♡ you decided that it was a good idea to head to mondstadt and drink some of the well known dandelion wine, you didn’t expect to get drunk out of your mind, but one glass turned into two, and so on

♡ when you stumbled out of angel’s share, you slurred out your lovers name. xiao didn’t expect for you to be drunk, he thought that you got ambushed by hilichurls and couldn’t handle them all by yourself

♡ sighing, xiao walked up to you to pick you up bridal style, only to be stopped by you placing your hands on his chest, which low key flustered him, you then proceeded to say something that made him extremely flustered

“mister... I have the sweetest lover ever! his name is xiao and he is so handsome and cute and I’m so in love with him. he deserves the world, I would die for him!”

♡ xiao turned away from you so that you wouldn’t get a chance to see his tomato red face. sober or not, xiao didn’t want you seeing his flustered face, he was an adeptus for crying out loud!

♡ once xiao managed to calm down and de fluster himself, he turned back around and quickly picked you up then teleported you both back to wangshu inn. he placed you down on your shared bed (even though he doesn’t have to sleep) and turned around to leave, only for you to grip onto his hand, giving him puppy dog eyes

♡ he decided to comply to your begging, so that you wouldn’t become restless, and so that he could receive hugs and maybe some kisses, he placed your head onto his chest so that you could go to sleep which the help of his steady heartbeat. once he was sure you were knocked out, he placed a small kiss onto your forehead, humming in content

THOMA, THE KAMISATO ESTATE HOUSEKEEPER

thoma knows that your love language is physical touch, partially due to the fact you’ve been dating for a few months and he’s quite an observant man.

he’s also observed that lately, you haven’t been as touchy, and he misses when you hold him and give him kisses on his head. he decided to talk with you about it when he came back home from being a housewife his house keeping duties.

“( name )? I’m home” thoma greeted, shutting the door behind him as quietly as possible, thinking you had maybe fallen asleep already, it is quite late after all.

toeing his shoes off, he shuffles to your shared room, only to freeze hearing some sniffling from the other side. thoma debated wether or not to barge in, deciding to comfort you instead of leaving you to cry on the bed.

thoma opened the door, before walking towards you and embracing you into a warm hug. you placed your head into the crook of his neck, desperately grabbing onto the shirt to somewhat ground you.

thoma shushed you, rubbing circles against your back. “do you want to talk about it?” thoma whispered, loud enough for you to hear. the only thing he heard was a muffled “I don’t want to be clingy to you anymore, isn’t it bothering you?” you sniffled. thomas’ heart shattered, of course you’re not a bother! he enjoys receiving your affection, no matter how small or big. placing a small kiss onto your forehead, he murmured “no, no, of course you’re not a bother! I love you so much and whenever you cling to me, it actually helps me relax knowing that I have my partner with me no matter how tough things get.” looking up at him with teary eyes, trying to rub off the remaining tears, thoma helping.

“I’m going to tell master ayato that I’m taking the day off tomorrow, I’m sure he won’t mind.” you were about to protest, being cut off by thomas’ lips on yours for a small peck. “go to bed love, tomorrow we can just spend the day in together.” thoma explained, laying down and letting you lay on his chest.

XIAO, CONQUERER OF DEMONS

xiao wasn’t really into pysical touch, especially in public. the slightest touch from you makes his face tinge a bright red. xiao will never admit this out loud, but he looks forward to you giving him cuddles and kissing his face.

however, that didn’t happen when he got back from his duties. at first he brushed it off as you being tired, but he eventually became suspicious that it wasn’t that, and something more.

mortals are confusing, so confusing to him. but you help him understand better, and so do other mortals that he talks with now and then. he decides it’s best to confront you about this.

xiao waited at the wangshu inn for you, as usual. when you met up with him, you noticed that he seemed a bit off. xiao sighed, motioning for you to sit across from him. “you haven’t been your usual self lately. usually when you see me, you would hug me or hold my hand or kiss my face all over, but you haven’t done that in a while. why is that?” he asked, eyes widening when you let out a sob, tears collecting at your eyes. xiao instantly placed you onto his lap, gently stroking your hair.

