Steve Rogers - MCU - Demi

Let me tell you, I once read a fic featuring Demi Steve and it made me cry. It was so well written. I felt so seen. It was amazing. This is the fic, by @16woodsequ and I recommend you all check it out as well.

I feel like it fits him really well. Especially taking into consideration that he was turning down all of Nat's date suggestions throughout CA:TWS when he was shown to be adjusting to everything else about the 21st century.

Added bonus of the 21st century finally being able to help him understand who he is with terms that didn't really exist when he was growing up. He lucked out there.

Jessica Rabbit - Who Framed Roger Rabbit? - Asexual

Another canon ace!! She's the best. Unfortunately, I had a hard time finding photos of her to use since people are nasty about her. Jessica, darling, I'm so sorry you have to endure that. Like she said in the movie, "I'm not bad, I'm just drawn that way."

Also love that she married Roger because he makes her laugh. Whatta couple. You just gotta love them.

Matthew Cuthbert - Green Gables Series and adaptions - Aroace

Don't you just love Matthew? He's the best. There was never an explanation given for him never getting married other than "he's shy." Actually, iirc, there's a line in AOGG where the narration straight up says he never even thought about it. So I claim him for the aroaces.

Does his shyness play a role in it? Maybe. But is it more likely that's just the excuse he gives for not wanting to since he's aroace? Yeah

Also, since I hc Anne as demiromantic, it just makes sense for her father figure to also be aspec, right? It works out perfectly that way.

I love Matthew. I'd want him to be my aroace father figure if I lived in Avonlea.

Jo March - Little Women - Greyrose

Not to sound like your standard white girl, but when I read Little Women, I connected a lot with Jo and related to her quite a bit in regards to her dreams and independence.

It was more than just that, though. And I know there's the lesbian vs aroace debate with her just like there is with Barbie. However, I see her more as greyrose.

I'm probably going to do a terrible job explaining this, but when I read the story, I actually really like her relationship with The Professor. She doesn't seem to experience rose feelings often but they finally aligned with Fritz. A once in a lifetime chance and they made it work out.

This story gave me a lot of hope. At the time I read it, I was wondering if I was greyromantic as well as ace. Jo's story and the fact that she ended comfortable and happy on her own terms, which just so happened to also include Fritz, brought me comfort. It helped me know that, no matter what, so long as I do my best to do what makes me happy, it'll all turn out. It also gave me hope in someday being able to find someone who accepts that my asexuality makes me approach relationships differently and we'll be able to make it work, too.

August - Station Eleven - Aromantic

Okay, tbh, I don't have a lot for this one. There's also no official art for August, so have the book cover and the aro flag.

Basically, when I read Station Eleven this past semester, I enjoyed the handful of moments August tagged along with Kristen and the fact that they were best friends just vibin' in the post-apocalyptic land of Michigan lol.

One thing that did catch my attention was their pact to "not fall in love with each other" that they made. It almost felt like it was a joke, too. Like, if August was aro then there was no way that was going to happen and so the pact was more of an inside joke between them than anything serious.

I do recommend the book. There's not too much with August in it, though, and that's about the only moment I can recall that would be that explicit about him possibly being aro. So just don't go into it expecting too much out of this headcanon

Bodhi Rook - Rogue One - Asexual

sorry I lied earlier this is the last Star Wars one, pinky promise

Bodhi!!! An ace pilot, hehe.

This one is mainly vibes but also it's the highest honor I could bestow upon him. I also love the Rogue One crew a lot so someone was gonna get ace-ified so why not? He'd totally make at least one ace pilot joke, I can feel it in my bones

He deserves the world <3 I'm glad to give him the wonderful gift of being ace because being ace is awesome

Jonathan Crane - DC - Aroace

Aroace Jonathan just makes sense to me. It just does.

Depending on the version of Jonathan would depend on how interesting he find the relationship between fear and attraction are. Sometimes he doesn't care at all and just wants to keep working on his initial work. Other times, he finds it intriguing since he doesn't feel it himself and takes note of it to see how it can influence his fear gas, etc etc.

Mainly, he's just vibin', doing his own thing and probably makes fun of the other rogues' terrible love lives when they complain too much around him.

Spider-Noir - Spider-Man: Into the Spiderverse - Aromantic

I love the Spiderverse a lot. It's just natural that I give one of the spideys the honors of being aspec. Spider Noir gives off very aromantic vibes to me. Not from him "closing himself off to emotion" though. He's just bad at coping with stress. Nah, he'd be aro no matter what. He's too busy punching Nazis and loving his friends to care about romance.

Would he have the terminology for it in his own world? Probably not (yet). But goin' around the multiverse helps him find out there's a word for what he feels (or doesn't feel) and he's happy to learn and adopt it. Also he'd love the different shades in the flag, coming from a black and white universe and all

Also as far as I remember in his backstory, he never mentioned Gwen or MJ in a romantic sense (unlike some of the other Spideys), so there's that too

Bilbo Baggins - The Hobbit / LOTR - Aroace

Canonically never gets married, I love that for him. It might be because I read the Hobbit for the first time in 5th grade, but also probably just because it just fits him. He's always been an aroace icon to me.

Tbh, I don't have many notes for Bilbo either. He's an icon, that's for sure. And Middle Earth could always do with some aroace icons there, too.

Connor Hawke - DC - Asexual

I know like,,, nothing about Connor because most of my DC focus tends to be on the Batfam and adjacent people (such as the Rogues, Superfam, YJ, etc)

BUT I recently found out that Connor is like. the only canonically ace DC character. So I love him automatically. Also despite Batfam fans picking on Oliver a lot, I've heard many good things about the Arrow Fam as well. Basically: don't be surprised if I ever have a DC phase swing that way too lol

Anyway yeah. DC canon ace rep! Good for Connor

Jason Todd - DC - Asexual

Tbh I wouldn't be past headcanoning the entire batfam as different identities along the aspec lol. I'm not entirely sure why, but ace Jason has an extra special place in my heart no I'm not projecting even more with this what are you talking about

Bonus points for ace-ing another character the fandom gets wayyyyyy too nasty about.

Also back to that entire aspec batfam idea: I think it'd be fun. An entire found family of aspecs. Add that to the list of things they'd all have a 6th sense for. Compace, as it was so wonderfully put in the ace tag not too long ago, to the MAX. I love it.

Katsa - Graceling Realm - Greyrose

I'm actually in the middle of a Graceling Realm reread/catch-up right now, so of course I'm gonna give out an aspec headcanon for this series as well

Why greyrose for Katsa? Well, before she met Po, she really wasn't interested in anything regarding romance or sex. It takes a combo of meeting him and knowing that he won't force her to settle down the way society tries to require that finally gets her to be more interested.

Also just. More power to her for being aspec. She's awesome

Charlotte Lucas - Pride and Prejudice - Aromantic

Okay this is one that I also saw a hc for and was like "yeah I can see it, I'll add that to the list"

Her being aro makes sense to me. She gets married to Mr. Collins when nobody else will. But why? Not for love. She says because she is getting older in a world where women didn't have property rights or really any rights, etc. It was an opportunity to secure a future at least somewhat in her control. It didn't have to be about love for her, even though all her friends were obsessed with falling in love. She makes the most of it for her situation anyway. Go her.

Very relatable as an acespec oldest sibling. Add in my other batfam aspec headcanons and being an acespec oldest sibling of aspec younger siblings and he becomes even more relatable to me than he already is

But yeah. It's great. The highest honor a character can have is me giving them an aspec headcanon. There's no greater achievement
