Hera:

Hera:

WHAT'S GOING ON IN HERE?! DID YOU MENTION MY S O N?!

inspired by the ‘your afternoon was already ruined’ post

Death Star Stormtroopers: “Freeze!”

Han: (panicking, trying to come up with a lie): Woah there don’t shoot, uh, you can’t shoot us because—because this guy is Darth Vader’s son! You don’t want to be responsible for shooting Darth Vader’s own flesh and bone do you?”

Luke: *glares incredulously*

Stormtroopers: “That is the dumbest thing—”

Leia: (done at this point, absolutely done with this rescue, better than Han at lying) “Exactly! Why would we tell you something so phenomenally insane if it weren’t true! Why do you think Darth Vader is so obsessed with finding Rebels, huh? Call him he’ll tell you!”

Luke: (also done, much better than Han at lying): “Or you could just shoot us; I’m sure my father, Darth Vader, inventor of the lightsaber, would be thrilled to meet the men who killed his son and his son’s friends.” *waves lightsaber arrogantly*

Stormtrooper 1: “Maybe we should call this in. I mean—he’s got a lightsaber, so that’s—that’s Vader stuff anyway.”

Stormtrooper 2: “are you kidding me right now?”

Leia: *shoots them while they’re distracted*

Han: “…We’re friends?”

//

Tarkin: “The rebels said what? You incompetent fool, how could you buy such an absurd stalling—”

Vader: “My…son…”

Tarkin:

Tarkin: Oh fuck THIS.

This reminds me of a song.

Andrew Peterson's one of my favorite artists and is up there with CS Lewis and JRR Tolkien in my eyes, so take this as a recommendation to check out this awesome singer/songwriter/ author

Check out the Rabbit Room, too, if you have the time, for more cool artists of all kinds.

May I have enough hope to sing in the night.

May I have faith even as my body fails me, and it feels like everything is unraveling.

May I have the strength to hold on even if the healing never comes in this lifetime.

Even when the sun goes down, even when clouds blot out the moon and stars, may the Fire I carry, given to me by the One who made all light, be a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path.

Oh gosh y e s.

This is perfect and I shall have to write up some cryptid Batfam angsting and terrifying the JL tomorrow

idea: batman and the robins never acknowledge that there have been different robins. like they all act that there's only been one and that they're the same person basically.

Justice League who's used to teen dick not kid jason: who is this child?

Batman: what do you mean, it's robin.

-

Batman and Tim walking through the watchtower:

Justice League who remembers robin literally dying: ...*side eye*...

-

Flash: batman… who is this?

Batman: robin. you’ve met before. several times.

Flash: no, i met a black haired boy. this is a blonde girl!

Batman: her name is robin

-

Superman: it's time for you to explain. where are you getting all these children?

Batman: i have no idea what you're talking about.

Superman *pointing to damian*: who is this kid?!

Damian: i'm robin. i'm offended you would even ask that? don't you remember *proceeds to recite a story dick told him of his robin days*

Random rant here, but anyway -

You know how in MHA genderbend fics they give Izuku Midoriya a different name, usually Izumi or something? I loathe that.

Why? Well, you know how he's the ninth user of One for All? The ku in his name is nine. Each of the One for All wielders has their number somewhere in their name.

But enter any genderbend fic? Goodbye number! I have yet to find a genderbend fic where they kept the ku in the name.

Another note that fic users should use sometime: when the OFA users call Izuku Nine they're probably calling him Ku, which is adorable as all get out.

So, guess who recently discovered that Greta Gerwig (She was the director for Barbie) is in charge of the Narnia adaptation.

So, Guess Who Recently Discovered That Greta Gerwig (She Was The Director For Barbie) Is In Charge Of

Yeah no we're all doomed so much for having any hope.

@narnia fans watch out...

(note, this is not against Greta Gerwig and her capabilities as a director, no, it's just looking at her work and realizing that Narnia is not her style at all)

there are literally so many reasons why we don't need a third Narnia adaptation

first of all, while they might not be the most accurate, the Disney movies are actually so good and, in my opinion, still manage to capture the heart and soul of the series and what it's truly about. The characters are each perfectly portrayed; the Pevensies act like actual siblings and yet love each other dearly and would die for each other even through all the petty arguments; the music creates perfect atmosphere and emotion and never fails to make me tear up or get shivers down my spine; and the CGI is honestly just absolutely stunning.

I really do not feel like we need another adaptation by Netflix.

