection (Dazai x Reader)

Reflection (Dazai X Reader)

A/N: Sorry for being so inactive, I’ve had a lot of family issues lately and have had to tend to that. My sister is very sick right now. This is a Dazai x reader fic where Dazai falls first and harder (yes we’re being delulu). Y/N will use fem pronouns. No NSFW

Nostalgia was a familiar feeling to Dazai whenever he visited the Lupin Bar. He saved the visit for special days and times he was feeling especially alone. He was used to being alone, so all though the death of Odasaku hurt him, it was nothing different to his life of despair. However, he did have Y/N.

He remembered when he first met you during his dark days. Oda had recently deceased when he went for his last drink at the Lupin Bar as a Port Mafia executive. Thats when he ran into a beautiful girl around his age. He remembered thinking that there was no way for you two to meet again, for you were so innocent, bright, and hard-headed. Then when he joined the Armed Detective Agency, he caught your sparkling eyes that were so full of light. A part of him hoped that was fate.

Now here he was once again, drinking his feelings down with bitter whisky. He left a note on your desk earlier that day asking you to meet him here. He wanted to see that beautiful face of yours. You were always so eager to oblige to his silly requests and always checked on him throughout the day. He feared the feeling you invoked inside of him.

As he began to get lost in his thoughts, he heard the small door chime and light footsteps. He felt a smile plaster his face as he turned to look at you. You were still in your work clothes and looked a bit rough. However he found that your tired and effortless look embellished your beauty.

“Well, well. How are you bella’? Decided to hit the bar, didn’t you?”

Dazai’s smooth voice echoed in the small bar. He spoke with his usual dramatic tone and gestured for Y/N to sit next to him.

Y/N shook her head and smiled slightly as she took a seat by the man and ordered some whiskey. Dazai watched her every move, analyzing every possible detail he could. The dim lighting and soft jazz enhanced the adrenaline of being alone with you.

“You act like you didn’t specifically ask to meet me here. Or did you really forget that easily?”

Y/N teased the man beside her. She knew he was merely messing with her by acting oblivious to why she was here. She had known him for so long and thats she barely fell for his teasing anymore. Dazai chuckled at her question but didn’t respond. Y/N looked around the bar, her distant memory of the place being replenished. She had a feeling he hadn’t been in a while either, which piqued her curiosity.

“Why are we here?”

Y/N asked him, wondering if he had something planned or if he just felt like visiting. She knew his nature was unpredictable. Though a part of her found excitement in that.

Dazai chuckled at her question, leaving her momentarily more confused. He took another sip of his drink before answering.

“Why else would we be here? The drinks, of course.”

He answered in his own casual tone while leaning towards the table. It was obvious he was itching around the truth, not being used to opening up to others. His gaze turned somewhat cold when he finally regarded you, knowing you would only continue to ask if he lied.

“You could say I’m doing a bit of ‘reflection’ too…”

He said as he tapped the crystal ball in his drink. Y/N simply chuckled when he eventually added to his response. He always tried lying to her like he did with others but she was very persistent. Something about her made him want to spill his heart out. Or maybe it was just the alcohol working in his system. Though Y/N understood what he meant when he said he was reflecting. She had known him since those days after all.

“I think reflection is the main reason you came here.”

She commented, calling out his lies and attempts to downplay the truth. However, she knew not to press it too much. The past was a sensitive subject after all.

“It’s funny. This is the same place I met the most impactful people of my life.”

Dazai said as he looked forward with an expression of reminiscent. Y/N assumed he was only talking about Oda and Ango. It barely grazed her mind that she could be one of those people. Before the conversation could get any deeper, Dazai spoke again, interrupting the intensity of his past.

“Well then, how was your day? Boring, I presume?”

He asked, wanting to know more about you, even if it was small details. He always downplayed his questions, making it seem like he didn’t care as much as he did. Y/N smiled and thought about her day.

