Thereās a Sith Temple on Coruscant...
There was material for an episode arc Dave Filoni described at the āUntold Storiesā panel in 2016 set after Ahsoka leaves, when sheās immediately dragged back into Jedi business alongside Anakin, Obi Wan and Yoda where they discover a Sith Temple on the ground floor of Coruscant directly under the Jedi Temple. Am I the only one who still wants to see these episodes in one medium or another?
I know thereād be a couple of issues. (Spoilers ahead)
a) Emotionally, it feels as though we experience the first time that Anakin and Obi Wan see Ahsoka again since she left before the Siege of Mandalore. BUT, theyāve been out of contact for months at that point. What if it took place a week or two after she left? Anakin tries to brush it off initially, like ālook, youāve had time to process it, now you can come backā and Ahsoka has to drill it into his head that she wonāt do that because sheās still hurting. I wouldnāt be surprised if Anakin tried to keep tabs on her after she left, so meeting up with her again so soon afterwards, with her telling him to give her space would mean that heād stop. I reckon itād add even more emotional weight to the scenes where he senses her with the Martez Sisters and lets her go or when he sees her again and immediately asks āhow are you - WHERE are you?ā. Heās tried to respect her space but itās taking a lot out of him, so when SHE calls HIM, heās obviously ecstatic as this feels like permission to slip back into old habits (but they both feel that things have changed). Also! An idea thatād be cool would be if Ahsoka chats with PadmĆ© at the end and PadmĆ© casually drops her some cash so she can buy a speeder (Ahsoka would protest and insist on less, thus, buys a cheaper speeder). Maybe even Padme chatting with Anakin afterwards and then he leaves in the morning for the outer rim for the next, oh idk, NINE MONTHS.
b) How come Ahsoka doesnāt know about Sidious when fighting Maul, even though in these episodes, she protects a holocron from him by sealing herself inside a Sith vault with him electrocuting her up the sabre - easy. She just doesnāt know his name and how much of the war he controlled. She and Anakin have come close to Sidious before this in the āChildren of the Forceā episode in season two. Makes thematic sense that another close call would happen before the end (also, it means Sidious has even more reason to give Captain Rex a specific order to kill Ahsoka Tano, despite her not being a Jedi).
c) Ahsoka doesnāt have her lightsabers until the Siege of Mandalore... I can imagine that she finds her Shoto that disappeared and after Yoda realises that she still has it, has to convince her to give it back as she is no longer a Jedi (so she has to hand it back to Anakin). Otherwise, she just doesnāt have a lightsaber and uses someone elseās, idk they can get creative (it just sounds like such a cool scene not to include!)
d)... itād just be a whole lotta fun and would be the sweetest deep dive back into Star Wars lore, potentially drop some references to The Old Republic. Also - I just need some more screen time with these three again??? I love every second that they interact together and I just need more of it.

#Mira-Marathon | Star Wars
Cartoon Name: Star Wars: The Clone Wars (2008); Production Studios: Lucasfilm, Lucasfilm Animation; Director by: Dave Filoni; Screenwriter: Henry Gilroy, Steven Melching, Scott Murphy; Starring: Matt Lanter, Ashley Eckstein, James Arnold Taylor, Dee Bradley Baker, Tom Kane; Genres: Science Fiction, Action, Adventure; Running Time: 1 hour 38 minutes;
The cartoon "Star Wars: The Clone Wars" tells the fascinating story of the Jedi Ahsoka Tano and her teacher Anakin Skywalker. Contemplate the exciting plot, impressive characters and excellent visual effects. Friendship, the dark side of the Force and exciting battles. Some boring dialogue and possible childishness for some viewers.

