#4 BOUNDARIES

πŸ’¬:Boundaries are limits we set for ourselves. Everyone's boundaries are different, and they are based on what is personally important to us. They can be set in several aspects of life, such as work, relationships, family, and in conflict it can be physical or emotional limits and help to determine a person's comfort level, needs, and preferences. Essentially, boundaries dictate how we want/ allow ourselves to be treated, and how we treat others. Healthy boundaries allow for accountability, respect, and open communication.

Drawing the Line: Understanding and Setting Healthy Boundaries

οΉ™ πŸ’Œ ﹚ If you grew up in a home where no boundaries were set or where people violated your boundaries, setting and maintaining boundaries may be difficult. It is okay if it is hard. Setting clear boundaries is not selfish, it sets the tone for healthy relationships and is an important part of one's own well being. If you ever notice you feel resentful or drained by a person/place/situation, it may be time to look at the boundaries. Remember, boundaries are not threats or ultimatums. Sometimes it is hard for other's to respect our boundaries, but this is not a reflection of you.

Healthy boundaries look like...

β€’ valuing your own opinion

β€’ respecting limits set by you/ others

β€’ not compromising own values for someone else

β€’ sharing information appropriately

β€’ effectively communicating needs/wants

β€’ accepting "no" from others

β€’ being able to say "no"

β€’ being able to identify when a boundary has been broken

TYPE OF BOUNDARIES

Physical Boundaries: These relate to personal space, physical touch, and privacy. Examples include not wanting to be hugged or feeling uncomfortable being touched without permission. "I need personal space and don't appreciate being touched without consent."

Emotional Boundaries: These separate your emotions and responsibilities from others. Examples include not allowing yourself to be blamed for someone else's issues or not taking on other people's problems. "I'm not comfortable discussing my personal feelings right now."

Mental Boundaries: These protect your beliefs, opinions, and identity from being violated. Examples include not arguing about your values or not allowing others to belittle your thoughts and ideas. "I respect your opinion, but I disagree and prefer not to discuss this further."

(there is a lot of types but I focused on these 3)

How to set boundaries

Setting boundaries may take time and practice. Don't get down on yourself if it feels hard.

1. Identify what behaviors from others is acceptable for you, and what might cause discomfort

2. Clearly communicate your boundaries with others. Learn to say no and be assertive.

3. Decide what to do if someone breaks your boundaries. This may mean a tough discussion, taking time away, or ending a relationship.

4. Get clear on your values, needs, and limits. Reflect on what's most important to you and where you need to draw lines.

5. Start small if it's hard at first. Practice with something minor before bigger issues.

6. Use "I" statements to explain your boundary without blaming, like "I'm not comfortable with..."

7. Be direct, firm, and respectful when stating your boundary. Don't over-explain or get defensive.

8. You can't control others' reactions, but you can control how you respond. Calmly reinforce the boundary if needed.

9. Be consistent in upholding your boundaries. If you allow them to be crossed, they won't be taken seriously.

Δ±llΔ±Β β € :Β β € Remember setting and maintaining boundaries is not about controlling others but about creating a space where respectful and healthy interactions can thrive. ❛ ⠀ β™‘Β β € !!

#5:FIND PURPOSE

βœ‰οΈ:Finding a meaningful life purpose is a profound journey that many people embark on at different stages of their lives. It involves discovering what brings fulfillment, direction, and satisfaction. Identifying a purpose can help guide decisions, inspire actions, and provide a sense of meaning in both personal and professional aspects of life.

1.Ikigai: The Japanese Secret to Finding Your Life’s Purpose

οΉ™ πŸ’Œ ﹚ we will explore the concept of Ikigai, a Japanese term that means β€œa reason for being.” Ikigai is important to know because it offers a pathway to finding purpose and joy in life. It involves harmonizing four key elements: what you love, what you are good at, what the world needs, and what you can be rewarded for...

2.EVERYTHING ABOUT IKIGAI

Basically, ikigai is seen as the convergence of the following four core elements:

1. What you love (your passion)

2. What the world needs (your mission)

3. What you are good at (your vocation)

4. What you can get paid for (your profession)

The word ikigai, that space in the middle of these four primary elements, is seen by the Japanese as the source of value or what make one's life truly worthwhile.

THE 10 RULES OF IKIGAI

1. Stay Active, Don’t Retire:

- The idea behind this rule is to keep your mind and body engaged in meaningful activities. Retirement doesn't mean stopping all productive work. It encourages finding activities you enjoy and continuing to contribute to society, which can provide a sense of purpose and satisfaction.

-Benefits: Staying active helps maintain cognitive function, physical health, and emotional well-being. It can prevent feelings of uselessness and isolation.

2. Take It Slow:

- Embrace a slower, more deliberate pace of life. Instead of rushing through tasks, take time to savor and appreciate the process.

- Benefits:This can reduce stress and anxiety, improve the quality of your work and help u enjoy life more fully. It encourages mindfulness and living in the present moment.

3. Don’t Fill Your Stomach:

- The 80% rule, also known as "hara hachi bu" advises stopping eating when you're 80% full, rather than completely sated.