Especially not through Netflix.

Netflix has already been known to mess up so many shows and movies by completely changing the source material or adding in unnecessary things that completely take away from the purpose of the story. I can already see them warping Narnia into something that barely even resembles the books, that strips it of its purpose and simply makes it about a fantasy world, nothing more. I've already seen posts saying that the new movies just can't end the way the books end, that heaven must be explained away, that Susan never forgets and falls down a dark path, that the faith aspect must be taken out so as not to offend new viewers.

Here's the thing.

If you take faith out of Narnia, you remove the very heart of the series. you remove the entire purpose. Because Narnia is entirely about faith, and trust, and Someone greater than yourself who sacrifices everything to save your own traitorous soul. the Disney movies did not shy away from portraying this faith as openly as possible. if anyone was offended, I've never seen proof. I have seen many nonbelievers talk about how much they were affected by Aslan's death, which goes to show that you simply don't have to be Christian to understand what Narnia is about, and to love and enjoy it.

So if these new remakes remove the faith aspect, then what is the point? four siblings go to a magical land and save it from a witch and befriend a talking lion with nothing special about him and live there as kings and queens and return home and live happily ever after? there is no sacrifice, there is no "he's not tame, but he is good," there is no creation, there is no redemption, there is no last battle, there is no "in your world, I have another name", there is no sister straying down a dark path because she has forgotten how to hope, and then returning because her story is unfinished and the road to heaven is paved with flowers that symbolize her name.

so then, what are you left with? Aslan is just a talking lion, nothing more. the stone table never cracks, the sun never rises. "That by knowing me here for a little, you may know me better there" is forgotten entirely, because why would Aslan exist in our world if he is merely a talking lion in Narnia? Aslan's country is changed to be something else, and there is nothing about how Aslan suddenly no longer looks like a lion, and how the things that happened after are more great and beautiful than can be described. Edmund's life is never threatened because of his traitorous deeds; Aslan never offers his own life in place of a guilty boy, is never killed, is never resurrected.

the very core of Narnia is removed, and what you are left with is emptiness.

sure, it might make for a good fantasy story nonetheless. you might still have sweeping views and epic music and an intriguing plotline, but something will always feel like it is missing. like there is an empty hole, desperately needing to be filled.

of course, I don't know that all of that will happen; it's just speculation at this point. But I am fairly sure that it is safe to predict these upcoming movies as such. I highly doubt the producers will want to include the faith that shapes Narnia, because according to them, having a faith aspect means less viewers since too many people would be offended.

but if only they would look at the already wonderful existing adaptations, they would know that is simply not the case.

So... Demetrius seems really cold here, yeah?

I'd like to make a case for it being the exact opposite. Demetrius is the one to go home on break, which suggests that he cares for his family more than his studies. I think that "Don't get your hopes up" is a big brother trying to protect the little one from heartbreak. Because this family deserves a little softness, some mutual support before their lives fall apart. After all, Donovan Desmond being a warmonger is going to have some consequences, and consequences for those kinds of things affect the whole family.

Bruce sighed, turning to Tim as his eldest tried to hang off of Jason's jacket. "Tim, Timmy, kiddo. Where did that come from?? You've never expressed thoughts like this, to my awareness."

Timothy's eyes were wide. He gazed up innocently at Bruce. "But, B, you were the one I learned it from."

The Cave froze and Bruce remembered the two years from hell.

He groaned, pinching the bridge of his nose. " Fair enough. Why do you remember everything I say?"

Tim shrugged as Dick launched himself at Bruce.

Bruce caught his son gently, embracing Dick. "What is it, chum?"

"You didn't deny iiiit!!" Dick wailed, coiling himself around Bruce.

Bruce sighed. "Simple explanation. Back when Tim was starting out as Robin."

Dick cringed, springing back and nodding as he stood straight. "Yep, makes sense, I did a bit of that too. You know, you and I are lucky Clark and Tim snapped us out of our funk. Now that we're well out of it, though, what's stopping us from a eensy weensy bit of violence?"

Bruce huffed.

Dick nodded. "Fair enough, Clark would interfere again..."

A throat cleared, and the original Dynamic Duo glanced at the rest of their family. "Yes?"

"What are you two even talking about?"

Tim spoke up in reply, "Probably the separate times where they nearly killed Joker. Uncle Clark stopped B, B stopped Dick. Both cases were stopped for the respective attemptee's sanity. To my guess they were talking about joining Jason in violence against Joker."

