Which ttte pairings do you like the most?

Well, Edward and Toby are definitely my favorite of course. 😏 I don't really see any content with the two of them that much so I'm here to fix that! Ok, but in all seriousness though. It would have such a pairing with lots of potential like Toby slowly becoming more confident and Edward morphing into his more calmer personality (He's still grumpy and impatient lol) as the two interact.

I also really like Edward and Gordon. Basically, it's the dysfunctional brothers relationship. Edward's the gremlin youngin while Gordon is barely hanging on to his last strand of sanity. I like to imagine that Gordon drags Edward by grabbing his shirt collar or restraining him so that he doesn't kill somebody lol. 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Percy and Mavis are the two siblings that have weird interests and they're the only people who understand each other. Mavis likes alt/goth culture while Percy likes weirdcore/creepy shit. Basically, they're the chill older siblings. Also, you can't forget about Percy's, Phillip's and Pluto's dynamic. They're called the Three Ps for a reason. 🅿️🅿️🅿️

Toby and Henrietta are just the classic "girlboss and malewife" pairing. They're just made for each other, DID YOU NOT SEE HASTY HANNAH?!? These two are married for sure. 💝💝💝💝💝

Some other pairings that I like/love:

Thomas and Percy. They're not "best friends" in my eyes but more like "We both roast each other but we still care" Definitely a reverse of "Thomas' the smart one and Percy's the dumb one". Percy is the only one with more than 1 braincell.

Edward and James. I used to ship these two together until the oversaturation of this ship and the fandom kinda ruining it made me stop shipping this pairing. I imagine them as ex fiancés who thankfully broke up for the good of both of them because the relationship started becoming pretty toxic. They're now like brothers although in some cases, it becomes awkward when somebody brings up their past relationship.

Henry and Hiro: It's really sweet to the point where all of my teeth are rotting because both of them understand each other and still help the other with their problems despite conflicts that happen. Why isn't this ship more popular than it already is???

Edward, Duck and Diesel: Yeah..... This is just the manifestation of chaos itself. 😂😂😂😂 Duck and Diesel are both halves of a whole dumbass while Edward is unsuccessfully trying to stop the two of them from killing each other.

More Characters For Classically Modern!

FINALLY, IT'S BEEN ABOUT A YEAR SINCE I MADE THE ORIGINAL POST.

I finally got more concepts for the characters that were wips! So now we got Diesel, Henrietta, Hannah, Emily, Henry with actual personalities! Also, we got some new characters like Alfred and Timothy! Let's get right to it!

Recap on the swaps:

Characters:

BoCo: Looks intimidating, rough, brooding and is somebody that you wouldn't want to mess with. But he's actually really nice and kind just like his og self. Though he can and will bend you into a balloon animal, he is very strong. Is often weary and distrustful of people because of rumors spread at his old railway of how dangerous he was made to be. He is very good at telling twins apart without looking at them. Inspo: Bo from the Epic Tales of Captain Underpants.

Henrietta: Spunky, doesn't care for rules, bouncing with life and motivation and is just a cool old lady! She and Toby are partners for life and crime! Although, unlike og Hannah, she does have the ability to calm herself down and stay focused. Also fuck the police haha. Inspo: Madame Foster from Foster's Home For Imaginary Friends.

Hannah: Is basically that fun teacher, parent or relative that you meet at some point in your life. She loves to teach new engines or coaches how to be Really Useful while also teaching them how to relax and to have a good time when your work is done! Is besties with James. They love to shit talk about modern society. She does not get along with Edward, there's something about him that feels off whenever she looks at him in the face.... Inspo: Two From TPOT.

Emily: Instead of Henry being one of the First Three engines on Sodor, she instead takes his place! Which means, she was a guy when Sodor just had its own railway. She didn't have any mechanical problems but she was horribly miserable inside because of her gender dysphoria. Fed up, pissed at everybody and everything and bites more than she chews. (Literally) So she would often vent to Gordon or Edward about her problems. Eventually, Emily was sent to Crewe to be given gender reassignment surgery. Once she was done, she felt like a new engine completely! It seemed like all of the world's problems just disappeared in a snap! Loves to collect gems and crystals from the quarry or mines. Is now determined, amiable and huffs and puffs! Inspo: Frankie Foster from Foster's Home For Imaginary Friends.

Henry: Fatherly, generous and is an excellent shoulder to cry on. Instead of having trouble burning coal, he now has problems with his wheels and brakes. They either don't let him move, let him move too soon, don't allow him to stop or can't let him stop at all. The infamous Flying Kipper crash actually happened due to the tender engine's brakes not working at the last second. Repairs were made to fix the wheels and the brakes. Still loves nature but is now interested in sea life. Inspo: Mr. Ree from The Epic Tales Of Captain Underpants

Alfred: Sure, he still might be snobbish, arrogant and rude. But this time, he actually has a hidden heart of gold that somehow nobody has seen yet. Not even Gordon, the optimist that than happens to know everybody on the island! That all changed when a little green tank engine came to the railway. As quick as a fox landing headfirst into the snow and then getting stuck in it, Alfred and Percy quickly formed one of the most brotherly bonds that the quaint island has ever seen. He helped, defended and hanged out with Percy whenever the pair had time to see each other. However, the pair were unfortunately taken away from one another when Alfred voluntary sacrificed himself in a raging fire and got burned alive. Inspo: Mr. Krupp from Captain Underpants.

