I find it curious that in a lot of Always-a-Sith!Anakin fanfics Vaderkin loses (or has already lost) an arm. Not a problem, but something I’ve noticed and I don’t fully understand the reasoning behind the choice to keep that part of canon?
Anakin loses his arm in AotC because George Lucas wanted to show that he was beginning his path toward the Dark Side, or so I’ve heard. Also, Anakin loses his arm as a reckless Jedi Padawan while fighting a Sith. No way would Darth Sidious have allowed his apprentice to be so reckless as to lose an arm due to overconfidence and anger.
Quite a few of the Sith!Anakins end up being redeemed and turn to the Light, so the symbolism doesn’t really make sense to me.
Edit: @thejusticelegacy gives a good explanation for keeping the robotic arm in their reblogging of this post.

"Part of [creating the Obi-Wan Kenobi series] was interfacing with George. Early on, there was a conversation had with George over his thoughts were, and whether or not honestly he would balk at the whole concept of 'we're taking Obi-Wan and Vader again and we're doing this [storyline]'. And he was a hundred percent supportive. And I've heard tell that it's been one of his favorite things that's come out of Star Wars, because he recognizes so much of what he did in the prequels basically brought forward and celebrated." --Pablo Hidalgo, Full of Sith podcast #VINDICAAAAAATIOOOOONNNN #THE OBI-WAN KENOBI SERIES NAILED BEING AN EXTENSION OF THE PREQUELS #FROM THE AESTHETIC DETAILS OF FIGHT CHOREOGRAPHY TO THE THEMES OF THESE CHARACTERS #THAT SHOW UNDERSTOOD THE ASSIGNMENT #AND I'M GOING TO STAPLE THIS TO EVERYONE'S DOOR OUT OF SHEER GLEE THAT GEORGE LUCAS AGREES

Ok so we all know Ewan Mcgregor kisses literally everyone especially men and blames it on being Scottish lol
He's kissed Hayden Christensen numerous times as well as Jim Carrey and a plethora of co-stars and interviewers it's nothing new of course.
But, I remember hearing somewhere that he would chase George Lucas around on the set of the Prequels and threaten to kiss him (apparently old George was not a fan of it) the image of that being fucking hysterical.
But I can not for the life of me find it again, was it an interview? behind the scenes footage? a random YouTube or reddit comment? If anyone knows what I'm talking about please let me know!!
Please tell me I didn't imagine that shit? 😂

Dude it's hilarious how George Lucas has actually said that Anakin gets his eye scar falling in the shower😂
I'd definitely like to work that into a fic one day lol
gotta love how unserious George can be about his creations

THE LAND BEFORE TIME (Dir: Don Bluth, 1988).
In 1979 director Don Bluth famously led an animators walk out at the Disney Studios to form his own company Don Bluth Productions. Their first feature length venture The Secret of NIMH (Bluth, 1982) while critically well received was a commercial disappointment and it wasn’t until after Bluth released the groundbreaking coin operated video game Dragon’s Lair that Hollywood once again came calling.
The Land Before Time was to be Bluth’s third feature and his second, following An American Tale (1986), for Steven Spielberg’s Amblin Entertainment, co-produced by Lucasfilm. This surprisingly downbeat dinosaur adventure is something of a prehistoric Bambi meets The Incredible Journey as longneck Littlefoot, after the death of his mother and separation from his grandparents, teams up with a band of similarly lost young dinos to find their families in the fabled Great Valley.
Just as An American Tail was pitted against Disney’s Great Mouse Detective on original release, The Land Before Time found itself competing against Disney’s Oliver and Company in late ‘88. Unlike the previous meeting, Disney’s movie was box office champ on this occasion. However, I would argue that, on this occasion, Bluth’s movie is superior. Unlike the numerous made for video sequels, the original Land Before Time features some beautiful animation, and while its plot is quite basic and occasionally saccharine, it is sophisticated enough to engage adults as well as children.
At little over an hour The Land Before Time is short and sweet. Stick around for the end titles for Diana Ross’ lovely ballad ‘If We Hold On Together’.

