Cinnabar Moth
Tyria jacobaeae
The cinnabar moth is part of the Erebidae family, one of the largest moth families. It is named after the mineral cinnabar, which is a similar bright red to the moth’s red & black wings. This species was first described in 1758 by Carl Linnaeus and can be seen flying during the day and night.
Description Cinnabar moths usually have black forewings with red patterns and red hindwings with a black border. However on rare occasions, the red is replaced with yellow, or the forewings are red with a black border or fully black. These colors tell potential predators that the cinnabar moth is unpalatable, or has a unpleasant bitter taste.
Average wingspan of 37 mm (≈1.5 in)
Diet and Habitat These moths are native to Europe, eastern and central Asia, Siberia, and China. This species feeds on plants in the Senecio genus, especially ragwort. This plant is the reason why cinnabar moths do not taste good to predators since the caterpillars absorb bitter substances from the ragwort’s leaves. This plant is also why the cinnabar moth was brought to New Zealand, Australia, and North America since ragwort is an invasive plant species.
Mating Mating season for cinnabar moths is in early August. Female moths can lay up to 300 eggs on the underside of ragwort leaves in batches of 30 to 60 eggs.
Predators Most predators avoid cinnabar moths and larvae, except for various species of the cuckoo bird. Cinnabar moths have few predators because are a bright red, signaling to predators that they are unpalatable, or have a unpleasant bitter taste.
Fun Fact (CW: cannibalism) If and when the cinnabar caterpillars run out of leaves to eat on the ragwort plant, they will turn to cannibalism and eat each other for survival.

You know what the best part of being the red crowns carrier is? You can bring whoever you want back to life, and kill them again, just to bring them back to life and repeat the process...Sure, it's painful, but not an everlasting pain...so the Lamb decides to get it to a next level...

thought abt it a bit more n i think i wanna go "do these cruel horrible acts to prove your love for me" route. A selfish, cannibalistic kind of attachment. Like Rin is deeply, deeply insecure, esp after those she trusted most betrayed her. She finds peace in Camilo's obedience--both because they're killing the bishops and because they're showing the lengths they'll go for her. But there's still that chance they might betray her too. They mourn their followers and linger too long with the failed vessel. They give up just before their limits. They sleep and eat, putting off their goddess's release.
So she makes them crush all their other attachments for her.
All of her cruel commands are tests of their attachment and Camilo passes each one. But in the end, they still betray her. So when Lacey's sacrifice brings her back from death, she decides that she'll take what's hers by force.
Not her godhood. Not her throne. Not her crown.
Their heart.
ughhhh im so torn abt Rin (goat's evil Nari) n her characterization
like, part of me feels like a "quiet manipulation" theme would work super well. like she's all sweet to Camilo so they can be attached to her, but she's quietly punishing them and making them miserable to solidify their loyalty to her, n really she doesn't care abt them. N deep down they know that, but she smiles so sweetly and her realm is so warm, so they let themselves believe that all those little punishments are coincidences. When they betray her, it's like a pencil breaking. N when she's brought back, she continues her manipulation to gain as much power as she can just bc she can.
but what abt a Nari that fits most of the fandom's characterization?????? like. mf gets attached to Camilo, but keeps making them do cruel shit to prove their loyalty so she can feel safe abt them, n bc she straight up doesn't think other people matter. Then they betray her, and she's so angry and vengeful that she keeps manipulating them when she's brought back n eventually takes their heart n kills them. Like she seeks their affection and their hurt just as strongly as they do her own. She wraps it up in 'revenge' so she can sleep at night yk.

Alastor is a double cannibal (he eats humans and deer) and I just know he's proud of it.
Some sinner would talk about how they were a deer hunter and Alastor would materialize out of nowhere just to say "oh-ho! Deer hunting! I loved that when I was alive - still do! Deer meat just has such a delicious flavor!"
And everyone's just like "still? But... aren't you a...?"
"A deer? Why yes I am! I eat humans, why wouldn't I eat deer, too?"
Then everyone is just like "oh yeah it's Alastor" and carries on like normal, except the one sinner who started it who's still trying to figure out where this guy came from and is now deeply disturbed.

If ever there was a topic he thoroughly enjoyed, torture was it but alas, most people found it too uncomfortable or even downright unacceptable as casual conversation, much less going into specific detail about it.
”See... torture, there’s no one right way of going about it. Your average serial killer and sadist, they get these ideas in their heads, start falling back on particular methods. I like tried and tested as much as any other guy out there but they lack dedication. They use torture as a tool. Me? I make it into a work of art, exploring the possibilities to maximize suffering and misery.” He sighed longingly, fingers itching for some quality fun. It had been a couple of weeks since he’d last unwound with a good session, being too caught up in his work as of late to truly dedicate himself to his most macabre of hobbies.