Timothy: He may look like a nice and harmless fellow, but don't be fooled. He is actually one of the most abusive and callous engines to ever exist. According to Thomas, he was known to be physically and verbally abusive towards his younger brother and constantly terrorized him. And was the only reason why Thomas started inventing new items, it was to protect himself from Timothy. Died when he got pushed off by Thomas on a bridge and fell into a rapid stream below. Inspo: Terrence from Foster's Home For Imaginary Friends.

Traintober: Day 6 "Special Letters"

"Thomas' Special Letter"

[Vicarstown Sheds, Post-Great War]

"Are you quite sure?" asked Henry in between coughing fits, "Very." replied Edward. "Mr. Hatt's bought a new engine from the mainland."

"Hmph, probably to handle goods work." Gordon snorted as he backed onto the table and prepared to turn 'round. "Saving the real work for important engines such as myself."

Edward continued, "By the sound of it, he's requested a tank engine."

Gordon snootily looked over, "For shunting at the big station?"

"Hard to say," ventured Edward, "the new engine could very well be used on the mainline-" this suggestion was interrupted by a loud guffaw from the big blue engine.

"If thats the case," replied Gordon, "Then I'm sure this new tank engine won't last a month!"

[Knapford Junction, Afternoon]

One afternoon Thomas brought their last train to the junction, she stopped alongside Toby and his coach Henrietta. Percy was sitting on the adjacent siding. "The Fat Controller's arranged for my trains to end earlier today and for me to report to the yards later." said Thomas excitedly.

"He said the same to us. Do you know?" Percy went on, "I think something's up."

Toby looked up at the sky "Where?"

"Down here silly!" Chuckled Thomas. Toby looked at Thomas. "How," asked Toby reasonably with a broad grin, "can something be up, when its down?" "Ask Topham and his supply of-" but Thomas was interrupted by Percy's shrill and excited whistle.

"Bust my buffers, look over there!" the little green engine all but shrieked. At that moment there came a loud rumbling and several engines from the other railway ran through the station.

"Hello Jane! Hello Pug! They're friends of mine from The Mainland, but I can't place the others."

Jane whistled cheerfully in response to Percy's calls, whilst Pug gave a loud blast, and grumbled the rest of the way through the station.

"What is all this?" Thomas half-chuckled. Their driver stuck his head out of the cab and called ahead. "I suppose we'll find out if we follow 'em. Its probably a part of Sir Topham's plan."

So Thomas, Toby and Percy, followed behind the long cavalcade of engines to The Big Station at the end of the line, where the rest of the engines were waiting.

Traintober Special: Discovery and Collection

"Toby's Discovery"

[Late 20th Century Sodor, Tidmouth Hault, West Sodor.]

"Come along Toby, we're going exploring." Toby had found himself taking The Fat Controller and his family to a small station on Duck's Branch line, what had initially been a small outing to the seaside and soon turned into an adventure. An expedition as Sir Robert would call it, Toby had idly wondered if perhaps Sir Topham spent a bit too much time around The Earl. . .

"If you don't mind my asking sir, where will be going?", The Fat Controller dopily turned around, a childlike glint in his eye.

Toby hadn't quite gotten a straight answer, it seemed Sir Topham had wanted it to be a surprise. In truth this wasn't such a bad thing, but Toby wasn't quite sure he liked where they were going, they were now entering the wildest part of Sodor. At least, wild to an engine who didn't leave the ffarquhar branch often.

He had been shaken from his thoughts by the realization he had arrived at a lonely signal box along the branch line.

As the driver and firemen disembarked, a sleepy signalman clambered down from his box. He looked as if he hadn't slept properly in sometime, and was quite jittery too.

Whilst Topham and his crew spoke with the signalman, Toby looked around at the barren countryside.

"Toby is everything alright?" Henrietta asked. Toby hadn't realized it, but he'd been staring off into space for a while now. "I'm quite alright Henrietta, no need to worry about me." he said as casually as he could. He wasn't sure but he was sure he saw something behind the bushes and trees in the distance.

The adventure was soon underway once more as they travelled down the abandoned branch, enduring many brambles and bushes before arriving at another little junction.

They were faced with the choice of the castle, and the mine. Naturally the children wished to see the castle, and Topham had agreed.

"There's the castle!" cried Richard from inside Henrietta. All eyes affixed to the giant structure not far away from an old water tower.

The castle was as to be expected slowly crumbling away but stood tall and mighty, it gave Toby a sense of foreboding, but perhaps it was just the dilapidated nature of the structure.

"Yesss. .and now we shall visit the mine." The Fat Controller said to himself thoughtfully.

Toby didn't know why, wouldn't know for a while even, but his heart sank at that.

I'm gonna level with everyone. I haven't been consistent with my postings for traintober, because of not being inspired in some cases, and suffering burn out in others.

I was gonna do more for the last day to make up for it, but I got sick mere days before.

I'll be posting the prompts I didn't get to though, and stuff inspired by them.
