No, I’m still watching The Lord of the Rings, but I was in the cinema and watched this cartoon and wanted to share my impressions.

Cartoon Name: Migration (2023); Production Studios: Universal Pictures, Illumination Entertainment; Director by: Benjamin Renner, Guylo Homsy; Screenwriter: Mike White, Benjamin Renner; Starring: Kumail Nanjiani, Elizabeth Banks, Danny DeVito, Caspar Jennings, Tresi Gazal; Genres: Action, Adventure, Comedy; Running Time: 1 hour 31 minutes;
"Migration" is an exciting 2023 cartoon about the migration of ducks. With great animation and an informative story about the importance of migration for animals, this cartoon leaves a vivid impression.
My rating:
⭐⭐⭐

Maybe this would be a truly universal place to start (the peaceful kind of universal), perhaps with other planets in this case. It may’ve even come along with folkwanderings (migrations) to all spots.
The world's oldest story? Astronomers say global myths about 'seven sisters' stars may reach back 100,000 years https://phys.org/news/2020-12-world-oldest-story-astronomers-global.html

Holy shit, this is cool!
So many cultures call the Pleiades some variation of the "seven sisters" despite only having six visible stars. There only appear to be six because two of the stars are so close together as to appear as one.
The myths also mention one sister leaving or hiding to explain why there's only six. And based off observations and measurements, those two that are so close together used to be visibly separate. One literally has moved to hide.
And based off the similarities between the more commonly known Greek myth and the Aboriginal Australian myth, plus some other stuff, this myth could possibly even date back to when humanity still all resided in Africa!

On the other hand, with real political considerations, as long as migration is not visible and you can pay lower wages for hard work to earn money, migration was never an issue.

These are probably the last of the American Goldfinchs from this season that have been feeding on the Blue Jays' station before their migration.

Sadly Not All Birds Migrate
By instinct we used to think that all birds migrate and that it's a normal process. Sadly not all of them are still able to. Like all of us they get old and sometimes gain weight. Those ones take a chance to stay with us the whole winter and count on their survival skills. But unfortunately most of them die. So I decided to build some quick and simple shelters for those brave ones who are force to stay here with us. Here's one of them.
Impermanent mobility rather than stale stability is the towering metaphor of who and what we are and where we think we live. Fictive frontiers, moving signposts, barbed wires, tall apartheid walls, military checkpoints, militarized airports, train and bus stations, stormy seas, leaking refugee boats, drowning parents and dead children’s bodies.… Our metaphysics must start there, for it has long moved there. The metaphysics of our being in the world start with the weakest and most vulnerable, not with the strongest sporting a U.S. or EU passport. There is no self or any other on that leaking sinking boat. There is no self or other, and therefore there is no dis-othering on that boat. In dis-othering we are carrying the delusion of a safe destiny from behind secured walls to stormy seas and leaking boats, there to ignore the fact of a perilous journey as the single most defining metaphysical uncertainty of our existence today.

(Paris) – Asylum seekers and migrants living in destitution in the port city of Calais experience harassment and abuse at the hands of French police, Human Rights Watch said today.

Nothing much changes through the years. Artists still have to address the same topics over and over and over until one day the flickering light of the bright ideas they keep bringing up finally stay on.

VERY IMPORTANT a dam in the Netherlands, the weerdsluis lock, is directly on a migratory path for spawning fish. They have a worker stationed there to open the door for the fish, but they can take a while to open it. So to keep the fish from getting preyed on by birds they installed a doorbell. Only, the fish don't have hands to ring the doorbell. If you go to their website, they have a LIVE CAMERA AND A DOORBELL that YOU RING FOR THE FISH when they're waiting, and then the dam worker opens the door for them! I can't express how obsessed I am with this. look at this shit. oh my god.

Please check on the fish doorbell once in a while :)
Major Migration
Q: Which animal has the longest migration route? Bonus question: Since the [above animal] travels so much, their year is rather unique. What two things does it get in a year, that the rest of us miss out on?
A: The Artic Tern (Sterna paradisaea)

(x)
The Arctic Tern’s convoluted migration route lands them the title of Longest Migration in the animal kingdom! Recent studies have placed the average length around 70,900 km (44,300 miles) for birds nesting in Iceland and Greenland and approximately 90,000 km (55,900 miles) for those nesting in the Netherlands! (x, x)
Every year they travel from the Arctic breeding grounds to the Antarctic, and back again. This means that they get two summers a year! The Northern hemisphere summer is spent at the Arctic breeding grounds, and they winter during the Southern hemisphere summer at sea, just North of the Antarctic ice!
Because they get two summers per year, Arctic Terns also receive more daylight than any other animal on Earth!

If all that wasn’t impressive enough, just remember that Arctic Terns can live approximately 34 years. So if they average 70,900 km each year, that adds up to a whopping 2.4 million km in their lifetime. That’s equivalent to 60 trips around the world or 3 trips to the moon and back! (x)