Jason gaped. "What the-"

\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\

An AU where Batman when Jason dies, comes up with dark reasons why keeping villains alive is better than killing them. And it continues to get darker and more detailed the longer he’s in grief.

So when Tim become Robin he keeps on accidentally hearing Batman mutter to himself stuff like:

“Death is a mercy they doesn’t deserve”

“My revenge is something hell can’t reproduce”

“Let justice decide their fate”

“I won’t become like them. I’ll become worse, and I’ll do it while keeping to my rules”

and he just has to sit there pretending he can’t hear as Batman lists horrible reasons why keeping all the villains alive is better then just straight up killing them for his own sanity.

so early Tim’s motto when he wanted to kill a villains who was hurting people close to him and 100% deserved to die was:

“If i kill them now my revenge will end and hell’s will begins. I have to keep them alive so mine can continue”

Ofc as Batman recovers from all the grief of losing his son, and training the new Robin, he slowly stops thinking and saying stuff like that. Tim also knows that this thought process is wrong but it never fully goes away….

Years later when everyone is hanging out, Jason is complaining about why they have to keep the Joker alive and Tim just says what he used to say to himself all the time, out loud.

Tim: “if you kill the joker now your chance at revenge ends and hell’s begins, death is a mercy he doesn’t deserve. keep him alive, show him what hell wishes they could.”

And there’s just horrified and concerned looks from everyone in the room.

——————————————————————————————————

just a Au I enjoy exploring every once in a while. This would never happen but I love see a Tim with a slightly darker side to him that comes out every once in a while :p . hope you enjoyed it too

Alfred- Actually, young masters, by that rule, not even I would be able to go on patrol, or Master Bruce.

The boys- ... what.

Bruce- ...

Alfred- I fought in war, and Master Bruce was rather sloppy both when he started out and during that interim in between Master Jason's death and Master Tim's coming. Also, alien invasions.

Tim- *nodding understandingly* Yeah, that's why I became Robin-...wait. Does that mean I failed to take care of all of Bruce's victims back then?

Alfred- The deaths were before you started calling the EMTs and police in Batman's footsteps, Master Timothy. Don't worry about it.

Bruce- *sighs* And when I started out I was fresh out of League training and had yet to form my non-lethal style of fighting. Which was why I wanted Damian to be trained before becoming Robin, Dick. Also, I was much more fond of bombs.

Jason- hold up hold up hold up. You have a kill count... But you won't kill Joker?

Bruce- Not for a lack of trying on my part. Clark stopped me before I stopped Dick.

Jason - 😐🥹🥲 you both tried to avenge me?

Bruce - yes, jaylad. Yes.

Batman, dividing everyone up for patrol- Jason, you're with Steph, Damian, you're coming with me, Dick, you're with Cass. Tim, are you fine going solo?

Tim- Yup

Jason- Oh, come on! Why does he get to go solo?

Batman- Your brother gets to go solo because he doesn't have a kill count.

Jason- Oh, he SO does

Tim, whispering- It doesn't count if he doesn't find the bodies

No one:

Literally my entire family:

*displays so many adhd tendencies*

*lives in chaos*

*it's full of love and laughter but we're also insane*

Me:

*the only one going to try and get a diagnosis*

No One:

Okay but in all seriousness none of us but the youngest ones have it as bad as me so it makes sense. But I'm just saying. If we all got psych evaluations, I'm pretty sure that only one of us and the two year old who's too young for a definite diagnosis anyway would remain undiagnosed with some form of neurodivergence

Maybe my mom but she has more subtle adhd tendencies and aphantasia.

Tbh, this is part of why I am intensely glad we're homeschooled. First off, we don't have to deal with any of the bull the rest of y'all get. Second off, as nd as we are? Some of us would be bullied, and I cannot guarantee that murders would not be committed.

... okay probably not murder but definitely assault. There are too many protective older siblings in this family.

Absolutely nobody:

Okay is this why we get diagnoses:

Me, full of feral energy, in the midst of a research high and being chaotic as all get out: Must. Know. All the things! *is focused intently on the one subject to know all the things about* *feels like I'm about to vibrate out of my skin when I hit a stall*

Also me, five seconds later being squirrelly as we leave family friends' house: wait is this what people mean when they talk about ADHD hyperfixations?

my family, in the middle of supporting some friends through a crisis: okay, kids in the basement. Peace, you go too, we're going to talk, your mom will explain what's going on to the best of her abilities.