“aren’t I a bother to you? I’m so clingy all the damn time, I don’t want to make you uncomfortable or be a burden.” you managed to sniffle out, refusing to place your hands onto him. xiao glared, not at you, but at himself. he should’ve tried to reciprocate at least once, but he was too unsure of what to do or how to do so.

“no, you’re not bothersome. I’m just not sure how mortals work, or how to properly love someone and show affection. I look forward to your hugs every day when I see you.” he mumbled out, his face flushed a slight pink.

you gripped onto his back slightly, giving his neck a small kiss. you couldn’t see it, but xiao had a small smile gracing his usually stoic face.

GOROU, THE DOGGY GENERAL

gorous’ love language is also physical touch, he’s got dog genetics and dogs can be very affectionate. he likes to de stress after work by coming home and just letting loose whilst you smother each other in affection.

he noticed how you would hesitate to reciprocate when he hugged you or gave you a small kiss. he confronts you about it instantly.

“honey, I’ve noticed you’ve become a bit less affectionate and touchy, is everything ok?” gorou whimpered, ears flat on his head and tail droopy. you shook your head in response, climbing onto his lap and letting out the water works.

gorou helped soothe you by rubbing your back and occasionally kissing your cheek. “I just feel like I’m a burden. I just keep on clinging onto you like my life depends on it.” you hiccuped.

gorou cood at you, happily exclaiming “I love your affection so much! it helps relax me and I enjoy cuddling with you and giving you kisses, I enjoy when you cling onto me like a koala too, it’s adorable!” you noticed how his ears had perked up and his tail was now thumping onto the couch, it looked like it was going to fly off if it went any faster.

you yawned, the break down making you tired and sleepy. gorou picked you up, walking to your shared bedroom and plopped you down, jumping in afterwards. gorou then embraced you from behind, pecking the back of your neck making you giggle slightly.

you decided to give xiao a visit, after being told by verr goldet that he’s seemed quite overwhelmed recently, and hasn’t been acting like himself

you also brought his favourite dish, almond tofu, thinking that maybe it would help him cheer up, even slightly

heading up to the balcony, you looked around for the adeptus. there was no sign of him anywhere, which confused you. usually he would come right up to greet you

turning around, about to head back downstairs, you halted hearing a cry. the cry sounded like a baby or a small toddler. parental instincts kicking in, you searched for the source of the sound

almost dropping the dish of almond tofu in surprise, in front of you was a very small yaksha, who you recognised as xiao

looking around, you picked him up. he only babbled in response, his small hands reaching for your face. you melted on the spot at the sight of him, he was so cute!

you had to find someone who knew xiao well from a young age, somehow managing to find zhongli

telling him what happened, he nodded his head in understanding. zhongli then explained how sometimes when xiao gets very overwhelmed or stressed out, he will revert back into an infant. it eventually wears off, but it’s unknown when that’ll happen

don’t worry, you won’t be alone looking after the now infantized yaksha, zhongli will also help when he can. he’ll also spend a ton of his childe’s money on a pretty massive morax plushie, which xiao seemed to be attached to the hip to

miraculously, a few weeks later, xiao turned back into his normal self. unfortunately it happened whilst zhongli was feeding him with him in his lap

xiao apologises profusely when that happened, zhongli obviously didn’t care, he’s been through worse after all

you now have your boyfriend back to normal. try not to tease him too much or remind him of certain stories zhongli told you about xiao when he used to actually be younger. if you do end up teasing him too much, he will either dissapear in a puff of smoke, or he will be burning up in the face, and will hide his face in the crook of your neck

zhongli may be technically human but his dragon instincts/senses are still there, which means he can sense when your period’s going to come before you do

