Hellaverse Moxxie - Tumblr Posts

I just want to add that this will probably happen, It's been confirmed a future episode will have a flashback with Millie and Chaz so there's a chance that could factor into it somehow, one way or another we will get Millie centric content.

There's few things I'd like to potentially see in future Helluva Boss stuff (and likely will imagine to happen at some point even if we don't see it in the show itself), but there's one thing that I kind of feel we need to get at some point.

And that is, we need an episode where Millie gets focus...and Moxxie has little to no real involvement. Or, at the very least, he can't be a major part of the plot or conflict. Because ultimately, that's been why Millie's still kind of a flat character, despite being in basically every single episode and having a decent amount of screen time in each of them. Even when episodes offer a pretty easy way to give Millie some real development or attention....Moxxie basically steals the attention from her? Either because the conflict is more focused on how he feels/his development (Harvest Moon Festival and Unhappy Campers), or Millie's motivation in the episode is all about Moxxie (Truth Seekers).

At this point, I really do think the only way Millie will be able to get an episode that really gives her the depth she needs, is if Moxxie is given as small of a role in that episode as possible.

Decided to rant about Striker's character and why I think he works (Warning: This ended up being massive)

Decided To Rant About Striker's Character And Why I Think He Works (Warning: This Ended Up Being Massive)

The best analogy about Striker that I can make is that he isn't really a cowboy, but a comic book villain who themes himself around being a cowboy. Now that I've done the meme-y version, allow me to actually explain.

A lot of people seem to overlook that there is a single thread that holds together Striker's personality, and is the root of most of his characterization. And that thread is a need for respect.

Let's look through his appearances and explore how his obsession manifests:

Harvest Moon Festival:

Decided To Rant About Striker's Character And Why I Think He Works (Warning: This Ended Up Being Massive)

In his first episode, Striker presents himself as a model Wrath imp in order to gain the trust of Millie's family and Blitz. The only person he breaks character around is Moxxie, since he assumes Moxxie's insecurity about not being good enough in the eyes of his in-laws will make him automatically respect someone who they do approve of.

He later breaks character when Blitz catches him, he tries to convince Blitz that they're too good to live their lives around the whims of nobles, he tries to show himself as someone who can get Blitz what he wants, or rather, what Striker thinks Blitz wants, again to seem like someone who's "got it figured out" .

Another note worthy thing is his very professional way of speaking with Stella in both this and the next episode he's in, we'll get back to this later.

Western Energy:

Decided To Rant About Striker's Character And Why I Think He Works (Warning: This Ended Up Being Massive)

The first point of interest is easy to miss the significance of, when breaking into the Richest Cup he makes it as dramatic as possible, he's trying to show himself as dangerous enough to warrant such cocky recklessness while surrounded by goetic demons.

After he takes Stolas we see his hideout which is full of scavenged western imagery that looks like an ominous lair, but upon closer inspection is actually a meager living arrangement for a deeply troubled demon.

His actual rant to Stolas includes a line about nobles taking everything lower class demons care about, showing WHY respect is important to him, he's never felt that he, or the part of society he belongs to, have been respected, or as he later says, all nobles do is try to talk over them.

Striker torturing Stolas shows how his need for respect is reflected in him being an assassin, he thinks he can get respect through fear, that having the most primal form of authority over someone will make him feel more significant. And this is why Stolas and I.M.P. are his greatest enemies, their irreverence makes them the only targets that don't play his game, that remind him of what he really is, a desperate, fragile, hero in his own mind, willing to do whatever it takes to prove his importance, not to others, but to himself.

Once again, he's begrudgingly cordial towards Stella despite his hatred of royals, in an effort to get even a fleeting acknowledgement of his worth. Showing that his belief that he can play into people's minds to get what he wants extends to his emotional wants as well.

Oops:

Decided To Rant About Striker's Character And Why I Think He Works (Warning: This Ended Up Being Massive)

Here we see Striker in a much different light, mostly due to his new employer. First off, he's much more open with his frustration and moments of weakness, despite Crimson actually being physically present there and being able to see and hear everything. I think this is because Crim is a rare example of someone Striker doesn't feel he needs respect from. Crimson is, at least in Striker's eyes, an imp who has found moderate success by mimicking the lifestyle of a royal. He might not show it, but Striker probably resents Crimson just as much as, if not more than, he resents Blitz and Fizz, since Crimson has no actual royal support (that we know of).

Speaking of Blitz and Fizz, in his interaction with them in the cage scene we get the most blatant example of Striker thinking that his victimhood as an imp makes his "accomplishments" more worthy of respect, as he completely skirts around the fact he's the only hybrid out of the three, and we also learn he's aware of all this on at least some level when he threatens Fizzarolli for comparing him to a royal due to his arrogance.

