I can't sleep😵 I drew some turkey vultures (top row) and a harpy/siren (bottom row) today (still a work in progress). Think I'm getting on the right track of where I want to take my harpy/siren design, sort of a very speculative-evolution/cryptid/animal misidentification way, but keeping some mythological/fantasy aspects to it. There's two morphs of the harpy; one mainland based, the harpy, and one marine/island based, the siren. Still working on details and origin story for them. Due to a catastrophe, the harpy, relative of turkey vultures with a pair of inflatable chest sacks and a beautiful call, was forced to inhabit a chain of fey-touched, small islands. The lack of predators and abundance of easy pickings in form of island creatures and miles of shoreline to comb for washed up creatures, made the harpy grow in size, and ferocity. When island resources declined, and competition rose, the harpy sought after food at sea, where the only abundant creature were weary sailors. The fey-touched islands' arcane radiation made the now ferocious and once again desperate harpy, rapidly evolve to take advantage of this resource. Behold! The revised design of the modern harpy! Revised my design from yesterday and realised that the previous post featured the "classic" harpy, the harpy that inhabited the archipelago and lived like a pretty normal vulture. This version is the man-eating, "temptress" of the sea, and the scurvy arial thief, stealer of feasts of the mainland. This is the modern harpy. Harpy design is getting along now. Started painting the tiny full body profiles, and am on 2nd layer of paint for the head profiles. If you look in the bottom left and right corner you can catch some bird tidd- aah inflatable display wattles..

Not sure if image quality is that good? But here's the finished harpy, coloured with watercolours! I'm not working with watercolours that much, but I enjoy it, it's just scary to work with it compared to say digital colouring, as you can fuck up and then that's that drawing gone. Anyone got any tips on straightening the paper out? Just scan it? Laminating it? I know my paper's not really meant for getting wet, so I'd be happy to take tips on what to paint on too 😋 Anyway, here you can see that the modern harpy has taken pre-existing traits from the classic harpy, and made it look more humanoid. It's skin has also gotten less orange, and its head more compact, bringing the facial features closer and making it look more humanoid. In broad daylight it looks like an ugly hag at best. An art cover for an au I'm making. Basically in here it's about a young sun god who was trying to befriend a cold hearted son of Khione. It's one of those stories where they become friends to lovers thing :)

Zephyrus and Apollo along with their children, the twins Urion and Soren and their youngest Solace.

Their roles and jobs:

Urion/Ocarion is the god of Life, keepers of the doors of Elysium, reincarnation, children and birds.

Soren/Veronica is the goddess of clouds, sky, wind, children and birds.

Solace/Solacia doesn't have an official role yet but one of them is that he is the protector of mythical creatures and probably animals.

The Storks sending people babies thing are one of the jobs that needs to have both Urion and Soren. While Soren makes the body of the baby out of clouds, Urion will give life to it. That's why they both are the god and goddess of children. The only way to know that if the stork is one that helps them send the babies to their rightful parents, they will have a symbol on their right wing that represents the twins.

Died of being killed by the war along with her husband and child.

Summary: Artemis always knew that her precious little sunshine is her reincarnation of her twin brother, Apollo. It sadden her when she had to sent him to Camp Half Blood. It's prophecy after all. It's bound to happen. What she didn't expect was that sending her son to CHB would not only bring back a very ancient love but also bring back a friendship that has been saperated for a long time.

A mini comic I did for the about Apollo falling in love with a cold hearted son of Khione.

Basiccaly in this comic, Artemis is questioning why her brother would still b together with the son of Khione(I decided to name him Marshall for now :/) even though Khione had threaten him that if anything happened to the demigod when he is at war, he would face the consequences. So, Marshall got turned into ice and is now trapped at the bottom of the ocean, Apollo is in a coma untill the demiogd is set free and Artemis is suffering.

I once made a story where Apollo did something to anger Zeus and his punishment was that he will be isolated from everyone (kinda like Calypso... ish). He is basically trapped in a forest that is gloomy and depressing and his feet is chained, so that he can't walk very far.

His only source of information to the outside world is a yellow and gold minature earth.

Basically he chooses a place (expl: CHB) and his surroundings will change into an illusion of that place. Basically he can see everything on earth.

But the sad thing is that, he can only watch and hear. He can't interact with them and everytime he tries to touch someone/something, he goes right past them, as if he's like a ghost. Very sad I know.

And also the fact that even the gods don't know where he is. It's like as if he disappeared from the face of the earth.

This went on for like.... idk... centuries I guess? All I know is that he is a very Very sad and lonely boy.
