I posted this on dA but I thought hey why not tumblr too? XD Can’t tell you who this person is, but she’s a character of mine who... exists... yeah XD; She’s a character from a costory I write with a friend but I cannot say who she isss because she’s technically spoiler. But I wanted to post this anywayy so I just won’t say who she is yeah. XD; Anyways. So yeah. have an art. *breathes in* Boi. How do I explain this one. Okay so, I was doing Rozzer’s Color Scheme challenge from dA and I made two versions of the top right color scheme. I really didn’t like the colors on this one though, so I decided to mess with it more on my own. The first picture is I saved all my screenshots from working on it into a sort of... collage thing XD; And the last one is the standalone final project, featured in the middle. Now, what is this? Well, it’s my OTP sharing a pocky because I could NOT get the idea out of my head after discovering the song Lost by Donkeyboy (so addicted to this song) that the picture was TOTALLY them sharing a pocky together. Even though it’s 100% out of character I think my girl there would only do this if she was heavily under the influence or something but that DOESN’T MEAN I CAN’T DREAM ABOUT THIS KIND OF SITUATION. It just. Hngh something about the idea of sharing a pocky together really appeals to me. Maybe ever since I was introduced to the idea in the Daa! Daa! Daa! manga, it never really left my head. I DON’T KNOW IT’S CUTE! ...Now who are these characters? Well, they’re from a book called Torn Apart. That’s about the only thing I can tell you, because they’re super spoiler! XD Collab book with my friend, CC. The guy is her character who I violently commandeered to draw this fluff for. I basically adopted him tho he’s like my son. *frequently commandeers him for art fuff it’s a thing* But uh anyways... so that’s that! XD enjoy this rando OOC fluff~ (that you won’t understand because you haven’t read the book because it’s not out yet but I digress. if you’re a few people though you might know who these chars are, just maybe... also if you know them don’t name in them in the comments, thanks)

Well, I think I’ve sat on this picture long enough. Three characters in one picture that will not be named, do you recognize them? XP Who knows. Anyways. So I found this palette on colourpod and suddenly knew exactly what I’d be doing with it. I think I kinda cheated a bit though. I lightened, darkened, color dodged some colors so it’s not completely the same five colors anymore... but that kinda what you’re supposed to do with real color palettes anyhow though, right? XP But anyways, yes. Fluff. And a shipper looking on who I wanted to blur out because she gets too much attention in this picture (attention hog...) but in the end I kept her. The colors were a little muddy by the end of it so I used auto-contrast to make things a little brighter, and since it’s already been a couple weeks since I last touched it, I didn’t really feel like doing anymore serious work on it... which is a shame because I REALLY wanted to do CC’s character on the left more justice here (he looks so out of character oh my gosh XD but I headcannon this is past the awkward stage so let me dream) and take my little attention hog on the right there down a notch... I was even gonna switch the side the plate was on (that overgrown flat pancake leaning off her shoulder at an odd angle doesn’t even look like a plate with food on it, does it? It was supposed to have a pancake or several on it too ironically enough...) and had some layers to that effect, but I’m too lazy now to do anything with it. So sad. Well! There’s fluff. Achievement unlocked: Draw my OTP on a romantic dinner date! *cue PS3 achievement unlocked sound effect* Anyways now I’ll let you enjoy the fluff. Goodbye!

And because I felt like uploading old art today, I found a line-up of the 12 sisters from Torn Apart! That’s right folks there’s 12 of them. XD All with emotive nicknames. From top left to bottom right there’s: Artsy, Fraidi, Happy, Obnoxi, Catsy, Sleepi, Dramati, Chiffie, Blushie, Bookie, Seri and Angri. I might actually change some of the sizes of the sisters. I liked the idea of there being a bunch of tiny ones but it looks kind of weird. Maybe I’ll make some of them look a little older. XD

Mermay #02 - Aidren as a Mer

So... this one really did not come out as planned. Guh, it looks awful... but, my friend CC wanted me to finish it, sooo here it is, against my better judgment. I was gonna try to make another one because this one is so sketchy and bad and not really exactly what I had in mind but Heaven knows I probably would have procrastinated it forever XP Soooo I guess something’s better than nothing. Even if that expression looks /really/ off and we won’t mention the hands or the tail or the shoddy coloring job or that this doesn’t look like Aidren at all to me... but uh. whoops. Guess I just did XP

Forgot to post this here! I spent ages editing it in photoshop and finally yesterday decided it was time to upload it... but then I forgot to upload it to tumblr. Well, here it is. Sleepi from Torn Apart, wondering where her bird-friend went probably... XD