“It was fine.”

Normally she would’ve said more, and would engage more enthusiastically. Though today, her mind was reeling, specifically about Dazai. He was being so confusing lately and sending many mixed signals. She knew she had to ask him about it, even if she knew he would try and dodge it.

“I actually have been wanting to ask how you have been. You seem off recently.”

Y/N asked, concern hinted in her voice. Dazai’s eyes briefly widened, as if he was found her comment amusing. He couldn’t fathom the fact that someone like her would ever spend her time worrying over him.

“Of course, I’m perfectly fine.”

That familiar, charming smile embraced Y/N, though today, it seemed more forced than usual. In truth, Dazai was also reeling over her. Y/N didn’t like it, the silence and the unspoken words.

“Ugh… Osamu.”

Her voice came out soft and genuine. It wasn’t often she said his first name, she had only said it a few rare times.

“Why can’t you understand that I care for you?”

She would be met with silence after that, as Dazai had no idea how to respond. How could someone like her care for damaged goods like him? Though that same confusion had lately conquered his mind, forcing him to furthermore explore his feelings. He knew he felt something similar for her, but he dared not give it a name; labels were dangerous.

After what felt like a lifetime, Y/N finally sat up with a sigh. If he wasn’t going to address anything, then she wasn’t going to entertain him longer. She bid a quiet farewell and “see you tomorrow”, before starting to head towards the door. As her hand caught hold of the handle, Dazai called her name. Her eyes met his warm, dark eyes.

Dazai thought of Oda. His first friend and the reason why he left the Mafia, now dead. It was silly but Dazai always blamed himself. Everything was his fault. He wanted to tell you how he felt, he truly wanted to. But seeing your bright eyes that were so full of light, ones that he would only ruin, deterred him once more.

“Goodnight”

Warnings : Mentions Of Ab*seBSD BEAST/BSD Spoilers (???)

✧ dont know if this counts as anything but: odasaku wasnt dazais father figure—and as much as i hate to say this: mori was.

the toxicity of dazai? his never ending list of red flags??? the root of it all is mori, because he ‘raised’ dazai; not odasaku. mori took dazai under his wing and influenced him—shaped him into who he is.

all in hopes of dazai becoming a spectacular, one of a kind mafia member, if not the next boss; mori himself speculated that he wouldnt be shocked if dazai were to assassinate him and take his place as the next port mafia boss back in dark era.

…(at age 23 to be precise—dazai is 22 in the canon and current timeline—dazai rejoins pm agenda WILL become reality)

even in 15, when dazai asked mori “who do i remind you of?” (correct me if i quoted it wrong my memory is shittier than a gold fish with dementia)

mori responds with “myself”.

odasaku couldve been the healthy father figure, but that doesnt mean that he actually was. (even though that i desperately wanted him to be…)

so, if dazai was found by odasaku and not mori, then yeah, our sonny boy wouldnt have turned out to be so fucked up. but unfortunately, that isnt the case…

though shoutout to beast for feeding into my delusions! because if there are multiple universes with multiple different outcomes, that means that at least in one of them, odasaku found dazai before mori did!!!

no worries guys!!! dazai is taken good care of in at least one universe out there!!! (head in hands, shinji sitting pose…)

and to end this debate with a lil something, mori and dazais dynamic reminds me of the saying:

“The abused becomes the abuser”.

This is why I hate the debate of Dazai would choose Oda over Chuuya. Would he really? because I feel like without Chuuya he wouldn't even have considered Oda request.

Oda's request would have just proved Dazai's (suicidal) point that life means nothing, that it doesn't matter what side you're on, or whether you're a good or bad person.

But since Chuuya made him WANT to live, is why he considered that request, because Dazai knows that life isn't completely meaningless, Chuuya showed him that.

Because Chuuya showed Dazai that life is somewhat worth living, that makes it easier for Dazai to consider oda's request, because it wasn't about just doing good because there no meaning, it's about finding more meaning in the thing that you never considered exploring.

