top/bottom discourse in the Genshin fandom is annoying

hear me out, I don’t have anything against people who like one fixed dynamic only. Unless they go out of their way to harass other fixed/switch dynamic shippers

and that’s exactly what happened to a zine artist. The zine is for profit, also still in the making but they announced a guest artist who doesn’t care about strict dynamics, they occasionally lean towards the other dynamic (let’s call it vanilla) but would draw the fixed dynamic (chocolate) for this zine

people who wanted chocolate only were angry about the fact that an artist who leans more to vanilla was invited for a chocolate zine. They called it “false advertising” and “being lied to” and “how can we make sure this person will only draw chocolate?!” and “how dare you invite a VANILLA artist for CHOCOLATE!”

the harassment was so bad that the artist deactivated their twitter and I’m really sad to hear that. What more, there were Chinese fixed shipper in the comments who insulted the zine mods and artist, making comments like “it looks you slept with each other” or “if you don’t get why were complaining, you’re stupid!”

and I’m just like… this is no big deal.

This zine is not out yet. No one lost money, no one was hurt by “false advertising”. The zine mods protect the artist and said switch shippers are welcome as long as they draw the fixed dynamic the mods decided on, which the artist will do or would have done. If you don’t like the product, you don’t have to buy it! It makes me sad that something so little exploded into something so big

Unfortunately this isn't just a Genshin issue. Fans are fucking rabid about top/bottom discourse and it usually boils down to some kind of heteronormative-vaguely-sexist flavor.

You see it most often in ships which have very obvious dynamic and personality differences. The "little sunshine one" is always the super feminine uwu bottom. The tallest one is always the top, though some people like to add a little spice by making them a submissive top.

And don't get me wrong—I'm not immune. I have the odd pairing where I'm more fixated on a set sexual dynamic, but I'm a switch shipper through and through. And I'd certainly never try to dictate that my preferences in fanon are the universal rule.

In all honesty, I'd have cancelled the zine. People need to learn that actions have consequences. If you want the fun fandom thing, you have to be respectful. Too many people have caved to fandom pressure and harassment and just aided in educating people that being cunts effectively gets them what they want. People need to learn there are consequences to ruining it for everyone else.

(Because lets be honest, you are going to be nobody's favorite person if everyone knows you're the reason they lost out on something.)

Does it really bother anyone else that so often the different dynamics in Omegaverse, AKA A/B/O is regularly referred to as 'secondary genders" when they're *sexes* not genders because Gender ≠ Sex ? Like... For all the trans and intersex folks can we maybe call them secondary sexes since they aren't genders... Pls?

I don't know how people can ship their oc's with there friends oc's all the time. My oc's have certain taste and I need that sweet chemistry and development. Them just looking attractive and being paired isn't enough imo.

Anyone feel the same?

Random Alpha Headcanons

Since this week was Alpha week, technically, I decided to come out of my trenches and actually write up some headcanons. These will all seriously be random and if I reuse someone’s or my own, call me out so I can link and tag. I am but a fool.

Not sure if I had already done random Alpha headcanons before, but I’m doing them now and we are going to have fun damn it.

The jacuzzi tub was made by an Alpha who wanted to fit in a tub.

Alphas are thought to always run hot, but in actuality their body temperature goes only a bit higher when their bonded mate is feeling cold.

Alpha/Alpha have a stronger physical bond than anything else in comparison to other pairing bonded couples.

Alphas gossip a lot, more than any other dynamic.

When it comes down to becoming feral, Alphas are the ones who are the quickest to become feral and also the easiest to calm down.

Although they are the strongest dynamic, their strength is only during protecting their mates or themselves and never for anything petty.

Alphas aren’t as stoic and angry as people think that they care.

There are more Alpha dancers than other dynamics. They are taller, more nimble on their feet, and strong.

^ Same goes for models, there are more Alpha models than other dynamics.

Alphas cannot get pregnant.

Alphas get just as much time off as their counterparts for ruts and paternity(/maternity) leave.

They tend to scare more easily than the other two dynamics. This is because they are ready to protect as well as big scaredy cats

They are the hairiest dynamic. This is because they are always trying to keep their partners warm.

Alpha/Alpha are physically passionate lovers.

You’d see more Alpha cops or EMTs than you would see firefighters and/or doctors.

A lot of Alphas actually have cats.

The biggest hobby that Alphas have is puzzling.

Young Avengers MCU

I'm so excited for all the young avenger dynamics we could get, I mean we have Kamala Kahn, Kate Bishop, maybe America Chavez possibly Tommy and Billy and maybe even a certain (unnamed for spoiler purposes) character from Thor Love and Thunder. Plus I know he's already an Avenger but if Peter Parker were on this team it would be so interesting. He could maybe use it as his own therapy after No Way Home

What's one of your favorite dynamics? Or more than one if you can't pick a favorite.

I tend to go for the dynamics of the nerdy person paired with someone that can kick ass, who encourages them to do things their own way but will kick ass if absolutely necessary to protect the other person / Group. Chuck and Sarah are a great example of this from the show 'CHUCK' Dwight and Gretta are another great example from 'Dwight in shining armor' as is Jane and Lisbon in 'the mentalist'

I'm a sucker for nerds or soft bois that just wanna do the right thing when their friends are in danger or get pulled into a dangerous situation.

It's why I have such a soft spot for Eddie and Steve in stranger things and Leon from RE2.
