Tris Prior - Tumblr Posts
This is originally from a comment I posted on r/autisminwomen on a post asking why autism is celebrated in media but not in real life. However, I really really like my answer and wanted to post it here, ESPECIALLY since I talk about divergent so much on my blog. So, here you go:
I think part of the reason I really liked the divergent series so much is because tris's voice in the books is so... Autistic??? I can agree that the book isn't... The best piece of literature ever.... But I think that there's some part of me that will always love that book because it made me feel weirdly normal.
(Oh and while we're at it for 2012 dystopian ya novels - katniss from the hunger games was just an autistic slay.)
But back to divergent. I think this is also why people didn't like the books and (in my opinion) acted like they were worsely written than they were. People are happy to accept autistic characters/autistic coded characters in an act of performance and weird savior fantasy. But, when someone actually has autism (or a character is portrayed with more realistic, less "black and white" autism), this weird internalized ableism comes out in a very subconscious way. I remember hearing about a research article talking about how nts subconsciously notice autistic people almost immediately by a sense of uneasiness or "uncanny valley". People are all too happy to watch the guy on atypical and infantilise him to the point of feeling like they're rooting for a kid in a coming of age movie, but are very happy to jump on characters like Devi in Never Have I Ever for being "too weird" and "too grown to be acting that way".
The celebration for autism in media is a show. The more you realize it, the more you notice it.
Rewatching divergent, insurgent and allegiant because why not. (He's so hot)
don't blame me | tris & four - divergent
o final da saga divergente foi uma bela bosta, vou ter que ler os livros agora pra ter um final digno (se eu tiver spoiler do final, vou ficar puta)

Name ten female characters you like, you get zapped if it's jsut a male character you call a babygirl or other feminine nicknames because I can't see people calling Lestat coquette again
Yes. Yes. Yes. TALKING TO YOU AMERICA SINGER, BELLA SWAN, EADYLN SCHREAVE, TRIS PRIOR, and poor innocent cress And Tess . Oh and all you Herondales, you too Julian Blackthorn. Those cringe worthy moments where you feel embarrassed for them....yikes.

That moment when a character does something so embarrassing that you think *oh shit* and close the book to avoid the outcome.
I have 7 posts in my queue, all set for fridays at 12PM (Noon) requests are welcome anytime and will come out at anytime, usually pretty soon after the ask is sent.
I lived through the trend of YA authors killing off their main female character in the last book. Nothing can hurt me anymore.
🥀8TH SYNASTRY EXPERIENCE WITH MY EX BOYFRIEND🥀 {PART 1}

Hi guys, this is my first post here, and I wanted to start by saying that this is my personal experience during the relationship, I don't accept third party guesses and unsolicited opinions. It's my blog and I post whatever I want.
🥀
Second of all, I'm not an expert or professional in the field of astrology, I'm just posting this because I feel like I should share it with everyone who is afraid of the 8th house.
🥀
His Venus, Moon, Mars and Saturn all fall in my 8th house. In this part I will only talk about his planets and how it felt to be the house person.
🥀 VENUS IN 8TH

When I first met him it was like my whole body had received an electrical charge. My mouth went dry and my heart raced. It was a quick and silly conversation but it had me dying to find out more about him. He was beautiful, like a Greek God, I had already been attracted to other men before, but no one could compare with his beauty. He had something that made me want to get to know him more. He was mysterious, sexy, bold and confident.
His Venus falling in my 8th house was like seeing the most beautiful art in the Louvre museum. There was no one else in the world that could compare to his beauty, he had cast a spell on me, tied me to his feet. I was enchanted.
His eyes were the first thing I saw, his body was beautiful, of course, but the beauty of his Bambi brown eyes was unmatched. They were so loving and kind, I felt like I could tell him all my secrets, dreams and goals. I was at home.
Venus falling in the 8th house makes the house person see everything bigger than it really is. She puts her expectation on the planet person, she thinks he is the only man on earth. It's all more viceral and fanciful. She tries to look directly at the sun and ends up with a sore eye. But she doesn't care, because she's in love with him. It's like magic, it's this crazy thing that makes you obsess over this person.

This is NOT my work...

I have to confess I really like the Divergent-Trilogy
Normally when people talk about YA - dystopian Books this is sadly considered as bad but it’s not and here is why.
It’s a very Self Discovering Story in a World that lies in shambles. The fractions of this system are portraying different types of personality traits, which is for young adults actually really releatable in a way. Because you don’t really know were you belong, were your place is in the world, what kind of person you want to be. The other two books are more in portraying the journey to discover the world, to know what is out there. And also what I find myself really relating to is the Message of being different and it’s actually portrayed in an interesting way. Because I discovered it by myself people bitch If you are different from the Quote on Quote Standard. In the other two books I really like how Tris is dealing with grief and loss. I also really enjoyed her as a Character, she seems very mature and silent to me, reading her was to got into the head of a very introvert person, with a lot going on but still remaining the feeling of the silent one. And the ending to this trilogy is so sad, but I‘m a sucker for this kind of endings.