Me, five minutes later: *practically vibrating with creative/anxious energy* ...nah I don't want to read even my favorite book I want my bag with things so I can m a k e. Makymake.

My brothers, about to rip their hair out: just. stop. pacing loudly. Read a book.

There is nothing that can ever be quite like fleeing town to not be bothered by the sheer amount of trick or treaters on our street, and then, in a very odd fashion, running into the Kansas cryptid goat named Jack. He's feral, the size of a small horse, and somehow our friends have tamed him enough to put a collar on him and take him for walks.

Not just that, but the show ninja have been growing darker and darker every day that they don't have their big brother with them, so... the day they crash through to the other side, Ninjago City is in t r o u b l e, and so is this knockoff of the guy that, by then, they'll have already defeated somehow. Because no matter how bitter and angry and separated they are, at the end of the day they're still family

Well, cats is certainly accurate to my thoughts on Lucy. I just think she prefers big cats. More specifically, she likes lions.

They all like lions, it's rather inescapable for the pevensie family, but Lucy? There's no animal she loves more. There's that indisputable connection with Aslan, and then of course, their valiant spirits.

As for Edmund, well, let's look at what we know about the character and his experiences with animals in Narnia. He probably prefers the underdogs, the ones who need justice, the ones no one will expect.

All that to say- horses. It's horses. Edmund loves horses. At least, movie Edmund does. Book Edmund? It's probably elephants, the silent giants so eager to protect, intelligent and just amongst each other.

Now, Susan.

Susan is our girl who loves house cats. Not for their connection with Aslan, no. Because they're pretty and dignified, and gentle, but they have claws and they're willing to use them.

Peter likes gorillas. They're strong, protective, dedicated to their families, and, quite simply, magnificent.

What animals are the pevensies favourites . Like do they prefer the usual cats and dogs or do they lean to the unusal types like turtles and octopuses ?

A photo of Antigone, versus a photo of Lloyd Garmadon.

PROPAGANDA UNDER THE CUT: [SPOILERS AND POSSIBLE TRIGGERS AHEAD]

ANTIGONE:

"She's so. She wanted to be right. She wanted to be a tragic hero that died for the sins of hubris so badly she dragged the tragedy down with her. But also she had no choice because her own hubris was countered with the hubris of craeon who refused to admit to his mistake. Just. Man. I'm sorry"

LLOYD GARMADON:

"he is soooo traumatised like give him a break. even in just the first 2 seasons his dad is evil and he finds out it's his destiny to fight him!! and his mum abandoned him at a boarding school and he ran away and almost got eaten by a snake and was homeless for a bit, and after his uncle took him in he got aged up by a potion, so he's like a 10 year old in a 14 year olds body and he has so many adult responsibilities and he lost his entire childhood!! thats not even everything in the first 2 seasons, and theres SIXTEEN. get this man some therapy"
"He was like 8 when he become the prophesied green ninja and had to fucking defeat his dad and possibly kill him. I'm the following season he uses a potion to transform him from a young kid to the rest of the group's age. In season 5 he gets possessed by a ghost who is jealous that he's the green ninja. In season 8 he gets a girlfriend that tries to kill him then dies in front of him a season later. In season 4, he had to send his father to basically hell to save the world. In season 8 he got beat up by the evil version of his resurrected father. In season 3 he had to watch his friend die. In season one he got manipulated by snake. In season 11 he gets another girlfriend then had to leave the home realm where said girlfriend was. In season 17 he was isolated for years because all of his friends got separated. In season 15 he had to watch his friend loose her humanity. The list goes on I just can't remember anymore."
"1) His ex-girlfriend convinced his dad to beat us ass. 2) He has no sense of identity outside of being the Green Ninja 3) He was aged up from a child to a teenager, making lose part of his childhood. 4) He got abandoned at a school for evil kids, but since he's a massive loser he got bullied there until he was kicked out. 5) He was homeless afterwards. 6) Got drained like a battery by Ninjago Satan 7) Got possessed by a vengeful ghost 8) Force to kill his own dad 9) Dad got revived, but has no memories of his former self. 10) Almost drowned by evil ex gf."

To be frank, I'm equally terrified. But I have hopes, frail and feeble as they may be. I suppose we shall have to see what comes of this, and if necessary the Netflix movies will be to us as the Percy Jackson movies. Pretty, but idiotic in every way that counts.