And lastly, the climax when he grabs Fizz and the moment when we get the immortal line "Why is it always a sex thing!?", and why is it always a sex thing? Why do the members of IMP and those close to them not fall for his act? Put simply, it's due to trust, no matter how skilled or intimidating he is, Striker is still a loner with no one and nothing to fall back on beside his own skill. In sharp contrast to this the main cast have strong enough bonds that they know someone will oppose him. For example, Striker's attempt at demoralizing Stolas fails because he didn't think Blitz would trust his employees enough to do the saving.

So, yeah, I think Striker currently has a better thematic through line than any other villain in the series and I'm interested in seeing where they take him next. That being said, I feel Crim could be just as great and will probably make a similar post for him after his third episode.

Does anyone else know what it feels like when you want to dissect the writing of a character and then realize that it would be way better to discuss them in comparison to another character but also know it'll be months before either of them have another focused appearance?

Anyway, I'm fine and not being pissy, at all.

Helluva Boss animatic ideas I'm shocked I haven't seen done yet.

Just some idea I'd like to see someone do

Stella and Andre with audio of the Fischoeder brothers from Bob's Burgers, they basically have the same dynamic with Andre as Calvin and Stella as Felix

Chaz with literally any seen of Aladdin from Twisted, again, they're practically the same character

The dinner with Pop scene from season 2 of The League of Gentlemen with Crimson, Moxxie and Millie

This one will almost definitely happen after the next episode but here it is anyway, Mammon as Big Jack Horner

I imagine Moxxie being the first to point it out and Blitz tells him off but later tells Stolas that Mox is right and they need a proper gig soon but Stolas just gives him a bunch of money and gaslights him about it.

Also, you know that I wrote this right before going to sleep when I forgot that the word "fulfillment" exists. The fuck is wrong with me?

Now Some More Stuff!!!

Every time Octavia tries to talk to Stolas he interrupts her before she can finish a sentence and reacts to what he assumes she was going to say, which is, of course, something that assumes she agrees with his self-pitying view of his life.

An inverse of the ending of Seeing Stars, as in, Loona's occasional aggression towards the rest of the team is resolved (at least partly) through her interaction both with Blitz and with Via.

I'm still working out the Harvest Moon Festival/Pain Games equivalent, but the idea is that Striker participates to act as a diversion for IMP and potentially someone else who could be after Stella and Octavia, speaking of them, they could be disguised as imps in this segment. Maybe Blitz and Moxxie compete together since Striker taunted them both (I like the idea that it takes Striker some time to respect either of them, making him slightly more dynamic and helping with Moxxie's arc and his dynamic with Blitz)

To clarify the last one, the mid segment of the show would have Blitz slowly realizing he's being exploited while he and the team search for the mother daughter duo since Stolas passive-aggressively threatened and/or guilt-tripped Blitz into feeling he has to find them.

Also, to give Mills some actual characterization and more chemistry with Moxxie, she has MAD shop skills, customizing IMP's weapons and later her family tell her she can't be in the Pain Games... Because she' been chosen as the lead organizer, which in Wrath's super rugged nature, means she literally constructs all the event courses herself.

More Song Ideas!

A comedy ensemble number with all of IMP in act 1 with them doing a regular hit.

Another comedic song with Blitz, Moxxie and Striker in the pain games, maybe Millie's family joins in during the chorus. While still comedic, this one would mainly develop Moxxie and to lesser extent, the other guys.

Of course, Stolas has a proper villain song (one that starts with him pouting that Via is mad that he forgot something she was excited for, Azatoth's Tears or otherwise). The song itself would have Stolas lament relatively small things in his life while saying that "Blitzy" makes him forget them, tacitly admitting that he views Octavia as a problem, and how he's happy that Blitz is his and his alone, and that that's perfectly just since it makes up for his own personal suffering.

Both a song and a joke, Moxxie tries to sing to Millie multiple times and gets interrupted each time. However, he only starts the song once, every other time he sings it it's actually the next verse, a non-live viewer could piece it together and the song could be a bonus on the soundtrack.

Rest assured, there will be more to come.

More ideas for "Helluva A Rewritten Musical":

Jokes, Running Gags and Story Moments With A Comedic Twist :

After the Ozzie's equivalent Stolas' actor would wear a different wig after every two scenes, with each having more grey feathers than the last, until, by his final scene, all his hair/feathers are grey

The first time we see the M&Ms is their morning routine, Millie enters the scene first, with curlers/rollers in her hair, then Moxxie enter with curlers/rollers in his hair AND in his sideburns.

