Kiyotaka: Hes majoring in design, (Costume, logo, art, etc) So he made all the costumes along with Junko. Also hes Bisexual, trans (genderfluid mainly identifies as male.).( siblings: Peko, Kirigiri, Kirumi, and half siblings with Yasuhiro)

Junko: Started the project with Murkro and does most of the Technical shit. Majoring in Design with Taka. She’s Bisexual and a sweet heart in real life!

Murkro: Her death was an inside joke of when she and Junko swapped places in class for a day, they got half way through before their teacher (Monokuma aka Mono) found out :C She's majoring in Music and takes Self defense. She had Aroace but thought she had a crush on Makoto (she didn't have a lot of friends growing up soooo)

Makoto: Art and Music! He got into the school by a lottery scholarship so they added it to his character! (Kaede in real life cant play the piano so it was Makoto who played her songs!) Hes straight and acesexual!

Kirigiri: Majoring in Science and Math because she a smart girl. She’s a lesbian but if anyone (Normally Byakuya ‘jokingly’) flirts with him, she’ll scream “DONT FLIRT WITH MY BOYFRIEND TOGAMI!” It’s now an inside joke. She’s lesbian and trans (She's siblings with Taka, Peko and Kirumi. She's not with Yasuhiro TECHINALLY. ) 

Celestia: LESBIAN (she's dating Kirigiri). Probably the most like her character.  Grand Bois Chéri Ludenberg is her real cat and she loves him to death.  Majoring in Art and Music and helped with Kaede’s songs. :)

Yashuhiro: Everyone is 20 or something in this because collage duh. But hes 29 or something. Hes half siblings with Taka. BEST FRIENDS WITH LEON!!!! Can and WILL bash anyone who ships him with his classmates. THEY ARE 17-19 AND HE IS 21 THEN 29 IN CANON SO N.O. Hes AroAce. 

Hifumi: Absolute sweetheart in real life, and he disliked later on in life how his character was portrayed. ‘We were doing it as a fun thing to do in collage, as a gag, and its a gives a really bad rep on plus size folks, if i we knew how much popularity it would get, I would make the character differently.’ Hes straight and cis. He majors in Art.

Toko: BISEXUAL I C O N. Majoring books. Best friends with Taka and Byakuya. She actually has DID and was she and Sho were fine somewhat with the way it turned out, still wished they had more actuate reputation, but oh well. Bisexual and Bi gender She/them pronouns. They is also trans . She has anxiety and has never shied away from telling people, and spreding awareness. She helped a lot of people with her platform and books :)

Aoi: Majors in Bio! Absolute sweetie, wont hesitate to cut a bitch. She Taka, Sukura and Kirigiri are the only ones who know how to actually cook edible food lol. Panromantic Ace.

Leon: Music! He goes for more punk rock like his character, and hes good friends with Mondo and Chi! He worked with lighting a lot so he was one of the first to go so he could help with the set more.

Sayaka: Music as well! Sings a lot and does covers on her YouTube channel. Was working with Makoto, Leon, Celestial to do the music but mainly she and Leon did it so they went away first. She is Questing and Ace!

Chirio: Majoring in Programing and uses they/them pronouns. Their ‘Character gender revel’ was never meant to be taken that seriously. It was their way of coming to terms with their gender. A little comfort if you will.

Yasuhiro: He works as a intern, those students studding to be a teacher, Hes nothing like his character and is really smart :) He is cis and straight.

Byakuya:  Majoring in Science and Business! His characters backstory is a lot like in real life, was born in a rich family and his dad was borderline abusive. He struggled a lot to become Toko’s friend because of the whole thing that happened with his sister. (Toko is nothing like her personality wise, but triggers are always there.) But he managed to go to therapy and work on the issues. There are still bad days but hes getting better :) He was friends with Taka from a young age so he actually had a support system unlike his character in the game. The main reason Togami survived in Danganronpa was a way to help him with his past, and because the character didn’t have a support system like real life Togami; he was portrayed as heartless. In real life he’s a sweet heart! Hes Biromantic and trans!

