so we know that out of the group, only fl and lasko are humanborn and lasko’s family knows about his powers.

time to take advantage of the fact that freelancers past is so secretive (in canon)..

-

freelancer’s family still doesn’t know about their powers. they suppressed them for years, and then left once they wouldn’t be able to anymore. then they met caelum and gavin and, you know the rest.

they have a younger sibling who they’re very close with, or was, and they don’t know about freelancers powers either. so they just think fl left them “alone” without knowing the reason.

when they finally do talk, freelancer can’t tell them where they’ve been truthfully, so they have to lie about it, and their sibling knows they are and they hate it.

sometimes they think freelancer won’t ever come back again, too.

bonus: caelum reminds fl of their sibling when they were younger <3 they kinda view him as a “stand-in” sometimes and take care of him in a way they can’t do for their sibling anymore.

- keeps making a punching motion at damien’s face too, everytime he tries to stop them from leaning over..or really anytime he looks at them for more than a second lol

- repeatedly tells huxley how much they love him and won’t stop saying “what’s up bro” and dapping him up every single time they look at him

- stared at lasko for 4 minutes straight

- someone please stop them from comparing their muscles to huxley’s and flexing dude lmfao

- won’t stop saying “where’s caelum?” lol the rest of the boys assume they’re just saying a random name but ofc gavin knows and just keeps holding his laugh in

he’s grown to like gav calling him “wildfire”. hearing his explanation has since made him proud to be called that, in a way. lol he won’t ever admit it tho.

headcanon of the day

freelancer frequently worries about their career. more specifically, they worry about the fact that they don’t really seem to have any ambition when it comes to a career. they’re a human born, so they were brought up with an entirely different view on life. when they realized and accepted that they had magic, all their previous plans for their life dissipated completely. but even before, they never gave it much thought—they were never quite passionate about anything. and then their powers came along, and eventually, they were so passionate about it. their life was given a whole new meaning; one that they adored. their newfound focus on this path took away from any attention given to a career, but now… it’s an increasing source of anxiety. they find themselves constantly comparing their lives to their friends. damien knows exactly what he wants to do—-he always has, and he’s always gotten it. freelancer was so proud of him once he announced his new position, but a sick feeling of envy and apprehension took over them as well. and it’s the same situation with huxley and dear, too. they’re both incredibly talented and driven, knowing what they want in a career and always striving to get it. gavin can’t relate to them either...though he may have a shared experience of not having career plans at one point in time, he’s now diligent and focused in his studies and plans. he talks more and more about what he wants to do in the future, and freelancer is there, encouraging him and cheering him on. but still, there’s this nagging, inescapable feeling of inferiority brewing inside them whenever he brings it up. if anyone could relate to them, it would’ve been lasko. he wasn’t used to this life, hadn’t grown up knowing about this magical world and planning his life with it all in mind, like the others. but they had met him as a counselor, and he only seemed to grow in his job at d.a.m.n, constantly reforming and achieving promotion after promotion. freelancer just feels so guilty—they know it’s pathetic, but they can’t help it. the insecurity and self-doubt derived from their apathy is utterly consuming. so they continue to attend their monotonous jobs, changing them constantly, and searching for aspiration..all in vain.

So! I have had a couple friends ask about Redacted Audio, and for a summary for various reasons. So I did that, and I'm sharing it!

I made 4 different versions of the summary, Canva, PDF, a very broken Google Slides, and a Google Docs alternative.

Personally I think lasko is very tall but in a lanky kind of way especially before the events of freelancer and stuff because I’ve always pictured him as someone quite uncomfortable with their body and how much space he takes up within it so being quite tall (an inch or two on Huxley) he’s kinda put in a position where he’s constantly trying to hunch and minimise himself because he doesn’t need another reason to stand out