as soon as you start groaning in pain about the cramps, he will not hesitate to run to bubu pharmacy to get all your needs taken care of

he will also brew you some tea to help with the cramps, which is just HFGGDJGH

will also buy you as many sweets/snacks as you want (poor childe’s mora)

if you want to, then he’s alright with laying with you and purring to help ease the pain in a way (I’ve heard that cats purrs are healing to people, so I decided that zhongli does the same thing, u can’t change my mind)

luckily hu tao let him off for a bit to take care of you, cause she too knows how agonising periods can get. she told him he’s going to have to work during some of the holidays in return but anything for u <33

when you’re on your period, there’s only one way to explain how xiao reacts

panic

he doesn’t know how to deal with the pain you’re in, which low key makes him feel useless and like he doesn’t deserve you in his life :(

even tho you’re the one in pain, you’re going to have to reassure him and try to show him the ropes

he surprises you with some pain medication and a heat pad along with some sweets and snacks

also he asks if he can brush your hair to help you relax a bit more

which is super soothing, he’s surprisingly good at brushing your hair

when you gave him a flower crown, he accepted it, he seemed confused at first, muttering about ‘human influences on adepti nowadays’, but he actually wears it whenever possible (just not in front of people, he doesn’t want them knowing he’s actually a big softie)

once accidentally forgot to take it off when he had a small meet up with zhongli, safe to say, xiao was a flustered mess after that encounter. whenever he sees zhongli he can’t stop thinking about that encounter, still haunts him till this day

appreciates that you made flower crowns for his adepti friends that passed centuries ago, he placed them in places that they used to frequent

ZHONGLI

he wears it 24/7, you can’t change my mind

initially thinks you’re giving her a snack, but then when you explain she’s suppose to wear it, she does so

she asks you how to make flower crowns/bracelets cause she’s intrigued by their existence

she’s a quick learner so she quickly learns how to make a flower crown. sadly she sometimes breaks them due to her strength

XIAO

Xiao was more than pleased as you explored Liyue with him. A small smile of content was on his lips while running through Mt. Tainhen collecting materials. Then you stopped his movements at an all too familiar building. A statue inside the building brought back memories. Those memories causing rare tears in Xiao’s eyes, and then that's when he registered the song you were playing in the background.

“Don’t worry, don’t worry, it’s okay I will make you smile”

What did that mean? It caught Xiao’s attention, and he knew you cared for him. If you didn’t then why would you spend so much time building him? Why would you make all those comments of sympathy during quests that involved his emotional vulnerability? Why did you bring him to Pervases’ shrine? So many unanswered questions swarmed Xiao’s mind.

He thought back to the lyric, and he looked into your eyes. They held so much sympathy. He realized you were comforting him, thinking he wanted to see an old friend even though they passed. And that lyric was your reassurance. 

You wanted to make him happy. That's all you ever wanted for him, and it didn't go unnoticed. It explained why you took so much care in building him. The tears didn't subside, in fact they only increased at the realization that you cared so deeply for him. Only mumbled words slipped past his lips to which you couldn't hear due to the code.

“Your dedication is admirable, creator… I wish to repay it.”

KAZUHA

Kazuha was just standing in a very serene area in Inazuma. For whatever reason, you stopped moving around, seemingly more focused on the music in the background. Kazuha was very amused, deciding to play along on the leaf he found. He stopped as soon as he started with his focus more caught up on the current song playing in the background. You seemed to be mumbling a specific lyric to yourself.

“I held up my heart to you Give it back someday, be gentle, okay?”

His body stiffened, and he looked at you through the screen. He felt both honored and concerned. You wanted to give him your heart, but you seemed worried about him hurting you. Kazuha would never do such a thing. You were the creator; he only had respect for you.

He wanted nothing more than to keep your heart safe and warm. He is very familiar with protecting people. The concern he held was the thought that you had given your heart to others, but they didn't treat you right. They didn't give you the care you needed.