For all we know Dazai's life has been bad to say something, Chuuya was a highlight of the little good he had in his life and was a beacon of the present good in it, while oda's request was casting light on the possible good in the future.

So to reiterate, Dazai wouldn't choose Oda over Chuuya, because without Chuuya, Dazai wouldn't have been alive to meet him, much less care about him or Ango.

The same way that Chuuya wouldn't choose the Mafia over Dazai, if force to pick between the two Chuuya would pick Dazai without second thought, Chuuya would destroy the world and himself for Dazai. Chuuya may be loyal to the Mafia but his loyalty lays with Dazai.

And Dazai may have left the Mafia and followed Oda's dying wish, but Dazai never risks Chuuya, Dazai is willing to let Oda's wish burn with the world for Chuuya. Hell Dazai was ready to let Yokohama get destroyed just to prove that Chuuya human, why would Dazai care that Chuuya human? Because Chuuya cares about whether or not he's human, so it matters to Dazai.

Dazai is Chuuya's humanity, and Chuuya wants so desperately to be human, Dazai ability is truly a gift to him, and one he adores full heartedly

Chuuya is Dazai's reason to live, not much to say to it, Chuuya highlights the good that Dazai struggles too see, he makes Dazai consider things he thought useless, and he lets Dazai feel more comfortable in the fact that his existence doesn't have to have meaning. (And Chuuya ability is something that Dazai finds beauty in, it something he finds mesmerizing to the point where he can just stop and stare and just forget about all the bad things even for just a moment)

___________________________________

Tldr: Oda just gave him something to fill his need for a meaning to life and living, while Chuuya makes him not care/think about whether life needs meaning or not to live.

Chuuya made Dazai want to live.

Oda made Dazai want to change.

Oda Didn’t Understand Dazai: An Opinion By Me

Oda Didnt Understand Dazai: An Opinion By Me

@catboychuuuya wanted me to elaborate on that bit in my Soukoku post about Odasaku not really understanding Dazai. I aim to please, so here I am.

Let’s begin

Part A: Buraiha Trio

Oda wasn’t necessarily a bad friend. He just didn’t really know what to do with Dazai. I actually think Ango was both a better friend toward, and had a better understanding of, Dazai (Oda pushed Dazai toward the light, but Ango was the reason he got to stay there).

Oda decided that Dazai should live in the light, but I think Ango always thought he belonged there. Like he knew that Dazai had the potential to be good.

In the prologue of the Dark Era light novel, Ango is the one truly bothered by Dazai’s apathy and suicidal tendencies. Oda has very mild reactions to all of it. Dazai is basically crying out for help, and Oda’s reactions are very indulgent (kind of “that’s nice, sweetie”).

"'Oh yeah, I created a new hot-pot recipe. Would you guys be up to trying it next time we hang out? I call it the 'superhuman stamina pot.' You can run for hours without getting tired after eating it. It’s a dream of a—'

'Not in a million years,' Ango sternly declined.

'If it keeps you from getting tired, then it might be pretty useful before a hard day's work,' I added.

'…Odasaku, that's exactly the problem right there. You're enabling Dazai. You don't speak up, and that's why he goes off the rails.'

I see. So this was what Ango meant by 'enabling' him. You learn something new every day."

Now, again, Oda was not a bad person or friend. It’s normal to joke around with your friends. But also, I think it’s pretty clear (Particularly in Storm Bringer and the Dark Era) that Dazai was genuinely struggling in the mafia. He was extremely unhappy.

Another problem with Oda is that he put Dazai on a pedestal like almost everyone else in the mafia (exceptions are Chuuya and Ango for sure).

"No matter what he did, Dazai seemed to reach heights that normal people couldn’t."