I don’t remember if I uploaded this to tumblr... I don’t think I did. Well, it’s on dA but for anyone who doesn’t follow my dA, here it is again. XD Well, I wanted to draw my characters from Torn Apart acting out this sequence from Hercules my friend posted from pinterest, so, I drew it. Yep, that’s all there is to it. This is kind of old now... more than a month old actually, ew I didn’t realize how old this was. But it’s cute and I forgot to upload it, so oh well. XD;

Aaand here’s another one. I thought my inspiration from the prompts had finally run dry, but noope. I’ve also discovered how great Kyle Webster’s brushes are. I’ve had them for ages but never used them until I started picking ones at random to see what they’d do and I’ve discovered I love his free watercolor and pen brushes XD Course that kinda caused me to pretty thoroughly digitalize what was supposed to be a ~mostly~ trad drawing, but I didn’t feel like potentially messing it up with real markers so I decided to try to noodle on color digitally after I’d fixed it up and one thing led to another and yeah... XD; So I decided to upload the ink-only-with-some-editing version just to prove that yes, there is an ink drawing under all that digital paint XD;; Anyways um... so this here’s an OC from Torn Apart. Can’t really say who she is at the moment but those that are familiar with the story may or may not know. XD; I figured the prompt “Cerulean/Ball Gown/Fantasy” would fit her really well so I put away my Margo-lookalike sleuth for now and decided to break out a favorite of mine for this one. XD

I saw this and wanted to do it as my chars, so… XD

I wasn’t sure if Doc would be the type to plot world domination, but then I thought, with Myths? Oh yeah. XD; Everyone else was an easy fit. XD;

I was reminded of this lovely style meme existing and wanted to do it again~ This time featuring my character Angri, from Torn Apart. XD It was really fun to do, and a challenge (though some of them are cursed)

December: Part of yet another animation WIP, this frame of Sz'nami. I decided to render it in the summary of art picture at the end of December to make it look even nicer. :P

Lots of WIPs and sketches this year, haha. Sometimes I really need somebody to kick me to finish things. XPP

2023... I got a lot of art done this year compared to past years! Though the year started out slow, between trades and commissions, the first quarter of the year somehow managed to have at least one good drawing a month, even if March's old-sketch-paintover looks a little strange next to all the creatures. XD; May and June continued the theme of painting over old, though June's original was considerably newer than May's. It also took me forever to find it!! Several of the ones I'd been going to put for June turned out to be from different months (no date on them so was going by modified date at first, oops!). And in July of course there was the Clysmia comic, August with the Choco 'comic'. September was another low but I managed to churn out another paintover. October of course had my annual flower-drawing saga with the last one featured here, and in November I got bored and drew Comet, and December held a delightful surprise in the form of a book-illustrating commission. :3 Gonna keep that one to just a preview since it's part of something that'll be published.

January - This was a secret santa for my good friend @toothpaste-dragon of her OC Baz! Love this grumpy crust of an alien. :D You can view the full pic here.

February - This was a commission from @dreagonarchives of her guy Guido! Full pic: x

March - Paintover I did of my character Sleepi from Torn Apart! Since it was done over an older pic the style looks a little incongruent from my current style 😅 But this was also almost a year a go now, so, y'know.

April - My half of a design trade with @chrystallink! Doggos are a bit of a challenge for me, but it was a fun one! Full pic: x

May - A fittingly sunny pic of my character Nola. This was another one that I think had started from a paintover and just went places from there. Still a little strange-looking, but oh well. Plus a photo of some sunflowers in the background. XD

June: Progress pic of an absolute freak. An attempt was made to sketch out a hand to keep it from hiding, but I never did get back to this pic... 😂

July: As mentioned above, a comic for my good friend Dia featuring her gal Clysmia!

August: The tail end of a final ArtFight attack against Chocobir! I had so much fun putting in on the Easter eggs, and Choco is so cute!

September: The suave business lizard himself, it's Nell! Another one that's painted over an older sketch. Overall I think I improved the face shape a bit since the sketch? Maybe?

October: The final flower from Floratober 2023! I had a lot of fun and it was so great getting so much feedback this year. The wonders of posting on places other than Tumblr! lol.

November: Comet from Cosmic Baton Girl Comet-san! Whenever I need to get away and draw, Comet is there as my comfort anime. :) It's been a while since I've drawn the girl and watched the last bundle of episodes!

December: And of course, December's art! From a very fittingly snowy-themed project. :) I don't know yet how much I'll be able to talk about it, but it's certainly going to keep me busy for a while!