STAR WARS: THE RISE OF SKYWALKER (Dir: J.J. Abrams, 2019).
I am writing this review assuming that anyone reading it will already know a little about the Star Wars universe. This latest movie The Rise of Skywalker is the final instalment of the nine movie strong (not including spin-offs) saga.
In this, Episode IX, the Resistance are, once again, up against the First Order. Rey, meanwhile has some serious soul searching to do and some pretty important decisions to make.
A bit more of a romp than the preceding two instalments, co-writer/director J.J. Abrams has fashioned a rollercoaster adventure that barely stops for breath. Its more poignant and emotional moments, of which there are many, are offset by the humour that was sadly missing in the prequels and by a general good natured atmosphere.
Special effects are, as you would expect, spectacular. There are enough twists and turns in the plot to keep you on the edge of your seat, while longtime fans will appreciate the nods to previous movies including some welcome cameos of characters past.
Key to the movies enjoyment is the game playing of its likeable cast, most notably Oscar Isaacs’ Poe Dameron; his cheeky-chappie-Han-Solo-ish persona comes to the fore more here than in previous movies and for me, Isaacs is the real standout of the newer gang members. Perhaps as a consequence, Finn seems a little underwritten. While John Boyega has impressed in previous entries, here, through no fault of his own, is left with seemingly little to do. As Rey, Daisy Ridley spends much of the movie in a sort of heroic turmoil, but this she does excellently! While, over the course of three movies Adam Driver has pretty much perfected his mean and moody bit as bad’un Kylo Ren.
So we conclude the Star Wars nineology (or whatever) with a movie which, while perhaps not among the best of the series is still a mostly satisfying end to the franchise. Those fans who come to Star Wars first and foremost to be entertained should not be disappointed.

The “A Star Wars Story” concept is the best thing that got stiffed in Disney Star Wars. Everyone collectively agrees that Rogue One is a phenomenal movie but I think that Solo deserves the same kind of love.
Solo is not nearly as good as Rogue One but really I didn’t expect it to be and I think it is an incredibly entertaining and enjoyable movie that adds to the Han Solo character without vastly changing things about him.
People point to Alden Erenreich as not the best choice to play Han Solo but when I’m 10 minutes into his performance and he’s being exactly the stuck up, over confident, douche he is in the beginning of A New Hope I had no question on the casting choice
Solo ranked fairly low at the box office and that seems to be the reason Disney hasn’t made a Star Wars Story movie again. I think exploring these smaller stories that don’t really have to impact the whole galaxy like the main ones do is such an interesting and exciting concept that just got canned.
I wish they’d bring it back but I can sit and enjoy my two Star Wars Story movies without a need for more.

you failed, your highness. i am a jedi, like my father before me

The Three Musketeers, except it’s Star Wars. I’ll draw the boys next.
Fandom Fact: How Flash Gordon Spawned Star Wars
George Lucas originally wanted to make a big budget remake of the 1930′s serials. However, the rights holders turned down his proposal, and he made Star Wars instead.
It makes me wonder how pop culture might have developed differently had the Flash Gordon remake been given the green light. Would we all be quoting Ming the Merciless instead of Darth Vader, or would George Lucas have fallen into obscurity?

So tired of these hatemongers!😒
Someone give this man an Emmy 🏆

So many things to love about TROP, but Charlie Vickers is just brilliant! I never thought the Lord of the Rings could be a fav character of mine(I mean I love Hobbits)!! After watching Charlie as Halbrand>Annatar>Sauron…he IS so much more interesting in a way that I don’t think even Tolkien could’ve ever accomplished!!! I guess really what Payne/McKay have done is just give him the Anakin/Vader treatment that GL presented in the prequels…
