And there it is! This took me like 7 hours to finish but I’m really proud of it!
Honestly, since I played the Witcher wild hunt I always had in mind to recreate some St. George’s art (the dragon slayer) but with geralt. I also really really love Christian and medieval art so I made this! I guess you could call it a little tribute to a game/ book and character that helped me so much in this last year.

NIBBLES. NIBBLES THE CAT.
This may be because most people are here for the Witcher Netflix show & have not played the Witcher games (or they just simply forgot about Nibbles.) & that’s fair enough. I get it. I do. BUT TIME TO CHANGE THAT OKAY!? & While I’m sure that there are older posts that mention Nibbles, I see next to nothing about Nibbles in this Witcher fandom resurgence.
So. I recently replayed Witcher 3. & You spend the game, passing through towns, exploring, taking on monster contracts, & searching for Ciri. There are lots of animals in these towns you go through. Dogs, cows, goats, sheep, horses, geese, pigs, chickens, AND CATS. Most animals dont really react to Geralt’s presence. But EVERY. SINGLE. CAT. arches its back, slinks away from Geralt, & hisses at him as soon as they notice him. EXCEPT FOR NIBBLES.
You meet Nibbles for the first time in W3 when you’re looking for the Bloody Baron’s missing daughter. Nibbles doesn’t hiss at Geralt. Not even once. Instead, while you wait to talk to someone, Geralt gets down on Nibbles’ level and the two just stare at each other for a while. Nibbles, the resident good boy and a 10/10 cute cat, is pretty damn relaxed during this entire interaction. He just chills on a table, grooming himself, & giving Geralt the normal amount of cat attention. & It’s clear Geralt is fascinated by this kitty oddity. Legit every other cat hisses at him. Every other cat hates witchers. Nibbles, this bizarre non-hissing kitty, captures Geralt’s attention right away.
SO LISTEN Y’ALL. All I’m really saying in this post is that 1) GERALT SHOULD HAVE BEEN ABLE TO PET NIBBLES. LET GERALT PET NIBBLES. And 2) Nibbles deserves more recognition.
Also. Maybe even a third point.... 3) It’d be cool to see more theories about Nibbles in fics. Cause it is a bit odd that Nibbles appears several times throughout Witcher 3 (& in both DLC packs), seemingly following Geralt around the Continent. He shows up in several different places (that are huge distances apart) and is mentioned by several characters that have nothing to do with one another (or Nibbles) throughout the game. I know that he was just born as a “filmmaking trick due to a technical necessity that came up” during the making of the game. But Nibbles is a mystery magic cat. & if it isn’t clear already, I LOVE THIS FUNKY LIL FLUFF. THIS IS A NIBBLES APPRECIATION POST.
Okay this is a weird thought, but like. Do you think Geralt can like speak backwards? Hear me out okay, just listen
He’s been around for a long time, right? Sure when we meet him he doesn’t talk that much but he still has a past man, a mans gotta know language in order to speak to people. I’m someone who likes to think Geralt, and the rest of the Witcher’s, are really educated. Not only monster nerds, but also smooth with words when they wanna be y’know?
I can’t help but think that Geralt and Eskel totally learn to speak backwards. I don’t know why, but I honestly think it would be hella cool.
Jaskier like comes along and starts traveling with Geralt and maybe they go to Oxenfurt and they drink and have a good time and Geralt is taking a drink of his ale and is feeling a bit of a buzz when Jaskier asks “so is there anything you can do other than witchery stuff” and Geralt takes a moment to think before saying something backwards and Jaskier. just. stares.
Huh?? Geralt like smiles a little and hides it behind his ale while Jaskier just takes a moment, because what the fuck, Geralt. What was that.

I’m kind of obsessed with the idea that Jaskier makes his own paper and makes his own books from scratch. You know the really aesthetic looking tiktoks or how to tutorials on making a book? Yeah, that’s Jaskier.
Like I can see him having a small bucket that’s long enough filled with river water and paper he’s cut up and let soak, and running a screen through and letting the pages dry over night by their camp fire.
Or him sewing the pages together and creating the spine and covers. I’m not too educated on the process, so I’m sorry if I get everything wrong or if I don’t add to much detail onto the idea, but I’d like to hear everyone else’s ideas to this.
Another is, I think Geralt would absolutely love watching Jaskier do all this. Very relaxing.