Wally appears a few times, he's exactly the same as in the show but has a much deeper voice to contrast with the high-pitched, scratchy voice Don Darryl Rivera does in the actual series

We only see Andre once, during a half and half split of the stage to show his phone conversation with Stella, later, in hiding (Yes, I'm going with that idea for the time being), Via asks why they could ask him for help and Stella reveals he got in hot water for drunkenly hitting on one of his cousins.

If we go down the Strella route, we could have some early bonding when Striker hisses at a minor frustration and Stella very obviously finds it attractive, because both snakes and swans hiss as a defense mechanism. In response to this Octavia let's out a sharp exhale that ends up sounding like a hoot.

A member of IMP pointing out how little actual hits they've been carrying out since getting pulled into the divorce drama, poking fun at the show abandoning it's original premise, maybe build on it by having Stolas be the only character who doesn't seen an issue with that.

Song Ideas (The Good Stuff):

An opening number or at least early song where Blitz sings about how, by running his own business, he has freedom to make good life for himself. The song would immediately be followed by some form of bad news.

A flashback duet between young Stolas and Stella, meeting for the first time, promising to make their situation work. Stella's lyrics make it clear she hopes that she will find some form of personal fufilled-ness in the relationship, while Stolas' make it clear that he plans on taking every chance to distract himself from what will be his family.

Striker having a song where he tries to console Via, because he can tell that she is in no way personally responsible for the shit she's going through, big stepdad energy, slightly more comedic elements towards the end of the song. This would play into Striker's arc, realizing that not all royals ae truly malicious and finding sympathy for them because he comes to view them as too sheltered for their own good.

A climactic duet between Striker and Blitz, after Blitz realizes that Stolas is a complete shitsack, during the song they're fighting over a blessed revolver to see who gets to kill the jizz-soaked feather duster.

That's all I got for now, more to come :D

Very beautiful. Your mind. Your vision.

Especially the meta commentary I NEED that scene to happen

The weight things is that Crimson's design was changed to Moxxie with a fuller figure, until Mammon was introduced, he was the closest the series had to a properly plus-sized significant character. Meaning we have not one, but two characters from the Greed ring who are the only major overweight characters, and their both portrayed as pure villains.

I'm pretty sure that when the beat boards were made Crim was going to live in wrath nd be a sort of big game hunter, but it was changed to Greed, possibly to build up to Mammon being a villain. And though it probably made the episode worse, I am kind of thankful for it. I love the grimy industrial aesthetic so much, you don't even know.

Only way to know for sure how much the plot changed is to see all the beat boards, which likely won't happen, at least for a long time.

And now, by literally no one's demand, Another Reason Why Crimson Doesn't Quite Work!

So you know the song and dance about Moxxie always being called fat, but did you know what Crim looked like in the beat boards?

And Now, By Literally No One's Demand, Another Reason Why Crimson Doesn't Quite Work!
And Now, By Literally No One's Demand, Another Reason Why Crimson Doesn't Quite Work!

A hairy, hulking brute with a more modern fashion sense. This design makes him feel powerful, an active and competent threat. Also notice that Alessio, his bodyguard, seemingly didn't exist yet and weapons were a more prominent motif in his house at this point in production.

But Spindlehorse didn't go with this design, they made him a slightly taller version of his son, who is constantly mocked for his "weight", might I ad, with thicker legs and gave him a bodyguard. They made him a "fatter" pretentious blowhard who needs his cronies to do everything for him.

Maybe this is more weird fatphobia from Spindlehorse, or maybe this was just done to justify him hiring Striker in Oops. Hell, maybe the Crim and Chaz stories were originally 2 different episodes, that would actually explain a lot about the final product. Either way, I we confident that the original version of Crimson Knolastname would have been a much stronger villain, both figuratively and literally.

Look at Blitz smiling obliviously, he’s so cute and silly as always. It’s kinda weird in hindsight that they didn’t just have Loona call in sick or something her absence wasn’t really explained. I know the VA was on break but the writers didnt come up with anything for it.

Ughh it bothers me so much to hear all the potential creativity and original ideas/stories we could’ve had. So many creative minds on the team and it all gets drafted to be a sausage party episode with funnee fuck jokes~

He’s way better there. Sans stache because everyone seems to have the same stache as Striker and he’s better original. I still feel like he’s unnecessary. Moxie was born in wrath grew up in wrath and both his parents were still alive originally, so rewriting his story is really stupid. I actually don’t even know why Crimson couldn’t be a wrath ring imp mafia. Why greed?

