Finally erased the background. Like the genius I am, I made the rookie mistake of painting the character art on the same layer as my background wash. Wooooooopsie.
That's alright though, it'll be easy to re-do later and I love the effect I've got for his base skintones and light reflection.
I promise I'm going to paint that hand. I'm working with a decent reference picture now to get the knuckles and anatomy right -- I am, to be honest, very rusty with my visual art and anatomy right now. Come to think of it, I'm not sure I've ever painted a back-view of a shirtless male.
Anyhow... Progress has been made! lots more to do.

Just went crazy mode about mechanical linkages. How the flip am I supposed to translate this motion on a 2d simulation into the 3d so I can make an actual model ;-;
My New Sole Survivor for Fallout 4, Rose ‘Gears’ Elmwood. I’ve yet to create her due to stuff, but I think she’ll be awesome.

Getting further along with this species sheet while trying to work up the nerve to make comics. I’ve got a large chunk of script, at least.
New PFP! Ended up drawing more of my sona because the zine I'm apart of wanted something for the artist credits. I love my crunchy colors.
We are all robots with varying degrees of self awareness; slaves always unto the chemistry of life and existing within a proscribed set of probabilities. Some robots are lucky, others less so, but all exist in the spinning void of infinity with only each other to care for. Fear not our friends the metal monsters, O chemical creatures; for they (like you) did not ask to exist, to tread their weary path until their time is through. Be courteous and kind; hold always the hope they may as you did learn to accept the burden of being.

gives me the idea of a ghost/monster engine that looks normal, albeit a bit battered, only to swing their smokebox door open and a myriad of pipes come bursting out like fucked up tentacles