The sad look on your face only made his heart ache more. He wanted to take care of you more than anything. If not for the screen keeping you both apart he would be soothing you. His pride mixed with his concern. You wanted him to take care of you.

“Your heart is a treasure, and I’d treat it with more care than my sword.”

WANDERER

Wanderer was elated that you chose to have him on the field. Granted it was just for defeating weak monsters for materials, but who was he to question you? All he cared about was being useful to you. Wanderer usually tuned out the music you listened too. It was typically something to keep you busy while you played, but this particular song caught his attention.

“Why do I want to be loved? Why do I want to love?”

Were you asking him a question through song? Or was it something else? Whatever it was, the sadness was evident on your facial features. Your emotional venerability was something that Wanderer was unprepared to deal with. Emotional venerability in general was something Wanderer wasn’t very familiar with. 

He wanted to try to be there for you, though. You showed him the light of his new life, one without pain and one where he could grow from his past. He wanted to give back to you. He looked at your saddened face with adoration. There was only one answer to the question you asked.

He would love you to the end of Teyvat. His loyalty is yours because he owes you his whole life. You’re the creator who brought him hope. Even through his arrogance and indifference there was still so much love for you. He only mumbled one thing, and he was so glad you couldn’t hear it from the screen.

“I’ll love you… Because you guided me from the wretched life I used to have.”

i would imagine that asking him out is difficult, yeh? he’s got a whole lot of that “karmic debt,” so I would imagine that there’s a lot holding him back (and maybe even more).

this kinda turned out to be and short sad fic with a fluffy ending ( ˊᵕˋ )

When Xiao first met you he brushed you off and treated you like every other mortal that he’s encountered. It wasn’t until you kept coming back to talk to him, sometimes with almond tofu, that he noticed you were different from others

At first he kept trying to ignore you, hoping you would just go away like all the other mortals did. But that proved to be useless after your 12th visit. He eventually started to respond to your silly little rambles and stories, and over time he looked forward to your almost daily visits to the Wangshu inn

It wasn’t until you confessed that you grew feelings for him that he started to overthink about his feelings for you and how they would affect your safety.

He can’t have feelings for you! He’s a dangerous Yaksha and you’re a delicate mortal that could perish at any moment! What if his karmic debt rubbed off on you? What if he was putting you in danger by simply being around you! He couldn’t stand the thought of losing you… After a long night of thinking, he decided it was best for the both of you that he stopped all communication with you.

It started off with him cutting your almost daily visits into weekly visits by avoiding you, which eventually turned into monthly visits until he was avoiding you all together.

When you realized that he was avoiding you on purpose you were heart broken. Was it because you confessed? Did he not feel the same? Thoughts started to fill your head

“Of course he didn’t feel the same! Why would he love someone like you?”

It had been 1 week since completely he stopped talking to you Xiao was reminiscing on past memories of you. How you would smile when he shared his almond tofu with you, or how you would tilt your head a little to the side when you didn’t understand his sarcastic remarks, and how you would get a sparkle in your eyes when he invited you to clear out hilichurl camps with him.

He felt an ache in his heart when he would think of you. He knew he missed you but he couldn’t risk putting you in danger. It wasn’t until he couldn’t control the sadness in his heart that he decided to check up on you.

So he teleported outside your house “It’s just one visit.” Xiao said to himself. He walked up to your front door with his heart racing and eager to see you again

Just as xiao was about to knock on your door, you opened it A look of surprise was on your face as you looked at Xiao. You didn’t expect him to be standing outside your house.

Xiao also had a surprised look on his face, but not for the same reason. Xiao felt a wave of guilt hit him as he saw your tired puffy red eyes, and cheeks wet with tears. It was clear that him avoiding you had done more bad than good. He felt horrible

"Xiao? What are you doing-”

before you could finish your sentence Xiao (much to your surprise) pulled you into a hug.
