no like wtf did they do??? I thought I was the only one who felt off about it

S4 of The Umbrella Academy is one of the biggest disappointments for me in the history of all tv shows. How can one season with only 6 episodes ruin an amazing show and its characters so much?😭

it actually makes me so sad that people consume media where every character is kind of an asshole and they just entirely overly sanitize every character and every problem thats caused by the being kind of an asshole thing. i loooove conflict i love people who suck. i love people who are good people but also still kind of suck in some ways because they are a person. most importantly you all do not understand the comedic potential of characters being kind of shitty to eachother.

I know it’s insignificant compared to everything that happened this season, but Alison canonically vapes. I mean, she’s a grown woman, and she can do what she wants, but why have her vape? In earlier seasons, we’ve seen her smoke, so why can’t we just have her stick with that (unless, of course, her actor wasn’t comfortable about it any more)

another thing about Alison, though, is that she’s constantly complaining about being the bad guy of the family. But like, you made the choice to betray your family and avoid reconciliation with them for at least 5 years. I’m sure she’s done other things but I can only remember stuff from the 3rd (just barley though I need to rewatch it) and 4th season rn

I can't sleep so I'm talking about umbrella academy again

It's occurred to me what the worst part thing about season three is. And it's not Allison, or the fact that she raped Luther, the worst part is what happens after

NOTHING

Nothing freaking happens. They never address it

LUTHER INVITES HER TO HIS FREAKING WEDDING

DAYS. LATER.

I can live with characters doing horrible things for plot reasons if I must, but the fact that it never comes up again and never even gets mentioned, Luther never even tells anyone and Allison gets away with that, IT'S JUST DUMB

This actually gives me the chance to talk about a much better show, Buffy the Vampire Slayer

Late in btvs, I can't remember the exact season, Spike attempts to rape Buffy

And it's a big deal, holding semi-large repercussions, changing the way some characters see each other, and the way they behave, and resulting in massive character growth eventually

So yeah, tldr, the most annoying part about s3 of The Umbrella Academy is that it fails to address anything important, and btvs is a good show

it's interesting that despite all being the same age you can see a clear division of younger and older siblings within the Hargreeves siblings.

With five it's more obvious despite being mentally far older than all of them he looks like a child he looks like their much younger brother did when they lost him and so they treated him as such. But you can see that level out now to they still treat him like a younger brother but give him space to be an adult.

But for the other siblings that all remain the same age it's a nice little look into how parentification of the higher numbers and the wombification of the lowers ones by Hargreeves insane parenting methods created an artificial sibling age hierarchy amongst children of the same age.

Which is also why ben doesn't fit. He was number 6 to them but he was number 2 in his own family. They want to baby him but he is used to being looked to as an elder. it's also why him and Diego seem to clash the most can't be two number twos with complexes about being number two in the family it fucks the whole shit up

Okay real talk. Rumor was one of the most unique and interesting powers saying the phrase “I heard a rumor” and then being able to warp reality was cool as fuck and now they turned her into dollar store Jean Grey. And it’s just like why? What were we cooking?

It’s just sad that she’s spends so much of the series refusing to use her powers and then suddenly she gets these new ones and look at that she doesnt give a fuck anymore.