My thoughts on the SW Filoni-verse (a rant)
Dave Filoni is pretty much single-handedly sustaining the sw franchise at this point and we all love him for it. His stories are amazing and, at least in my opinion, he has overall never disappointed. He also very clearly ramping up to something really huge.
However, I think anything he creates, whether that's an out of galaxy threat, Thrawn's return, or even just the rebirth of the jedi order, it's all been massively screwed over by the sequel trilogy.
Now I personally was not a big fan of the sequels, for a variety of reasons that I won't get into in this post. Disclaimer: if you enjoyed the sequels: that's great, I'm glad for you, everyone is entitled to enjoy what they want. BUT I think we all have to agree that no matter what we think of the sequels, they are rather restricting to all of the post-OG pre-sequel shows. Everything has to end in a way to set up the events of Force Awakens. Therefore no matter how threatening Thrawn is, or what lies beyond the galaxy, or how successful Luke is in starting to rebuild the jedi (or improve them), we know the ending.
Now you may ask, "But what about CW or Rebels? Those were still amazing shows with great (albeit heartbreaking) endings!" And I agree, they really were. But I think these new shows are all playing in a very different field than those older ones. The old shows were focusing on a much smaller time gap, first of all. Second, they also didn't have the problem needing to set up every single thing the characters are working for to fail in an extremely catastrophic way.
Again you can ask, "How does the second point apply to CW?" Well, when we were watching CW with the knowledge the jedi die and Anakin falls, we also had the assurance that what they fought for would prevail in the end, through Luke and the New Republic. But with the sequels, the Repiblic is basically destroyed, again, and this time there isn't much set up to it being remade. And Luke falls into the same trap as all the jedi before him, leading to the total destruction of the order, rather than the hopeful reformation ROTJ hinted at. Rey is probably not going to try to train new jedi and there aren't any strong political leaders to try and get the republic going again, at least none they bothered introducing to the audience.
Basically what I'm getting at is that SW is once again creating all these interesting shows that have to ultimately end in the protagonists failing. And I am so tired of that. Like there's only so many times I can sit there and watch characters I love and root for fail again and again. We know Ezra, Sabine, and Ahsoka have to die, and any other jedi trained. Fuck, Grogu and Jacen have to die too, or at least be too far away to impact the events of the sequels. And I don't know about everyone else, but I'm fucking sick of that kind of heartbreak.
(It's so frustrating that they chose to do the sequel trilogy when they did, like why can't SW ever go in order? Is that too much to ask?? It destroys so much potential or even interest in new things, and, at least for me, the outcome of the sequels isn't nearly enough to justify the suffering that has to happen in these new shows.)
This bad batch season so far has been full of great character moments and building up relationships but I think I was expecting less filler for the final season of a show I love so dearly. When we get episodes like the most recent with Fennec, Hunter, and Wrecker going on a little side quest to get a praying mantis instead of actively fighting against the empire and engaging in tension filled moments I feel a bit let down.
Donāt get me wrong Iām loving the season it just seems to be ramping down for no apparent reason other than āwe ran out of ideas to make the empire a threat AND build character.ā
Maybe Iām crazy but I expect more from the man that wrote the siege of mandalore arc for clone wars. Dave Filoni is the leader of my cult and I would never insult him but cmon cowboy hat man, gimme something that will put me on the edge of my seat for 30 full minutes and leave me in shambles.
If Wilco doesnāt have a twin named Roger, we riot.
I think AhsokaĀ has been overcooked and undercooked in Filoniās brain at the same time, I think heās spent so long thinking about this story he wants to tell that heās no longer writing the connections that the story needs, that those of us outside his brain havenāt had the last ten years of simmering with to assimilate into our background noise, while also I think he hasnāt spent enough time really digging into the smaller details. Sabineās character is the epitome of this for meāthereās clearly soĀ much thought heās given her in this show, the little details in that room that are so packed full youād need to pause the video to see everything, where you can see Ezraās helmet or Sabineās helmet on the quick pan through the scene, where the scene she cuts her hair is a callback to Kanan cutting his hair as heās ready to step back onto a new path, the Ezra hologram that was specifically for her, sheās allowed to be angry and messy, etc., you canāt say that Filoni didnāt give her a ton of thought! But sheās also undercooked in this show because thereās this entire relationshipĀ she had with Ahsoka that takes place off-screen and dramatically changes their dynamic without acknowledging that itās a change for us, the audience. And thereās an entire motivationĀ forĀ āWhy the hell does Sabine want to be a Jedi?ā andĀ āWhy did Sabine set aside her Mandalorian armor?ā thatās just not there because I think Felony has spent so much time thinking about Sabineās journey, about her connection to Ezra and how to weave Ahsoka as a mentor (because of Ahsokaās own issues with masters and apprentices, he wants to play on those themes), that heās been writing this in his head since he first finished the RebelsĀ finaleās script, that heās no longer writing it on the actual paper for us the audience. I canāt shake the feeling that heās spent too long with this story in his head, so heās just made connections that have become part of the scenery for him, like, of course Sabine set aside her armor, of course Sabine was training with Ezraās lightsaber with Jedi training, of course sheās Ahsokaās Padawan, meanwhile IĀ just finished watching RebelsĀ and am going,Ā āDave, what the hell are you talking about, none of that was in the show I just finished speedrunning to watch this show!ā
I found a Filoni/Lucas interaction over the creation of Ahsoka, and I'm chortling.
Basically Filoni wanted Ahsoka to be a serious commentary on war and child soldiers and her lack of preparation because she's not trained for it
But then George basically told him:

So, in other words: She's got this, and lighten the fuck up :D

IS FIVES ALIVE???

Fives, Fox, and The Bad Batch are on the same cover...and the release dates...

IT IS POSSIBLE?? TBB premiere is 70 minutes... We never saw Fox again after he killed Fives and look:

We saw Fox shoot Fives, Fox immediately after he shot Fives, AND THEN HE WAS GONE. HE WASNāT STANDING IN THE CIRCLE. ALL THE HELMETS ARE WHITE. NOT A SINGLE RED HELMET. GUYS-
DAVEEEEEEEEEEEEEE?

And they better refer to her as Ashla because I think thatās vv important character development
Wait just a minute. Ahsoka has been in TCW, Rebels, and Mandalorian. She is Daveās baby. His pride and joy. What are the chances she will make an appearance in The Bad Batch? š§
In The Clone Wars, we had Commander Wolffe and the Wolfpack. In Rebels, we had loth wolves. In The Mandalorian, Daveās cameo character had the last name Wolf.

I am patiently waiting to see how Dave Filoni managed to incorporate wolves into The Bad Batch. I know he did, but how...
The Bad Batch 1x06 spoilersā ļø
Iām sorry but I made this meme, enjoyš

Guysā
Dave Filoni barely posts on social media, and I have no idea how long itās been like this, but look at the manās Twitter bannerā

Itās older Ahsoka and Rex riding what appear to be (Loth) wolvesš³
Concept art for the Ahsoka series?? A return to Lothal??
How can you praise Andor for its nuance in its portrayal of Imperials and the Rebellion, but canāt accept any nuance when it comes to the Jedi, the Sith, and the Force. George Lucas, the literal creator of Star Wars, was the one to introduce the idea that the Jedi werenāt perfect and made many mistakes, and he helped his apprentice Dave Filoni showcase this even more in The Clone Wars, and then Dave continued to expand on Georgeās own ideas about the force in Rebels and his later projects.
So donāt be mad at Dave Filoni or Leslye Headland that the Jedi arenāt perfect, be mad at the literal creator of this franchise. Also, no project has ever made the case āThe Jedi are just as bad as the Sithā. The Sith are very noticeably worse than the Jedi, always.
