yeah i did just kinda reblog a post about this but i wanna rant about it too esp after getting into an argument on tiktok about this ⁉️

i firmly believe some hsr / gi characters ARE genuinely implied to be gay. obviously due to censorship/legal troubles, they really can’t explicitly state ‘oh, this character is homosexual!’ — i’ve heard they even got into some trouble with hi3, but i don’t know how legitimate that was. [reasoning and whatnot under the cut]

however, they can still cover it up with ‘extremely close best friends who honestly know eachother more than they know themselves’, along with other implications (alrhough i will say that most of the ones off of the top of my head are mlm (and mayhaps i have a bit of a bias being a gay man myself)). we’ve only been blessed with one canon (again, mlm) ship, and that was dan feng & yingxing — two characters who, while their reincarnation may be, aren’t even playable. yes, characters can be best friends. but that doesn’t mean they all are, you cannot erase what has already been covered up. PLEASE

there are relationships, and characters individually, while truthfully rarer. enter: aventurine. i know he’s the one most often mentioned in this kind of thing. that’s for a reason.

first of all, likely the most obvious thing, is the peacock imagery plastered all over him. they often symbolize homosexuality; and yes, i know they can also represent wealth. he doesn’t need to be confined to just one of them. both meanings fit, and with the latter mentioned evidence, i think both are valid interpretations.

secondly, there’s an oscar wilde reference in some of his dialogue — ‘the happy prince’, described as man made of/adorned with gold and jewels (from what i remember; this is all being written in one sitting, without much evidence on the side, but i’ve yapped about this enough to remember at least a semblance of it) is referenced, not directly, but with an extremely similar description as aforementioned. i’m pretty sure there’s also some sort of foreign/faraway traveler mentioned somewhere too, which further solidifies this as evidence. (for anyone who doesn’t know, oscar wilde is a gay man. gay gay homosexual gay.)

thirdly, and a bit of a reach, is looking at his general interactions with each gender. if you compare what he says and how he acts around male and female chars, you can see his attitude around male characters is much more suggestive. an obvious example is his reference to sunday as “the most handsome man in penacony,” although i do think that can be interpreted in multiple ways. in his conversation with sparkle, she also calls him a gay pr0stitute. she doesn’t talk about him sleeping around in general. specifically with a man.

i think aventurine is simply one of the best examples for this kind of ordeal. another decent one is wriothesley — i won’t go very deep into it, but there’s the fact that henry wriothesley is heavily speculated to be a gay man, if not bisexual, but still homosexual nonetheless.

people have probably explained this kind of thing a million times before but i’ll say it again. not every character has to be gay, no. but some are most definitely implied. i’m sick of people saying “do you even know what implied means???” do YOU? do you know what it means? i’m pretty sure implied means that there’s a shit ton of evidence pointing towards it, but it isn’t explicitly stated. i’m pretty sure everything above is an example of something implied. implied does not mean canon, and vice versa. characters being straight are just as much of a headcanon of them being gay. stop trying to erase what little we have. i’m so done with it — same with the people who say that [insert female character] gets in the way of [insert mlm ship] which is why everyone hates her. it’s likely not everyone hates her. it’s also quite likely that she doesn’t even really get in the way of it, and you just want to have your straight ship more popular than a gay one with much more evidence towards it. obviously, rarepairs existc with their whole thing with popularity and all, and i adore them, but that isn’t what i’m talking about; i mean the ships with canon chemistry, where they’re barely ever apart and are so obviously meant to be more than friends. those gay ships. she doesn’t get in the way, most of the time, i promise you.

Traintober Special: Discovery and Collection

"Toby's Discovery"

[Late 20th Century Sodor, Tidmouth Hault, West Sodor.]

"Come along Toby, we're going exploring." Toby had found himself taking The Fat Controller and his family to a small station on Duck's Branch line, what had initially been a small outing to the seaside and soon turned into an adventure. An expedition as Sir Robert would call it, Toby had idly wondered if perhaps Sir Topham spent a bit too much time around The Earl. . .

"If you don't mind my asking sir, where will be going?", The Fat Controller dopily turned around, a childlike glint in his eye.

Toby hadn't quite gotten a straight answer, it seemed Sir Topham had wanted it to be a surprise. In truth this wasn't such a bad thing, but Toby wasn't quite sure he liked where they were going, they were now entering the wildest part of Sodor. At least, wild to an engine who didn't leave the ffarquhar branch often.

He had been shaken from his thoughts by the realization he had arrived at a lonely signal box along the branch line.

As the driver and firemen disembarked, a sleepy signalman clambered down from his box. He looked as if he hadn't slept properly in sometime, and was quite jittery too.

Whilst Topham and his crew spoke with the signalman, Toby looked around at the barren countryside.

"Toby is everything alright?" Henrietta asked. Toby hadn't realized it, but he'd been staring off into space for a while now. "I'm quite alright Henrietta, no need to worry about me." he said as casually as he could. He wasn't sure but he was sure he saw something behind the bushes and trees in the distance.

