Thorin wasn't able to save his own nephews but he saved Bilbo's and ultimately the world
It blows my mind that by giving the mithril shirt to Bilbo, Thorin indirectly saved Frodo and thus prevented the Ring-bearer from dying and the Quest from failing. The world was ultimately saved because the exiled King Under the Mountain fell in love with a hobbit.
Is there any canonical reason why the One Ring doesn't abandon Bilbo in Mirkwood, despite the presence of the Necromancer/Sauron? I can’t remember if Gandalf had already banished the Necromancer by the time the Dwarves and Bilbo get lost.
It‘s been a while since I read the book, and (to me, anyway) it makes sense that the Ring would abandon Bilbo in favor of it’s Master.
Of course, the story would have been quite a bit shorter of Sauron got hold of the Ring in Mirkwood.

Teenage Arwen and a personified One Ring

While fishing on the river with friends, I was looking down for cool rocks and noticed something metallic. I dug it up only to find a ring!
Naturally my immediate thought is that this is, in fact, The One Ring To Rule Them All.

What’s he doing? He’s leaving.

It is a strange fate that we should suffer so much fear and doubt over so small a thing. Such a little thing.
THE LORD OF THE RINGS: THE FELLOWSHIP OF THE RING (2001)
Bugs Bunny could have simply walked into Mordor. He would have shown up at the gates of Mordor in a disguise and been like "Evil volcano inspection unit" and flashed a fake ID badge to the confused orc.

I need your Rings of Power theories
how do we think season 2 will end? will we get all the way to the fall of Numenor and forging of the one ring, or will that be the subject of season 3? are we going to see the rise of the witch-king and Angmar?
i actually think it was a great choice to shift the canon timeline for the forging of the one ring. in this timeline, sauron loses celebrimbor (both loses his friendship and loses their battle of wills) and then is utterly rejected by galadriel right before he forges the one ring. i think these events will serve to push him further down the path of evil and away from his self-deluded “good intentions” and add more anger and hatred into his forging process when he does go to create the one ring.

"You'll never seem to have enough!"
Imagine Y/N arriving at Rivendell with the hobbits.
Frodo: "I am ready to go home."

Y/N: "Yeah well if you were we wouldn't have two more movies to get through"
The Hobbits: "What?"

Legolas: "Wait, I know your face. I know you! You are the mortal who called me Ella!"

Y/N: "It's Elsa"