The concept probably didn’t have the creepy and ridiculous ‘forced gay marriage’ plot either. That was so incredibly stupid and senseless. That said I really enjoyed most of the episode, the setting was really cool, the green saturated colors and dark lighting were really threatening. But it had to go and make this all about penises…I’m embarrassed that I watch this show sometimes.

I honestly cant comment on the weight thing, I don’t really see the point being made there.

That could've worked, also maybe ditch Crim's homophobia/biphobia and just make him resent Moxxie for relying on weapons.

Then, later, during the climax, Moxxie takes out most of his dad's goons when one manages to knocks his weapon away, which is when Millie joins in and this makes Moxxie realizes that he should at least try to improve in hand-to-hand. This would explain how he was able to take out the random biker gang in Western Energy, which always felt weird to me, like we missed something telling us that Mox didn't want to just rely on weapons.

Maybe make it a point that Moxxie is the one to spare Crimson, simply to not give him the satisfaction of the last thing he sees being his son being as raging and ruthless as he is.

Fixing this show's issues is so easy, fixing a problem gives you the perfect setup to fix two or three more, almost like you're reverse engineering how it was fucked up in the first place.

And now, by literally no one's demand, Another Reason Why Crimson Doesn't Quite Work!

It's actually worse. Blitz's reaction is angry but mostly confused, as in he doesn't realize how Mammon can have such a lack of self awareness.

Whether the writers wanted it to or not, the show has taken the stance of: "Fat shaming is ok, so long as the person you're fat shaming is fatter than you." And I really hope I don't have to explain why that's awful.

Fans when Mammon fat shame Fizz:

What a fat shaming bastard!😡

Fans when Loona fat shame Moxxie:

Ha ha, Loona so funny lol!😂

Helluva Boss Apology Tour review

In retrospect, it's pretty funny that my expectations for this and The Full Moon ended up being reversed, the episode I expected to by focused on character interaction ended up being more action focused, while the episode I thought would be action focused ended up being mostly character interactions.

For those who just want my thoughts on the plot developments: Once again, I'm pleasantly surprised by how Stolas is handled, with a few moments sticking out for currently neutral reasons (it'll make more sense later).

Now, do get to the details:

I felt the opening sequence was slightly longer than needed, but I feel that was somewhat intentional, evoking a sense of unease.

The montage of the bulk of Blitz's apologies is a lovely tribute to what amounts to the first third of the show, this is easily the most callback heavy episode, but I'd say it feels earned given its place in the story. And I simply can't gloss over the brief acknowledgement of all the people who ship Martha and Mayberry, for someone like me, who has a love of those tongue in cheek fandom gags, it's a real good treat.

Speaking of references, don't think I missed Grandpa's cameo when Blitz gets to Earth, oddly enough, it's not even the characters first interactions with the hellaverse, as Brandon's channel has a sketch of Blitz and Moxxie going after Grandpa.

The song was perfectly serviceable, even if I'm not a fan of Bryce Pinkham's voice in general. I'll also take this opportunity to say I loved both the joke of an actual Blitz plush being burned and the brief shot of the last "party" Stolas attended.

The major point of the episode is obviously the conversation between Blitz and Stolas at the party, and I certainly have some thoughts on it. The first moment that stuck out to me was Stolas saying he wants someone to care about him and want him in their life, only for him to clarify a moment later that he meant it romantically feels like it was done to show that he's, at least on some level, aware that he's neglecting Octavia, which I can't wait to see catch up with him, hopefully by the end of the season. The second is when her doubles down on wanting to be wanted, the exact moment when I came up with this question:"Stolas why do you think no one wants you in their life?" And this is exactly what I hope is built on, Stolas has drowned himself in self pity for so long that there's very little to him as a person to the point that no one sees any real benefit in having any relationship with him, not just romantically, but platonically as well.

This is all building to my point, I'm genuinely starting to think that Blitz and Stolas' relationship will ultimately end on a mutually respectful break up, and if that does turn out to be true then I might genuinely end up somewhat respecting this plotline, despite the major road bumps in the first half of the season.

The last major point I want to hit is Verosika, who manages to be both more extreme and more subdued than before while still feeling completely natural. While I don't have any concrete ideas, I am very curious to see where her character goes in the future.

In conclusion, while I think I prefer The Full Moon, this is still a better episode than roughly half of season. I just hope they can keep it up in the last three episodes as well as the three shorts we'll be getting in July, August and September, which are indeed a thing, in case you weren't aware. That's all for now, feel free to leave any of your own thoughts below.