The difference between Odasaku and the rest of the mafia is that Dazai greatly admired Odasaku. He admired his belief system and resolve. That’s why I think it’s so sad that Oda didn’t really understand Dazai, because Dazai took Oda’s word as gospel.

There’s one last quote from the prologue that I want to talk about:

"We had a saying in the Port Mafia: 'The greatest misfortune for Dazai’s enemies is that they are Dazai’s enemies.' If he wanted to, he could even have a picnic in the middle of a firefight. Dazai was practically born to be in the Mafia."

This is the first case where I think it’s clear that Oda has a fundamental misunderstanding of Dazai.

Dazai was not born to be in the mafia. He was groomed to be in mafia by Mori. Mori picked him because he was an extremely intelligent, yet directionless child. I think we all spend so much time thinking of Dazai as a puppet master that we forget that he is also capable of being manipulated himself.

Dazai is eighteen during the Dark Era. Eighteen. He’s a teenager. He’s not a mastermind. He’s a lost kid in desperate need of guidance. He spent four incredibly formative years of his life suffering under Mori’s thumb (One before officially joining the mafia, three after). Odasaku was Dazai’s hope, someone he could look to instead of Mori. He wanted to be like him so badly.

Part B: Something to Live For

“Odasaku…,” Dazai said softly. “Forgive me for the absurd wording, but—don’t go. Find something to rely on. Expect good things to happen from here on out. There’s gotta be something…”

Yeah, you read that right. Dazai just presented an optimistic outlook on life.

He’s speaking to someone who has just lost his main purpose in being in the mafia, taking care of those orphans. Yet, he’s begging him to find a new reason to live anyway.

Part C: Last Words

That brings me to Odasaku’s final moments.

“‘You won’t find it,’ Odasaku said in almost a whisper. Dazai stared at him. ‘You should know that. Whether you’re on the side that takes lives or the side that saves them, nothing beyond your own expectations will happen. Nothing in this world can fill the hole that is your loneliness. You will wander the darkness for eternity.’”

Okay, so, Odasaku is right that Dazai won’t find purpose in the darkness, but he’s wrong about why. Dazai is not an empty person incapable of happiness. Even though Dazai thinks this means that Odasaku understood him well, we can’t forget that Dazai doesn’t really understand himself. His feelings. His mind. Dazai genuinely believes that nothing can make him happy, but he’s wrong and the consequences to Oda’s words are huge.

Now, Dazai thinks he’s a villain pretending to be hero. He thinks he’s inherently empty. WHICH IS WRONG.

Think about why Dazai went to Oda’s side in the first place. Because Oda was his friend. Dazai put his personal feelings first in that situation, and he does that more often than people tend to notice. He’s actually motivated by emotions a lot.

During Storm Bringer, Dazai basically moves Heaven and Earth to stop Verlaine and keep Chuuya in the mafia.

“‘I joined the Mafia because of an expectation I had. I thought if I was close to death and violence—close to people giving in to their urges and desires, then I would be able to see the inner nature of humankind up close. I thought if I did that…’ Dazai paused before continuing, ‘…I would be able to find something—a reason to live.’”

We have to remember who prompted Dazai to think that, Chuuya. An idea born from Dazai’s relationship to another person, not the idea itself, was what made him join the mafia.

Ranpo is definitely autistic coded, but so is Dazai. Since No Longer Human was extremely influential on BSD, and that novel has a lot of autobiographical elements in it, it makes sense that Dazai seems autistic. After reading No Longer Human myself, I really do think that Osamu Dazai (the author) was autistic. Yōzō’s (the protagonist of No Longer Human) behavior is very autistic. I mean, at one point, he describes masking verbatim.

I’m mentioning this because I think that what Dazai hopes to understand is not a reason to live itself, but other people’s motivation to live. It’s an extension of the very autistic feeling of alienation from other people. Dazai thinks there’s something wrong with him because despite caring about other people a lot, he has trouble understanding their illogical behavior. He also struggles to understand his own illogical behavior.