Mondo: Struggled with his masculinity and Taka and Leon helped him with it a lot. He was able to get therapy because of Daiya’s death (This happened in real life as well) and the reason why his death was so silly was because he wanted to not have a serious death; unlike most of the cast. Hes just a funny and nice dude to hang out with. :) He is trans and Pansexual.

Sakura:  She is really fucking strong and is dating Aoi. She is the most like her character and is a sweet heart. When Byakuya’s sister started harrsing him online, she helped him get rid of her and let him stay at her house while he cut ties with his family. She is panromantic ace. She teaches Self defense at her dojo :)

Monokuma: Their favorite teacher! He helped them a lot when they pursed the project and often joke about him being a villan because of how much homework he gives, so they made him the villan! He pretty much adopted everyone who has bad parents (Toko, Byakuya, Leon, Sayaka and Celestia) parents who were gone a lot (Taka, Kirigiri, Yasuhiro, Peko ,and Kirumi) and co-parents the rest :)

As an Indian (from India not Indigenous) trans man, I relate heavily to the experience of having my masculinity stripped, but for different reasons. Indian men are generally viewed as weak, and maybe my submissive in a sense. They are thought to have strange accents, can’t speak in English properly, are not fit and generally weak. One time somebody told me (and they totally believed it) that “Indian men were at the bottom of the sexual food chain, no one likes them”. They fold their hands when White people come into their country and house, and are there to take the profanities of their (White) boss.

But! On the flip side, Indian men are actually also hyper masculine rapists. They can’t hide their lecherous eyes from your innocent daughters, who knows if she’ll be safe with an Indian man? Don’t you know how racist they are? They’ll call you the n-word as soon as they meet you! They’re scammers and cheaters, hide your purse from them so they don’t pickpocket you, and don’t forget how all call scams are actually Indian! Queer Indian Men? Not fucking possible, didn’t you know that Indian men are backwards and not progressive in their thinking at all, they could never be something as cool as being queer!!! The above portion is making fun of of what I’ve heard and seen in my life. I believe Indian men have the experiences of having their masculinity deconstructed were they are generally submissive and weak to outer forces, and then reconstructed to seem like inhuman monster where women are put in danger just by having a Desi man near her. I know this because I have experienced many (if not all of these things listed above) and have seen fellow Desi men experience it too. And because of how much people (of all political aisles let’s by honest) seem to hate Indians, and going even more specifically, Indian men, many simply refuse to acknowledge it.

I thought that the main similarity between your post and mine is that East Asian men are stripped of their masculinity due to forced feminization, Indian (and South Asian) men also experience this uprooting of their identity but in a different form. I also believe that Indian men have to work hard to be seen as masculine in enough, but not so much that they end up being seen as a danger. It ends up being a delicate line to dangle.

I am going to get so much fucking hate for this but as an ethnically East Asian (Chinese, but born in and lives in the US) trans man, I feel like my ethnicity and gender intersect in two different ways that no one either cares about or knows about

From anime characters to K-pop idols, so many East Asian men seem to be regarded as feminine either for their dress or mannerisms with absolutely no consideration of how different cultures might display masculinity. Granted, I've been guilty of this too in the past, due to being born and raised in a western country, but I'm trying to be better about it. Like. Asian guys are not your "shy uwu Kpop idols" or "cute gay coded anime characters". Also: the "small Asian dick" jokes. Goddamn.

I feel like I shouldn't have to explain how this goes double for Asian trans men like me who want to present as masculine in a gender conforming way. But since this is Tumblr dot fucking com, I'm gonna have to. I feel like I have to work twice as hard to be seen as masculine as anyone who isn't Asian and/or is a cis guy because of not only the paragraph above but because of the parts I was born with. Seriously I did not spend years escaping femininity just to have randos insist I stay with it from multiple angles.

Back on my bullshit again because I’ve been playing Hades again.