The adventure was soon underway once more as they travelled down the abandoned branch, enduring many brambles and bushes before arriving at another little junction.

They were faced with the choice of the castle, and the mine. Naturally the children wished to see the castle, and Topham had agreed.

"There's the castle!" cried Richard from inside Henrietta. All eyes affixed to the giant structure not far away from an old water tower.

The castle was as to be expected slowly crumbling away but stood tall and mighty, it gave Toby a sense of foreboding, but perhaps it was just the dilapidated nature of the structure.

"Yesss. .and now we shall visit the mine." The Fat Controller said to himself thoughtfully.

Toby didn't know why, wouldn't know for a while even, but his heart sank at that.

Featuring mentions of Angel Dust's relationship with Val

Here's a fact. Vox is not being abused by Valentino.

This fandom is so deep in fanon content that it heavily intertwines with canon. But let's try to understand where Val abusing Vox came from, why it's not true and how it correlates to Angel Dust's relationship with Val.

Let's begin:

In the, now archived, posts on Instagram (or voxtagram), it was revealed that Vox and Val were in a situation-ship, and canon officially confirmed it.

Now, Val as a character is heavily hated and for good reasons while Vox is not. Many people adore Vox and for that, his relationship with Val can be conflicting, adding a bit of difficulty in justifying their like for him.

Here's where Valentino's relationship with Angel Dust comes in.

Val has been shown to be abusive and to SA Angel Dust. First example of that being the Addict music video.

This has created the need for people to give a reason behind Vox's relationship with Val and make excuses for him so they can validate their favoritism.

"Val is so awful! He must be abusing Vox! Breaking his screen and whatnot!"

What people don't take into consideration is the difference in their power imbalance or lack thereof.

One of the core factors in Angel Dust's relationship with Val is the power difference between them.

Val is an overlord while Angel is a sinner.

A sinner that signed a contract with Val and gave his soul. That alone makes their dynamic vastly different. Val feels it's within his right to abuse Angel, to test his limits until he breaks. And up until episode 4, Angel believed he deserved it because whatever Val did to have him sign the contract must have been his fault. Although that's not true, Angel felt so. Heck, he wanted to break himself so that Val would let him go.

Vox and Val, on the other hand, don't have that. Both of them are overlords.

They are on equal footing. There is no power imbalance. In fact, the Vees could have not existed and both Vox and Val, including Velvette, would be completely fine without each other and continue to have their respective overlord status.

The reason it exists is exploitation.

All three can and do use each other so they can have a more powerful front. A mutual alliance of exploitation. Within this, they have created their own fucked up bond. As a result of that, Val and Vox have an on-again, off-again relationship. It's far from healthy, but it's not an abusive one.

Vox knows of Valentino's behavior but as long as it's not effecting their shared partnership, he will not interfere nor will he care about it.

Or maybe the next seasons will give me the middle finger and I'm completely wrong. Who knows? I just read a fic and saw posts about Vox being abused by Val and wanted to give my two cents on the topic.

frustration with art like that is understandable IMO, but only when the person ingesting the media hasn't done their due diligence to block tags, set filters, etc. every platform that has tags, has a way to BLOCK those tags I personally don't!! enjoy or appreaciatate child gore, it sets me off, so what do I do? block the tag. I have every right to be frustrated when an author does a shitty job tagging, but I don't get the right to harrass and death threaten a creator for doing their own thing. But luckily I'm on the good side of tumblr, mostly dog videos and pixel art here chat.

Cow Cam

(Takes place during season 8)

Pearl was walking around her base and it felt.... wrong. Something was wrong with her base. But from the inside it was fine (aside from the empty space) ... it had to be from the outside then.

So Pearl walked outside and looked around. She was so close.. but she needed a better angle to figure it out. Maybe from up above she could see... but X said in the chat that flying was not allowed because of some unaccounted errors in the code. So that was off the table, and building would look ugly.

"Okay... time to call up Moo. Hope shes not asleep right now."

And then Pearl sent a message to her little sister. She wasn't sleeping (even though she was about to) yet luckily, seeing how that would mean Pearl would need to wait an extremely long time.

After a while of waiting, Pearl felt Moo enter the server. It was never hard to tell if a Farlander was nearby being a Farlander herself. She heard the sound of glitching before she noticed Moo next to her.

"Moo is here sis...."

Pearl giggled at her third person way of talking, while she did talk normally a lot, there was just something nice about her talking in third person. She turned to her baby sister.

"I know Moo.... I need your help."

Moo turned to look at Pearl, looked up at her slightly taller sister, her cow ears twitching, and her tail sliding on the ground. Her claws held her personal camera, dented and with small drawings and paint on it.

"Moo can tell... what is it?"

"I need you to fly over my base and take some footage of my base... doesn't it feel off?"

Moo looked at the base, only for a few moments but seeing everything.

"Um.... I guess?"

"But why though?"

"Not enough fungus? Or plants?"

"hmm.... nah thats for next seasons plans."

Moo took note of that for later.

"Okay.... Moo will take a look"

Then Moo flew around the base recording everything she could and then went back to Pearl and showed her the footage.