I also think this is why Oda struggles to understand Dazai. Because people who aren’t autistic usually struggle to understand autism. Autistic people often get profiled as ‘sociopaths’ (an outdated term that refers to Antisocial Personality Disorder) and are seen as emotionless monsters.

Dazai distances himself from other people as a defense mechanism. In his own words, “I always lose the things I don’t want to lose the most. That’s why I don’t feel anything anymore. The moment you get your hands on something worth going after, you lose it. That’s just how things are. There is nothing worth pursuing at the cost of prolonging a life of suffering.” I think that indicates that he cares very much about the people in his life, but that he also lives in constant fear of losing them.

Conclusion

I don’t know how well I articulated any of this (I’m neurodivergent, can you tell?), but my point is that Odasaku took a lot about Dazai at face value, instead of trying to peel back the layers and understand him as a person. He ended up dehumanizing Dazai a bit in the process.

Dazai is far from perfect, but he’s also not inhuman.

I think about this quote from Atsushi a lot, “People need to be told they’re worthy of being alive by someone else or they can’t go on.” Like, what would have happened if someone told Dazai his life was worth living even without some grand purpose?

Hot take: Oda was wrong.

Oda's dying words to Dazai,

"nothing beyond what you would expect will appear. Nothing in this world can fill that lonely hole you have. You will wander in darkness for eternity.”

are presented to us as an irrevocable truth, because Oda is Dazai's only friend, he claims to be the only one who understands him.

Oda uses this to convince Dazai to become a "good man", and through that, fulfill Oda's dream to not kill anymore; to become a good person.

And as the audience—people who are attached to these characters, and people who've seen Oda purely through Dazai's eyes (as an older brother, father-type mentor; someone who Dazai greatly respects and adores), we believe Oda as well.

We witness the scene that is tainted by Dazai's emotions from the start, we feel his doubt and despair. You put yourself in his shoes to really experience the story to the fullest.

This is also the reason why we lose the ability to think it through.

Yes, Dazai's life looks pretty bad, then.

But he is also depressed and su*cidal, he cannot be expected to get out of it all on his own. Of course he'd hold onto his best friends last words like a lifeline. And not only "to become a good man", but also "you will never find happiness".

So to sum it all up, Oda might have thought he was right—might have been right—but only when it came to PM Dazai.

ADA Dazai has a lot of potential, and could learn to want to live again if only he had more support.

Heyyy 🥰

Okay okay, a thought: Dazai has a similar mind to Mori's, but the day Oda dies he decides to let his emotions influence his decisicion. Which means he's actually a highly emotional person, right? But what if part from his great suffering comes from him not being able to UNDERSTAND all his emotions. What if he has a sky-high analytical intelligence and is therefore skilled at deciphering other peoples' emotions, but can't seem to understand and hence accept himself?

Summary: Dazai is an highly emotional person? And his intense emotions are what is causing his suffering?

Ooo this is a very interesting thought Jade!!😌

Mori and Dazai are definitely quite similar, they are complex and intelligent characters that are seemingly logic driven with the tendency to look at the whole picture of a situation!

But I actually do highly agree with you that Dazai is actually a highly emotional person🤔 I have always felt that about him. But I don't believe that I have enough evidence to support my claim unfortunately, at least canonical evidence, but I will still talk about my thoughts below cause I’ve been thinking about this a lot. But my belief is actually opposite to yours, I believe that his suffering comes from being too sensitive to his emotions and understanding and feeling them too deeply. But I would love to hear your thoughts as well after reading this!

We can see this with Oda of course, as you’ve said! The fact that Oda's words and his death alone is able to drive him out of the mafia, despite not really knowing about what the future could hold and all the uncertain factors that could happen if he left the mafia, somewhere where he is extremely familiar with to one that is unpredictable kinda shows that he is an emotional person. Because this is definitely not a rational decision, and as you said one driven by emotions.

