can i be honest im 100% for the fact that like the tradwife stay at home mom thing is really fucked culturally but also like i think we as a society have to figure this shit out because a child needs the equivalent (if not more) of a full time job's worth of work from an adult who (for the health of the child and for the ethics of the situation honestly) needs to be able to function in a way that isn't making the adult miserable because being raised by miserable adults has really tangible negative impacts on children. whether its community childcare so that simply more adults can be involved in the situation or much more robust social aid towards young families. like this might he stupidly idealistic but i think really the root of a lot of issues in society come from the fact that people refuse to understand the gravity of like. parenthood. its an insane responsibility. i think it should be treated as such

If someone says that they don’t support BLM or Pride, because “everyone should be treated equally” and “it’s not equal if they get special privileges”, are they racist/homophobic?   I just got into a big fight with my parents about this. My dad voted for Trump, is white & straight, and works in business. But he gets mad when I call him racist/transphobic/misogynistic, etc because he “doesn’t care what other people do” so long as it doesn’t affect him.  My mom is an independent, hated Trump, and is more liberal than my dad, but she has a lot of the same views as my dad. She doesn’t support feminists because she believes they’re all “men-haters” that would make fun of her for choosing to be a stay at home mom, she says “all lives matter”, and when I told her my friend was bi, she said she had to discuss if I was allowed to sleep over at her house anymore! Even though she came out like 5 years ago to me and nothing weird has happened. Wtf, Mom. She also told me that she’d be fine if I was a lesbian but she’d “prefer” if I wasn’t because it would be “easier” for her. And one time she mentioned that her aunt was never married or even dated, so I said, “maybe she’s ace or aro” and she said, “what’s that mean” and as I told her, she interrupted me and said, “I don’t have room in my brain to learn any of theses new words.” Huh, Mom. I don’t remember you saying that when I told you about a cool new animal or invention I told you about.

Is this a Gen X thing? Like, they just want to ignore anything that doesn’t affect them and they cannot deal with change? Because I’m pretty sure this is the mindset of a lot of adults I know.

I really want to start a feminist club at my high school, but now that I’ve gone back I feel unqualified. I’m introverted and kind of shy (though I’m trying to be more outgoing), and I know there are definitely people who know more about feminist issues and are more outspoken than me. But I really am passionate about it, and want to start a club, and I know there will be TONS of members… It’s kind of a big topic to cover and I feel like a lot will be expected of me.

Does anyone have any advice?

The reason women weren't in the draft when it started ,was because women were considered 2nd class citizen (same reason we weren't allowed to vote )

Women love their country , and should help protect it

As a women , i think the draft should include women ( though the draft should be only for emergency ) ---> both for men and women

The only issue is the alarming amount of sexual abuse female's get that goes undedicated or not punished , ( once that's fixed , both women and men should serve their country )

All the Trump-appointed justices blatantly lied, under oath, about settled law and Roe v Wade.

The judicial insurrection is 100% Republican.

While we, people, are being murdered on the streets in Iran because of forced hijab, America is spreading red carpet for the killer;we won't forget this.

Putting up graffiti & posters in Iran that says "Mahsa Amini" the name of a 22 year old Kurdish woman who was murdered by police in Tehran this week, after being arrested for allegedly failing to wear a hijab.

Since her death the country has exploded in rebellion with riotous protests breaking out in cities around Iran, especially in the South East Kurdish region.

"Let's write #Mehsa_Amini's name on the walls of the city. Place Mahsa's photo on our cars. Let's also place photos of the other innocents killed next to her photo and ask for what sin the children of this land were killed and covered in blood.

Mahsa is not just another name or victim, but the "code name and symbol" of the people, youth and women of this land. We shout it in our national mourning. We shout our "code name" in every gathering we get the chance, we make it a symbol of the petition of all the dead as we speak of totalitarianism and the overthrow of the government.

Let's close the shops and the markets in coordinated strikes as a movement of sympathetic and harmonious mourners.

My husband [ 26m] took out my IUD last night,

So this will sound crazy , and I guess it kind of is .

I am 23F and have been married to my husband for 2 years .we have a 1.5 year old daughter . I love him so much and he is a great father . He I told him I wasn't sure when I'd feel ready flr another kid since I just got off maternity leave a year ago and am working full time .

In the past few months after our daughter turned 1 , he's been really vocal about his wish for another kid . we usually use the pull out method , but it got to the point where I didn't even trust him to pull out ( this was how our daughter was conceived actually ) . so last month I secretly booked an appointment with my doctor and he gave me an IUD despite my aversion to getting hormones .

My husband does not know about my IUD . He has not been pulling out very often which makes me glad I got the IUD . however , yesterday , he found out because he caught me reading about it on the Internet . He got angry at me for hiding it from him and when we were about to have sex that night , reached in there and tried to get it out , which hurt like hell . I was panicking and hitting him and yelling for him to stop , but he ignored me and managed to pull it out . he then threw it in the trash and told me that "those things" are not good for my body anyways .

I'm so shaken . I'm normally a very calm and tough person but he really scared me. He apologized to me this morning and said he was just angry for not telling him about the IUD and getting it done behind his back .

What should I do ? I feel violated . My husband has always been rather pushy and mad when he doesn't get his way , but he's never gone this far.
