My Thoughts on How Barbara Became Oracle.
I’ve seen people talk about this change and I wanted to join in since I have some thoughts too.
For the most part, I’m okay with the change the writers did. Young Justice is one of many DC universes so anything can happen. I applaud the writers for trying something new.
Though, I still have some problems with the change. It was pretty weird that Barbara automatically assumed Orphan never killed anyone before they met. I think the writers were trying to outright tell us that Cassandra’s story is widely different. I also would’ve preferred if Orphan made that decision not to kill or killing is bad on her own like what happened when she and her mother fought in episode 8.
I read Cassandra’s comic origins on her Wikipedia page and prefer how she decided to be a hero than YJ’s version.
Incase anyone is wondering about my thoughts on how Barbara became Oracle in the Killing Joke, I’m okay with this version. There are many people who said they didn’t like it because they believe Barbara was a consequence of Joker wanting to drive Gordon crazy. I can see where they are coming from but that was not my perspective.
From how I see it, what happened to Barbara was a devastating way to show the audience that heroes can face as much pain and tragedy in their civilian lives as them being superheroes. And that terrible things can indirectly happen to you.

Bruce realises embarrassingly late that his Batkids can’t swim.
Gotham’s beach water is pure chemicals and sewage, and the city’s public school funding doesn’t exactly prioritise teaching kids to swim. Steph, Duke and Jason had never seen a swimming pool before meeting Bruce.
Tim’s parents meant to sign him up for swim lessons after he fell into their indoor fountain when he was three and nearly drowned - it would have been so embarrassing if it happened when they had guests! - but forgot.
So Bruce is like. Oh no my baby-soldiers must learn to swim.
Damian insists that since the League trained him to withstand waterboarding, he’s fine. Bruce pulls a muscle in his cheek from clenching his jaw so hard.
Dick insists that he can swim and manages one impressive mermaid-style undulation before becoming disoriented and slamming into the wall.
Duke covers himself in floaties and clings to a pool noodle for dear life, eschewing dignity because “this isn’t how I die”.
Conversely, Tim sinks like a stone, curls up on the bottom of the pool, and waits for death.
Cass, with the lowest body fat percentage, also sinks but manages to squeeze into one of the drains. She re-emerges six hours later in an estuary in New Jersey.
Steph refuses to let go of the wall by the deep end, scuttling away like a crab when Bruce tries to poke her into the water with a skimmer net.
Jason scoffs at them all and manages a perfect swan dive before flailing and crashing into Steph, causing both of them to panic and use each other as ladders to get out.
Alfred asks Barbara for the security camera footage and makes everyone watch it twice a year to keep their egos in check.

Maybe from a dystopian AU, or maybe just a little redesign, who knows?
Cass just really deserves to be happy :)

Headcannon that the second Cass saw Jason she was just immediately like… that is my baby brother. And Jason pretends to be really annoyed by this, he’s like a foot taller than her and (probably) older. But Cass doesn’t care and keeps finding ways to take care of him. She’ll leave notes in his safe houses reminding him to sleep or eat, and he can never figure out how she’s getting in. She’ll carry him with unnatural strength whenever he’s injured. And even though he pretends to be annoyed by it, Jason loves his baby sister just as much

Just looks at her she’s so shiny! Loving how it turned out, but I’m iffy about the background. Thinking about doing other from her AU, we’ll see!

1- The top voted person went to jail for a crime they did not commit.
2- Second most voted person actually committed the crime.
3- Third most voted person dared person 2 to commit said crime.
4- Fourth most voted person was person 1’s lawyer, who was actually on person 2’s side all along.
5- Fifth most voted person is 🤌🏻 close to saying ‘FUCK YOU!’ and going to live with Barbara. And become batgirl. For some reason. (They were the second suspect of said crime, though they had nothing to do with the crime)
6- Sixth most voted person is the only one on Person 1’s side and is trying to get them out of jail
7- Seventh most voted person is Person 2’s lawyer who ?somehow? won, though it was clear they weren’t even trying.
8- Eighth most voted person is secretly the one who bribed Commissioner Gordon to put Person 1 in jail for a week, because Commissioner Gordon was too smart and knew it wasn’t actually person 1 (whether he knew it was person two or not, depends on the answer)
9- Ninth most voted person is also for some reason in jail, for reasons Unkown. They are glaring at all the criminals menacingly, and person 1 is too annoyed to ask why they’re there.
10- Tenth most voted person was called by person 1 to bail them out, but was ‘cut off’ because of ‘bad signal, sorry’
11- Eleventh most voted person tried framing person three for the crime, and is now in Kent Farm for some reason???