So Zagreus is Hades 2. My unfortunate suspicion is that Zagreus is going to face the unfortunate fate of his mythological counterpart in pet 2.

In traditional Greek Myth Zagreus was the son of Persephone by rape of her Father Zeus. Obviously this is different in the game but hang on there. So Zagreus, when the gods faced their predecessors the Titans, was ripped apart. Now in the older myths he was put back together and was reformed into Dionysus. Now this is the older version of the myths and it changed over time but in some of the only myths referring to Zagreus this is his fate. So obviously he won’t become Dionysus because he’s already in game so it might be Melinoe has to put him back together.

It would also explain why he is not in the trailer because as much as he and his dad had a strained relationship Zagreus wouldn’t just sit aside whilst his father was trapped in Hades. Firstly because he is the only one that can cause his old man trouble and secondly all his loved ones are in hades. It could also explain why a lot of the more powerful members of Hades aren’t fighting with Melinoe.

Here’s another thing. Melinoe, in tradition, is the representation of nightmares and madness. Again Persephone was raped by Zeus, this time isn’t the form of Hades, and she ‘sprung forth from Persephone’s fury.’

So, idea of vengeance there. She also has a strong association with gods that assist with the ferrying of souls to Hades which may explain why she can get in and out so easily. It also explains why Hecate is the one to train her instead of her brother or parents. Hades is chained up, so presumably so it lost of the Hades household, but knowing poor Zagreus he put up a fight which got him torn apart, not killed but torn apart so he could be neutralised. Because that fella is DETERMINED.

Hekate is of course a titan in her own right and ridiculously scary at that. So is Nyx but she is possibly also being kept down by Zagreus being torn apart and essentially held hostage. So are probably her children and the furies.

Zagreus reunited the family but if he was torn apart they probably were as well. So maybe part of our quest is that Melinoe has to put him back together in order to bring the house of Hades back together or something like that?

Just rambling ideas but I kind of like it as much as I hate the idea of poor Zagreus being used as a hostage to keep the House of Hades quiet and put down.

Personally, we're really not bothered by the occasional quip of "men are trash" or "I hate men" or whatever. We recognize that they come from a place of trauma and genuine expression of frustration. We fully believe people are allowed to express their pain in imperfect ways.

What we take issue with is repeated patterns of behavior in which men are treated as inherently more dangerous or untrustworthy than any other gender. Keep in mind, that this is different than pointing out common behaviors of misogyny from men, that stems from being raised in a patriarchal society.

I'm talking specifically about the rhetoric that posits that men are innately and irrevocably more violent or bigoted. This is gender esssntialism. This is what we are talking about when we bring up people who treat men badly on the basis of their gender. Treating real human beings as if their gender is just some curse that poisons their entire being.

This phenomenon overlaps very strongly with other forms of bigotry. Black men being treated as dangerous thugs - yes, because they're Black, but also specifically because they're Black men. Their masculinity is seen as violent and unsafe, and gender essentialism is weaponized against them more violently because of how it overlaps with racism.

When trans men come out, and are told that taking testosterone will make us angry, aggressive, and most importantly - ugly and infertile. When we experience corrective rape, have our life saving medications taken away from us. This is gender essentialism, overlapping with transphobia and misogyny. It's not just that we're transitioning, it's specifically that our masculinity is treated as more unsafe, more untrustworthy, more vile, because we're trans men.

And this does absolutely start with the way we treat cis men. Dehumanizing cis men on the basis of their gender, will inevitably lead to you dehumanizing marginalized men. You will contribute to the marginalization of men of color and trans men. You will actively contribute to racism and transphobia, because the oppression that we experience is intertwined with that same gender essentialism.

This is what intersectionality is. You cannot perpetuate gender essentialism and expect it not to have broader impacts on other marginalized groups. Because these forms of oppression intersect! They can't be separated from each other. You can't seperate the harm that Black men experience from the idea that men are inherently dangerous. You can't seperate the harm that trans men experience from the idea that testosterone makes you violent. Your ideas about men do not exist in a vacuum.
