Tatooine - Tumblr Posts
Ion Zee was born of a strange race of aliens that are forbidden by law to leave their home planet. She escaped when she was 18 and lives in constant paranoia that the military will find her on Tatooine and bring her back.
Ion: “Hey, what are you doing?! This is private property!
??: “Sorry! I didn’t know anyone lived here, it looks abandoned. Wait.. You’re from Binary too? I never thought I’d see another Binaryan way out here!” Ion: “Please, just go away. I don’t like visitors.” ??: “Hey, was that a real time machine back there?” Ion: “Ugh, since you clearly aren’t going to leave me alone, why don’t we at least go inside...”
Sometimes I write little backstories stories for my sims... teehee
Ion: “So how did you get away from Binary?” Photon: “When I was a baby my parents stole an escape pod and put me in it so I could have a normal life away from that place. I landed on Tatooine and have been here fending for myself every since. I don’t know what happened to them for it. How about you?” Ion: “I stowed away on a merchant ship that brought me here. They still don’t know I left and I’m constantly hiding in fear they will find me.” Photon: “You don’t need to hide. Tatooine isn’t even in the same galaxy as Binary. I’ve been here my whole life and they never found me. Let me get you out of your house tonight.” Ion: “I guess you’re right. I don’t know if I’ll be able to handle it, though.” Photon: “You’ll be fine, I promise.”
Photon took Ion to a local club. Ion wasn’t too sure about it, especially once other sims started showing up.
Ion managed to have some fun, though!
I’m having too much fun with their backstory, lol.
We don’t talk about Leia killing Jabba enough. Her grandmother and father were born into slavery. Her blood was that of the desert sand and the shackles of bondage. Leia was never more a Skywalker than the day she strangled her slave master with the very chains he used to bind her. The daughter of Anakin Skywalker was the one who killed Tatooine’s most notorious slaver, and I find that really beautiful.
And now, a few words from a person who has all the best intentions in the universe...
(you know the drill: click for better quality or whatever.)
I love/hate this drawing. Like, they look so stupid I love them but also they look so stupid I wish I could draw.
(Rant under the cut)
I did this scene redraw or whatever it’s called because i was supposed to be mind-mapping ideas for my A-Level art Personal Project but couldn’t because the idea of such a big project felt too daunting to start and I had so many ideas in my head I was rendered completely unable to write or articulate any of them. Then I felt so guilty for drawing this instead that I sat down and wrote a far-longer-than-necessary essay about my initial ideas and two artists I could investigate because I have systems in place for writing essays through executive dysfunction but not mind mapping through executive dysfunction. I’m actually irrationally terrified I’m going to be in trouble for not doing the task properly even though I overcompensated out of guilt and my teacher has never been mad at me before. I’m pretty sure he secretly hates me though, expect rationality I know that’s not true and I hate that I can’t convince myself that my teachers are not completely lying to me about everything. i need therapy.
two birds on a wire
yeah so i had to get this idea out of my system even if i am not satisfied with the outcome. i suppose i will return to this some day when i improve lmao
Just thinking about how Maul’s last words before he died were “He will avenge us.”
On his deathbed, Maul finally gives up on trying to defeat Obiwan long enough to realize how similar they are and how wronged they were.
Now, whether the Chosen One is Luke or Anakin is debatable because of the context, but either way, they did both avenge Maul and Obiwan.
Luke was able to convince his father to help save him from Palpatine’s force lightning, throw Palpatine to what should have been his death, and damage his breathing system which is probably what caused his death.
If Palpatine had truly died, the prophecy would have been fulfilled. Maul, Obiwan, and countless others would have been avenged.
Palpatine was responsible for forcing Maul to be his apprentice, training him ruthlessly, sending him to the fight where he was cut in half, letting him rot in insanity, killing his brother and apprentice, literal torture, and probably more terrible things I don’t even know about.
Palpatine was responsible for sending Maul to kill Qui-gon (and Maul’s incessant obsession with hurting Obiwan afterwards including Satine’s death and all the Jedi he killed to get Obiwan’s attention), creating and playing both sides of the Clone War (resulting in the deaths of countless clones created only for this purpose and innocent civilians), grooming Anakin to be the next Sith Lord after Dooku and seducing him to the dark side, ordering Order 66 which almost killed Obiwan (and Maul), and forcing Obiwan to live in hiding under the cruelty of the Empire.
Palpatine used both of them and put them against one another. He was the one that ruined both of their lives, directly or otherwise.
When Anakin threw him down the reactor shaft in ROTJ, that should have been it. After Anakin died, there would be no Sith Lords left and the Sith Rule of Two would be forever ended, restoring peace to the galaxy.
This is one of the reasons why I dislike the sequel trilogy in general (for storyline purposes). By bringing Palpatine back in TROS, they broke the canon Sith Rule of Two, invalidated Dave Filoni’s meaningful end to the Obiwan vs Maul rivalry, disrespected George Lucas’ vision of his franchise, implied that Rey could not have been a powerful Jedi without being related to a strong force user, and made the story even more confusing and pitiful.
And J.J. Abrams had the nerve to admit there was no plan for the trilogy, like, yeah, it was obvious😐
I just started reading Star Wars: Thrawn (2017) and I’m really fascinated with the attention to detail that Star Wars has when it comes to characters’ accents.
The closer to Coruscant, the more regal the accent is. For example, characters from planets in the inner core tend to have English accents. In contrast, characters from the outer rim planets tend to have American accents.
Characters like Jedi, most of which were raised on Coruscant because of the location of the Jedi Temple, tend to have English accents. However, there are exceptions, such as Anakin Skywalker. I believe Anakin has an American accent because he spent his early childhood on Tatooine, which is located in the outer rim.
Because this idea of location-based accents seemed to be created during the prequel era of Star Wars production, I didn’t expect the sequels to continue with this pattern (Seeing as they hardly cared about other canon ideas, such as the Sith Rule of Two). Surprisingly, Jakku is located in the inner core, which makes Rey’s English accent support this idea.
I know John Boyega was told to use an American accent because there were “too many” characters with English accents in the films, but this may actually support this idea also. As a low ranking stormtrooper, it is less likely that he would have a more regal accent that officers, like Hux, would have.
I also think it’s is interesting that many Imperials from mid to outer rim worlds, like Tarkin and Pryce, would hide their native accents and adopt more sophisticated English ones.
The Thrawn novel states that “Arihnda [Pryce] herself had worked very hard to get rid of her own Outer Rim accent, but she still felt very self conscious about her roots” after she recognizes Eli Vanto’s “Wild Space accent” and notes how uncomfortable he feels in the higher class Imperial gala. Pryce’s homeworld is Lothal, which is in the Outer Rim. This is also where Ezra Bridger and Ryder Azadi are from, and they don’t have regal accents.
In the novel, it is explicitly and repeated stated that Eli Vanto has a “wild space accent” and he’s even bullied for it. What do y’all think the equivalent of his accent would be to us? American? Southern (yee-haw) American? Australian?
I’d love to hear yalls thoughts about this!!😳