Another thing that I think might have actually shown that he may actually be, originally, an emotional person is that he numbs himself of emotions. Yes perhaps it may seen paradoxical, but sensitive people are actually more prone to suffering from emotional numbness surprisingly, or so I've read. Because it is in human nature to defend against pain, and with emotional sensitive and intense people, it is extremely easy to be able to feel everything around them. And I personally believe Dazai is actually a sensitive person (I will talk about why I feel this more later), and this coupled with his high intelligence is extremely self destructive to him.

This is because as you said he has a sky-high analytical intelligence, I mean he is able to at a young age of 15/14 to understand the idea that there is no point in the act of living. He is able to see the deepest truth in life, and a knowledge of the universe beyond our common understanding that some of us are not even able to comprehend in a lifetime, thus showcasing his absolutely high analytical ability. But the understanding of the hopelessness of the world, and the lack of a meaning in living in this life is what is hurting him the most, especially if he is extremely sensitive. This would explain his utter hopelessness and emptiness he feels. Also may explain why his emotions are stunted or seemingly so, as it may actually be his own mind using it as a self-defense mechanism to prevent further sources of pain and suffering.

This can also be supported by a quote from Dazai-sensei himself in one of the short stories from Blue Bamboo (I believe it is The Samurai and the Mermaid) which says “how I envy those self-satisfied commoners who, seeing nothing and comprehending nothing are convinced they know it all. There are in this world things of such mysteries and awesome beauty that the small minded cannot even imagine them. There are, yet he who discovers them risk falling into a bottomless hell”.

Him being highly emotional could also explain why he is such a good strategist, as we’ve seen throughout the anime. Dazai in his plans doesn’t simply manipulate people to do what he wants them to do, I’m not saying he doesn’t because it can definitely be seen that he does in a few different cases. But in a lot of scenarios especially in his long term plans, we actually also see him predicting how other people will react to different situations presented to them rather than him guiding them like pawns on a chessboard to establish his plans. (Prime example of this is his plan with Chuuya in Dead Apple).

So the main question you may be asking right now then is probably, where did the assumption that he is emotionally sensitive come from in the first place then? I have this assumption because Dazai-sensei himself is a very emotionally sensitive person, this can also be observed in No Longer Human as well.

One of the quotes from No Longer Human that could support this is “The weak fear happiness itself. They can harm themselves on cotton wool. Sometimes they are wounded even by happiness”. You can also see it subtly in this quote "For someone like myself in whom the ability to trust others is so cracked and broken that I am wretchedly timid and am forever trying to read the expression on people's faces”. The fact that he is always trying to read the expression on other people’s faces shows that he fears rejection, and is extremely anxious about how other people see him and view him, but also at the same time craves acceptance.

“I have always shook with fright before human beings. Unable as I was to feel the least particle of confidence in my ability to speak and act like a human being, I kept my solitary agonies locked in my breast. I kept my melancholy and my agitation hidden, careful lest any trace should be left exposed. I feigned an innocent optimism; I gradually perfected myself in the role of the farcical eccentric.” Here’s another quote from No Longer Human, once again fearing and is extremely anxious of what others think about him and seems to be sensitive to criticism and being called out as an outsider, and being different, and the mask that he wears is actually a defense mechanism used to protect himself.

Of course No Longer Human is not the only source that shows Dazai-sensei’s sensitivity. Other short stories have also showcases similar themes such as this. His short story 《候鳥》 I wasn't able to find the English equivalent wrote 「太敏感的人會體諒到他人的痛苦,自然就無法輕易做到坦率。所謂的坦率,其實就是暴力。」 It means people who are too sensitive can understand the pain of others, naturally they are unable to be frank. For "frankness" is equivalent to violence.

