Dear trans youth:

I am sorry.

I am so sorry you are facing more and more hatred nationally, which I’m sure is emboldening the transphobes in your life to express more and more hatred personally. I’m so sorry your right to safely exist is seen as “controversial” in so many places. I’m so sorry laws are being passed that serve no other purpose than to harm you.

I’ve always been cis, so I can only imagine how it must feel to have your life mocked and dismissed and so often threatened, targeted as a talking-point by bigots who promote violence against you because it “polls well”.

I’m horrified by the literal, this-is-not-a-joke, actual goddamn genocide already gaining steam in the Northern Hemisphere’s taint-stain I mean South, the US South. I hate that I am watching human rights get rolled back with every election cycle. I am more ashamed of my country every day.

As a Californian I feel like I can’t do much politically, except vote and sign petitions and write long emails to various representatives (find yours here), but I can at least tell you about some resources I know of:

The Office of Transgender Initiative is a San Francisco-based national resource with just, like, pretty much everything. And if they don’t have it, they’ll know where to get it.

This Texas-based nonprofit has counseling and crises guidance.

This Atlanta-based youth group has a crisis hotline, as well as a bunch of other hotlines.

This Maine-based advocacy group can hook you up with everything from literature to social events to legal advice.

This advocacy group has tons of information and counselors, with FAQs for many relevant topics including surgery prep.

This online support group discusses the ins and outs of medical transitioning.

This discord server has several LGBTQIA+ groups.

This risk assessment map can predict just how bad your state might get in the next two years.

This nonprofit can help you find safe housing, free food, legal council, and even a job.

This organization can help you if you’re about to be homeless.

This hotline can help you find a safe place to sleep tonight.

These folks, and these folks, and these folks, can give you free legal advice, including help with emancipating from your parents if you’re a minor.

These folks, and these folks, and these folks, can also give you free legal advice, including help with seeking asylum or refugee status.

This Lifeline is a wealth of suicide prevention resources.

And every word in this sentence links to an online support group.

I wish I could do more. I wish there were more resources out there for you. (And if you know of any more, please reblog with them!) I wish we lived in a better world.

I am so sorry you have to face all this, but please, please remember that you are not facing it alone. You have allies.

We see you.

We are fighting for you.

Please don’t give up hope.

Happy Transgender Day of Visibility!!!

Whether you’re…

A trans man or trans woman

Nonbinary or genderqueer

Agender, bigender, trigender, polygender, or pangender

A demigirl, demiboy, or deminonbinary

Androgyne or intergender

Maverique, cassgender, or neutrois

Genderfae or genderfaun

A xenogender, neurogender, or MOGAI gender

Or any other genders

…You and your gender are valid and amazing, and no one can change that or take that away from you! You know who you are better than anyone else does!! Don’t let others who try to invalidate you bring you down; you are everything, and their words mean nothing! Celebrate yourselves and your trans and nonbinary siblings today because you deserve it! I hope you all have a safe and wonderful TDOV!!💙💗💛💜🖤

update to my last post- i think im all 3- and maybe some others???? call me a boy, girl, both, an enby or somethin else, give me masculine or/and fem compliments, whatever

im always neutral/aporagender, but my boygirl energy fluctuates, so one side might overpower the other one day, or maybe the boygirl energy might feel low one day and i just (mostly) feel neutral/aporagender the next

tl;dr:

are you a boy or a girl?

im the whole package but bought from wish.com

to me, gender is confusing. its a interesting, somewhat difficult yet somewhat fun preformance.

to me, gender is just terms im fine with being called. im fine with being called a girl or boy, or anything of the like. im fine with any terms or compliments being used on me. one day i might prefer some terms over the other, and another i might prefer the opposite.

to me, i just like the terms "boy" and "girl" but to me, they're just names. i might rock with girl more one day, and boy the next. usually im fine with both equally, and sometimes i dont prefer any of these.

i might want to wear more feminine clothes one day, and more masculine the next. usually i dont really see my clothes as gendered. (and everyone can wear what they want regardless of their gender (or lack of one) although my clothes usually dont affect my gender, sometimes it does. like something i wear traditionally seen as feminine might make me prefer traditionally feminine terms one day. or even something i listen to might make me prefer more traditionally masculine terms. (outside things affect my gender :p)

yeah that was just a little thing i wanted to share as an update to the last gender post i made! thanks for readin!

(Everyone has a different experience with gender - these are just mine :p)

hmm..maybe im omnigender, but not with *all* genders? because i use a bunch of labels since they fit me, but not all of them- although i like some more than i like others. and the amount i prefer/like some over others often changes (or fluxuates - i have used the label polygender flux and i still use it btw :D)

this relates to my previous post abt how i experience gender, btw.

(my previous post abt how i experience gender for reference:) https://www.tumblr.com/hnyflwrr/743400924421259264/to-me-gender-is-confusing-its-a-interesting?source=share

I may not be out to all of my biological family, but my chosen family have known everything about my queer identity as soon as I did and have consistently helped me and loved me. Bio family may suck. Chosen family is out there for everyone and I hope you can find them. They may just save you like mine have unknowingly saved me!

God, this is so relatable, especially the part about transitioning to be accepted. When I was openly non-binary, not many people took me seriously. People just saw me as my AGAB and that's it, no pushing of they/them pronouns and outward insistence that I wasn't my AGAB changed that. Eventually, I snapped: I have the resources available to me and I DO want the changes, so why not transition and try to pass as a binary person?

It was fine at first. People stopped forcing me into the box of my AGAB, and instead started forcing me into another box... one that was less cramped. I lost sight of my true identity, hiding behind this mask that I so meticulously created to blend in. But... that started getting suffocating, too.

It's comforting to know I'm not the only one.

'a man can't be a woman' watch me

All Trans men are men, but not all Trans men aren’t women.

All Trans women are women, but not all Trans women aren’t men.

Gender can be far more complex and less binary for many folks 💗