"Hmm..... thanks... OH! I see the problem now! The base is off by one block!"

Moo stared at her confused and tired.

"What?"

"The base is off by one block! If I move it by a block everything will be fixed!"

"... your going to move the base by a block... are you kidding Moo?"

"NOPE! Lets do this!"

Then Pearl ran to start fixing the problem when Moo called out to her.

"Wait!? US!?"

Pearl turned to look at her sister.

"Um.... yes us... your going to be recording it!"

"But-"

"No buts! And especially not Gems sisters!"

Moo blushed for a moment before responding.

"Fine.... hurry up!" But Pearl was already inside her base. "...... moooooo..... what I do for her"

Then Moo ascended upwards to the sky. This was going to be a long day.

my uncle (named big michael, you will soon find out why) who is 6’9 (Now You Understand) just arrived to sleep over at our place, i was not informed, there are no lights on in the hall, he has a key, and it is 34 minutes past midnight. So that is all to say, I do think with some certainty, that I am now, officially, the first human being who has come this close to seeing the boogie man in real life, and survived. He unfolded himself through that door frame like a poorly made origami crane from hell.

Her new school.

Maddie was standing in front of the gate of her new school and she was absolutely frightened. She had her arms wrapped around herself in an attempt to keep herself a little bit warmer during this autumn weather.

She mainly shivering because of she was nervous. What people would think of her? If they would even think about her.

Most people only ever noticed her when she was with her younger twin sister. The sister who had promised they would walk into their new school together. No one ever forgot her or walked right by her without noticing.

A promise soon forgotten as some students called out to her, asking if she was new. When Amelia answered them, with a bright smile on her face, that she was indeed a new student and proudly told them that she was on her way to try out for cheerleader.

Some had offered to show her to walk with her to the auditions, Amelia had run and left her twin behind.

Someone bumped into her. She heard what sounded like swearing but didn’t understand the language and turned around. She saw a guy a bit older than her trying to gather some books of the ground while holding onto and balancing the.. bulbs?

Picking up the books he dropped for him she tries to apologize, but he stops her. “My fault, I should have noticed you” he says with a rather heavy accent, though his English is perfectly understandable.

“No one ever does.” She answered with a small smile as she stands up.

The brown haired boy stares at her and for a moment she’s uncomfortable, but then he says “They should. Are you related to the new girl trying out for cheerleading?”

“My twin.”

“Figures. You look alike.”

“People always say we look the same.” Which Maddie had always hated. They were twins, not clones.

“Nee.” The other replied, shaking his head. “You look alike. Not the same. It’s easy to tell you apart. What’s your name?”

“Madeline. Maddie.”

“Johan.” He introduced himself.

Maddie might have never blushed as much as she did at that moment.

“Are those bulbs?” she tried to change the subject.

“Are you not trying out for cheerleading?” He asked, instead of answering her question.

The Canadian shook her head.

Silence.

“Tulip bulbs.” The new girl looked up. “What?”

“The bulbs. They’re tulip bulbs. Its they right time to put them into the ground and I promised I would help out with the school garden.”

The blonde smiled at that. “I’ll help you carry your stuff to the garden.” She said before she could stop herself. Looking around, she had no idea which direction to go.

“This way.”

They stayed silent for a while before the boy mentioned having to go to the football training.

“Try outs as well?” Maddie asked.

He shook his head. “Yes, but I’ve been part of the team for a few years now. I’m helping with judging the people who are trying out.” Just as he said that, someone nearly walked into her so fast that the petite woman would have been knocked over. Only the tall football player had stepped in front of her and the other student had fallen to the ground.

He didn’t even seem to care about the other boy and let Maddie know with a motion of his head  to leave that student alone.

“Shouldn’t we ask if he’s alright.” She asked softly.

“He’s just fine, I know him. We had worse collisions on the field.”

While  they dropped of the bulbs at the school garden and Johan put books, he asked her to come with him to the try outs of his team. She agreed.

Things went a little wrong when they reached the soccer field and they stopped.

“Why are we stopping here?” she wondered out loud. Maybe his friends played soccer?

“You wanted come to my team’s try outs?” He asked. Brushing his hand against the scar above his eyebrow.

Maddie stared at him. Blinked and then blinked again.

“You said you’re on the football team.”

“This is football.” He argued.

Maybe she could have guessed from his name and accent that he was a foreign student.

Maddie just smiled up at Johan.

In response, the jock stood a little closer to her before he began to introduce her to some of his friends and teammates.

With someone like Johan walking besides her, no one was going to run into her and they might even remember her.

Maddie didn’t mind that idea at all.

These guys he’s talking about (Stan/Fez, Ford/sixer, Pine Tree/Dipper, and Shooting Star/Mabel) are all a family! Stan and Ford are twins, and Dipper and Mabel are twins. He has… some interesting beef with them, but it was kinda 100% his fault.

His whole thing with Sixer was a situationship gone wrong, and he’s still salty over his divorce arc (that happened like 30+ years ago btw)