I also remember somewhere it talked about Dazai-sensei being too anxious to visit someone as well and was pacing outside of their house? I don't remember where I read it though and I can't find it again😭

Therefore from these many examples, I have a few that Dazai is actually a sensitive person judging by how much he is also described as such in other articles; and Yozo as well in academic journals and articles I have read.

And so I believe that he may be able to feel emotions quite deeply, not only that but also understand the world deeply as well. And it is this deep understanding that is the source of his despair, his difference from other humans, because they are not able to understand him on that level. It is actually the fact the he might be too human that he ceased to become human. But the reason why I am still thinking about whether or not this is true is mainly because how he treated Akutagawa, which I feel doesn’t really fit this idea.

Hiya! It's been a bit since I've done fic prompts so here are a few today. These are from Bungo Stray Dogs which is new ik. Also a fun fact yesterday was my birthday. I'm not liking the responsibility and expectations that come with this age lmao. Oh, some of these have probably already been done but 🤷

What if the ADA switches places with the Port Mafia?

Oda is killed by someone different who had a grudge against him. Maybe they have a time rewinding ability? Idk but Oda didn't kill them sadly.

And instead of making his dying wish for Dazai to be a good person he asks him to avenge him and his kids.

And Dazai agrees...

They all have practically the same personalities (and abilities) just the Mafia who are now ADA aren't straight up murderous.

Just imagine the ADA commiting crimes

Like Ranpo coming up with the strategies, Kunikida as an executive, Yosano as an executive, Fukuzawa being a mafia boss, Junichiro being an assassin who is always up for murder, Naomi being a secretary who knows how to fight but is severely underestimated, and KENJI BEING IN THE MAFIA

Oh, mori isn't a pedo bc I think if Chuuya got to be the good guy he wouldn't let that slide.

Yosano still has the same backstory but maybe mori was a bit better but still felt pressure from war and the higher ups and stuff idk

Beast!Atsushi kinda idk if it would be Beast!Dazai sooo

Beast!Akutagawa but Chuuya is his mentor and Higuchi is like his partner. Kinda like Kunikida and Dazai

Chuuya used to be in the Port Mafia

Idk how or why Fukuzawa became the mafia boss???

Gin is in the ADA too

I think Tachihara would still have to be in the mafia?? Or maybe bc the ADA is always bumping heads with mafia that it would still be a place where he can gather info. Maybe the ADA is also under suspicion for something??

Idk wtf Hirotsu or Kouyou would be doing at the ADA tbh

Chuuya and Ango still have beef

What if Nakajima Atsushi tried to run away from the orphanage? Way before he was kicked out. What if Oda Sakunosuke found him?

Oda would have Atsushi stay where the other orphans were living.

Atsushi would also have a job at that diner or whatever it is.

And then he would help babysit his fellow little orphans whenever they arrived.

Atsushi saved the kids but he got hurt and lost control of his ability. He killed some of the Mimic members before passing out to heal from the bullet wounds. The tiger has never had to heal from anything so severe before. So, as the tiger had control she made him hide until he healed.

Oda finds him though with the help of the kids.

Idk what else :/

X-Files Crossover

Dazai Osamu as Fox Mulder and Nakahara Chuuya as Dana Scully.

Kunikida Doppo can be one of Mulder’s alien hunter friends or maybe two Scullys??

Atsushi and Akutagawa could be newbie agents that were assigned to the X-Files

Katai would definitely be one of the alien hunter friends

I don't think abilities should exist but if you could spin it in a good way go for it

Yosano could be a doctor or former doctor turned dominatrix friend that Dazai has

Ranpo could join the X-Files bc normal cases are boring or he could be an alien hunter friend

Fyodor is an alien

Sigma was abducted by aliens and doesn't remember anything from before

Chuuya had been abducted by aliens as a child but doesn't remember it. And thinks he was kidnapped by regular old people and hit his head or trauma blocked it out

Ango and Oda can either be higher-ups or alien hunter friends

Higuchi is a fellow newbie

Gin is in college or something
