At one point on their journey, Merry (with a suspiciously innocent look on his face) wonders aloud which of the Fellowship is the tallest.

Naturally, this sparks an argument. Legolas, Aragorn, and Boromir immediately jump up to compare. Boromir should not have, for it is found that he is an inch shorter than the other two. He spends the rest of the argument sulking a ways off from the rest of the party.

Legolas and Aragorn, for their part, are the exact same height, and yet both insist that they are the taller. It is pointed out that all three are wearing boots and a remeasurement is taken. Their boots have the same heel.

Gandalf, for his part, is sitting on a rock, puffing serenely on his pipe, insisting that his hat should count in his height.

The Hobbits and Gimli snicker and feed the fire whenever they can.

I will never recover from how everything and everyone was so queer in The Lord of The Rings and The Hobbit and everything else. Legolas and Gimli built a boat together to go to the Undying Lands together and spent all their time *together* after Return of The King but yeah totally platonicly™️

Frodo and Sam were so queer in the books and movies that the actors themselves ship them together, and Sean Astin wanted them to kiss but we all know they wouldn’t have been able to get away with it. Bilbo and Thorin were so gay in the movies that this isn’t even an edited screenshot.

And somehow people still believe that it’s all platonic

hello i am watching the hobbit trilogy (and then lord of the rings) but i’ve been perusing and. the fact that legolas pulls out the locket of Gloin’s wife and son only to be like “who is this hideous thing” [in reference to Gimli] only to become Gimli's best friend and husband has me screaming. i’m losing it. i’ve never seen a better movie in my whole life.

i'm not saying dwarves are explicitly gay i'm saying they're gay in the way birds are gay

Who do you think would go hunting for the Company during their travel to Erebor?

Would it be Dwalin?

Bifur?

Would Kili and Fili go out to hunt for the food?

Or would it be Thorins purpose also, to provide for his companions as the leader of the adventure.

I’ve thought overnight about it, and:

I’ve got a lineup (from most often to least often)!!!

1. Gloin (we all know this man makes everything a completion, his game is the best, his wife is the best, his hair is the nicest copper color, his son is the best, we could go on and on) he prides himself on the kill he makes for the company.

2. Bifur I cannot use words to describe how vicious yet clean this dwarrow is with his kills. When Bifur kills an animal, it is left so perfectly, it looks like it’s alive, perfect for cooking and using every bit of the body they need

3. Suprisingly is Dwalin! We know our warrior is a bit rough around the edges all over, but he cares for his fellow kin in a subtle way, such as making sure they eat so they can “Put that food to good use and use your brain for once!”

4. Fili and Kili (cuz they a duo) Kili normally does the killing of Deer and such with his arrow, while Fili will take down physically with a dagger, Fili normally goes for the neck right away, Kili goes for the lungs of what he shoots at when hunting

First of all, I need to comment on the statement that LOTR TV show is the 'next Game of Thrones' because GOT was the 'next Lord of the Rings' from the very beginning. It feels belittling to a book or a movie to say that it is the next (blank). I dislike the fact that a classic like LOTR can be called the 'next (blank)'. GOT maybe, because it is relatively new, but LOTR no, because it is far more loved and has always been 'the older brother of GOT'. I hope you understood what were the points I tried to make. Next comes the thought of the TV show itself. WE DON'T WANT IT AND WE DON'T NEED IT. The only good it will bring is the fact that the fandom will come alive again. But just like the Death Note fandom it will come alive so it can discuss the failure that the show will be. Lord of the Rings without the cast? The music? Hell, this was one of those adaptations that wasn't completely hated by the fandom and now you're telling me we need a new one that will be? Luckily, nothing is fully decided yet and who knows maybe the show never happens but if it does it will be instantly dismissed and hated as an adaptation that is supposed to 'replace' or 'be better' than the first one. I don't know what is up with movie and show creators but their lack of original content baffles me. Still, I know I shouldn't dislike something that doesn't exist yet, but I can dislike the idea of the LOTR show. Maybe it will be better (who am I kidding?), maybe worse or perhaps equal to the movies and/or books. All I will say there are better things to waste money on.

i dont ship the 3 hunters as a polycule, but this is funny

I see things for the three hunters polycule sometimes where aragorn leaves to be with arwen. But what if arwen joins to be with aragorn? Anyway i just wanted to find a way to apply the 3 weed-smoking girlfriends to something i like.

New headcanon just dropped

What if elves and dwarves both do gender presentation braids but opposite so gimli thought legolas was a trans girl when they met. Thats why legolas didnt like him, he thought he was just being rude and trying to emasculate him. He only realized that it was a mistake when they became friends and gimli kept misgendering him.
