I love that they made this, but we STILL don't have the rest of the Bad Batch in the Vintage Collection. Like we just have Hunter. And we had to wait two years for Hunter too.

The 4 pack of figures they made back in 2021 was Howzer, Rex with a poncho & a badly made helmet whose visor you couldn't remove, Grey and random Elite squad trooper. WHY. Why didn't they make the actual members of the Batch??

It's been 3 years now and there's no Tech, no Wrecker, no Crosshair & no TBB Echo. No announcements, no pipelined Batch figures.... We had so many Mando figures, plenty of BoBF & Ahsoka figures, Acolyte figures are out already but no finished Batch.

Like ok cool we get Cobb Vanth, but I'm genuinely curious if fans really really wanted this figure or if they made it bc they had the Jango mold, it's an easy repaint & they can sell it as a "deluxe" figure bc it comes w more blasters & fire effects... idk that's just the cynic in me... maybe ppl out there really like Cobb Vanth idk.

But what I do find ridiculous is that the Black Series made the complete Batch in S1 & S2 armor & Vinatge collection said: here are some characters that appear in 1 episode in a 4 pack, we'll make the character that most fits the trooper body we already have & maybe we'll make the rest if we feel like it 🤷‍♀️ Come the fuck on Hasbro.

Dark Crisis  SDCC Panel: What We Learned

Dark Crisis isn’t the real title, it’s actually Dark Crisis on Infinite Earths, issues #1-3 will be reprinted with the new title after the title change officially happens in #4. While JW originally said that this wouldn’t be a reboot it certainly smells like a reboot. Pariah wins and is remaking the Infinite Earths, which will have huge affects on the rest of the dc universe, and they are redoing the Krona origin for the multiverse. They also have plans to “expand the dc universe”… so even if there isn’t a reboot there will be so many retcons it will pretty much be a reboot.

Young Justice is no longer the next-generation of heroes, it sounds like a lot of the current teams and characters will get pushed aside. If your favorite character is a legacy hero… good luck my friends.

Barry and Hal will team up in #4 to bring the JL back, they will officially return in #5

Nekron’s black lantern corps will return in #3, there will also be mentions of the GL’s rings and the Great Darkness that will be explored in Dark Crisis: The Deadly Green

the deadly green will feature Alan Scott as well as Jon Kent, Jon’s not all that comfortable with magic but he uses his powers to combine with Swamp Thing???

Dark Crisis: The Dark Army will feature Damian, who goes out on his own secret mission and tries to steal the Dark Army away from Pariah because “he’s cocky” and it will tie into Batman v Robin, Dr. Light, Red Canary, Power Girl, and Sideways will go with him. it will be crucial to the plot of dark crisis overall. 

Dark Crisis: War Zone will be the street-level perspective of the whole crisis event through the eyes of Iris and Linda, it will feature some big connection between them  it also reveals 5 stories & tie-ins from the 6th issue which is supposed to be emotional

I Am Batman #15 will feature a street fight between Jace and Sinestro

YJ #5 will feature the son of a major villain, they won’t reveal who it is until issue #4, Meg also teased that there will be a lot of emotional conversations in the upcoming YJ stuff **it looks like Bernard is on the cover

We learned Tom King doesn’t know the definition of fascism cuz he said this about Superman’s one-shot 

Beast Boy was shot purely for shock value cuz they had no plans to kill him off

TL;DR prepare for a lot of retcons, this is going to be a mess. best of luck to everyone, especially those whose favorite characters are legacy characters.

I'm not that excited about the Stranger Things stuff that goes on at Comic Con and I've never been interested in spending money on traveling to go someplace just to be marketed to.

If I want to meet actors I like, I prefer waiting for them to appear in theatre, getting to watch them actually act live and do the stage door thing afterward.

This photo means a lot to me. And I’ll tell you why. 

Natalie Portman, as we know, was shut out of Marvel. She chose not to sign any new contract not just because of the way her character was treated (though there is that) but because Thor: The Dark World was slated to be the first Marvel movie directed by a woman, her friend (and eventual Wonder Woman director) Patty Jenkins. Portman hadn’t planned on being in The Dark World, but lept at the chance to be a part of feminist history and to be directed in what would have beenJenkin’s first film since her 2003 Oscar-winning Monster. Portman signed a new contract with Marvel. They fired Jenkins soon after. Portman was crushed because she essentially had been duped into a contract for a film that would keep her away from her young son and force her back into a one-dimensional role under yet another male director. And we all remember how awful that movie was. 

When it came time for the third Thor movie, they tried to get Portman under contract again. And she said no. Marvel decided to spin the story to make it seem like it was all their idea. At first, they went for the lame and nonsensical: 

When Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige was asked about why she wouldn’t be in the third film, and said there were “many reasons, many of which are in the film, so you will see that” continuing with “There are only a couple of scenes on Earth in this movie. The majority, 95 percent of the movie, takes place in the cosmos.” (x)

Seeing as The Dark World also took place in space, this answer didn’t have a lot of credibility. When Portman said she was “done” with the Marvel Universe, Feige got vicious in interviews, telling reporters that Valkyrie was in Ragnorak to be better than Jane Foster and a better match for Thor. 

“We wanted Thor to encounter somebody that was near his equal and that his relationship with Jane may have evolved in unexpected ways in between The Dark World and Ragnarok, and we wanted to pit him against a character who was much more his equal and in many ways his superior.” (x)

Feige implies that A) Valkyrie was in Ragnorak just to be a romantic interest for Thor, B) Valkyrie is better and more powerful than Jane Foster, and C) Jane Foster was always Thor’s inferior. 

What’s ridiculous is that Ragnorak had a “sorry Jane dumped you” throwaway line to explain Portman’s absence. And instead of saying that Jane and Thor broke up in interviews, a line that does not spoil literally anything about the film, Feige chose to attack Jane’s strength and capability, which would have been a very special dig at Portman. 

Do you want to know what none of this sounds like? Taika Waititi’s opinion. Waititi is a master storyteller who does not sacrifice his feminist views for laughs. You can bet that Feige’s ridiculous slams on Portman and her character Jane– disguised as “promotion” for WAITITI’S FILM– would have troubled him immensely. This is a man with a Māori father, who had to use his mother’s maiden name– Cohen– for earlier work because an indigenous last name kept him away from opportunity. This man does NOT fuck around with entertainment that gets its power off of sexism and inequality. He knows from experience just how infuriating it is when it comes to directors missing out on opportunities because they aren’t a white man. 

So how does he fix this? How does he fix the idea that Jane Foster can’t go to space, or that she’s not powerful enough for Thor, the god of thunder? 

He makes her Thor. 

Waititi saw Portman / Jane Foster’s name dragged through the mud by Kevin Feige in order to promote his movie, and when he got hired to direct again, he decided to right those wrongs. This picture means everything. He is on his knee, handing her Thor’s hammer, essentially saying, you will never have to go through that shit with me. With me, you’re a god. And the expression on her face, after Marvel attempted to break her, doesn’t need words. 

What a photo. What a film. What a man.