- Benefits: This practice promotes better digestion, prevents overeating, and can lead to a healthier weight. It’s associated with longevity and reduced risk of chronic diseases.

4. Surround Yourself with Good Friends:

- Build and maintain strong, positive relationships. Spend time with people who uplift and support you.

- Benefits: Good friends provide emotional support, reduce stress, and enhance your sense of belonging. Strong social connections are linked to better mental health and increased life expectancy.

5. Get in Shape for Your Next Birthday:

- Regular physical activity is essential for maintaining health and energy. Aim to improve or maintain your fitness level each year.

- Benefits: Exercise boosts physical health, mental clarity, and mood. It helps prevent chronic diseases, improves sleep, and enhances overall quality of life.

6. Smile:

- Adopting a positive attitude and smiling can improve your mood and the mood of those around you.

- Benefits: Smiling releases endorphins, reduces stress, and promotes a positive outlook. It can improve social interactions and relationships.

7. Reconnect with Nature:

- Spend time outdoors and appreciate the natural world. This can involve walking in parks, hiking, gardening, or simply enjoying a sunny day.

- Benefits: Nature exposure reduces stress, boosts mood, and improves mental health. It can also enhance physical health and encourage a sense of wonder and connection to the world.

8. Give Thanks:

- Practice gratitude regularly by acknowledging and appreciating the positive aspects of your life.

- Benefits: Gratitude enhances happiness, reduces negative emotions, and improves mental health. It can also strengthen relationships and foster a more positive outlook on life.

9. Live in the Moment:

- Focus on the present rather than dwelling on the past or worrying about the future. Engage fully in whatever you are doing at the moment.

- Benefits:This practice, also known as mindfulness, reduces stress and enhances enjoyment and satisfaction. It can improve mental clarity and emotional regulation.

10. Follow Your Ikigai:

-Discover and pursue your Ikigaiβ€”the intersection of what you love, what you are good at, what the world needs, and what you can be paid for. Let this guide your life choices and actions.

- Benefits:Finding and following your Ikigai leads to a fulfilling and meaningful life. It helps align your passions with your skills and societal contributions, resulting in a sense of purpose and happiness.

The "Lucky Vicky" Mindset

The "Lucky Vicky" Mindset
The "Lucky Vicky" Mindset
The "Lucky Vicky" Mindset

The Lucky Vicky Mindset, inspired by K-pop idol Jang Wonyoung from the gg ive , emphasizes a positive, resilient approach to life. This mindset encourages self-improvement, focusing on personal strengths, and maintaining a positive outlook even in challenging situations.

୨ৎ Key Principles of the Lucky Vicky Mindset

1. Born Strong from the Start

- Understand that mistakes are opportunities for growth.

- πŸ’Œ Embrace failures as learning experiences. If you fail a test or face a setback, view it as a chance to learn and grow stronger.

2. Maintain Your Own Pace

- Avoid comparing yourself to others and focus on your own journey.

- πŸ’Œ Set personal goals and milestones. Celebrate your progress, no matter how small. Track your improvement and stay motivated by your achievements.

3. Focus on Strengths Rather Than Weaknesses

- Concentrate on developing your strengths instead of fixating on weaknesses.

- πŸ’Œ Identify your unique strengths and find ways to use them to your advantage. Work on improving areas of weakness without letting them overshadow your strengths.

୨ৎ Practical Steps to Adopt the Lucky Vicky Mindset

1. Daily Affirmations

- Start each day with positive affirmations that reinforce your strengths and potential. For example, β€œI am capable of achieving my goals,” or β€œI learn from my mistakes and grow stronger.”

2. Reflect and Reframe

- When faced with a setback, reflect on what happened and how you can learn from it. Reframe negative thoughts into positive ones. Instead of thinking, β€œI failed,” consider, β€œI learned a valuable lesson.”

3. Goal Setting

- Set specific, achievable goals that align with your strengths and interests. Break them down into smaller, manageable tasks to track your progress and maintain motivation.

4. Mindfulness and Self-Care

- Practice mindfulness to stay focused on the present moment and reduce anxiety about the future. Incorporate self-care routines such as meditation, exercise, or hobbies you enjoy.

5. Surround Yourself with Positivity

- Surround yourself with positive influences, such as supportive friends, inspiring content, or motivational quotes. Engage with communities that uplift and encourage you.

୨ৎ Addressing Challenges

1. Dealing with Negative Feedback

- Understand that negative feedback is part of growth. Use it constructively to improve while not letting it undermine your self-worth. Assess feedback objectively and create a plan to address it.

2. Overcoming Jealousy

- Acknowledge feelings of jealousy without letting them control you. Use others' achievements as inspiration rather than a benchmark for your success. Remind yourself that everyone’s journey is unique.

3. Managing Self-Doubt

- Combat self-doubt by reflecting on your past achievements and the progress you've made. Keep a journal of your successes and revisit it when you need a confidence boost.

πŸŽ€ implement routines β€” having a routine for everything but having a routine in a few places is good to keep you on track and sets you up for days ahead examples of different routines are reset routines, self-care routines, morning routines, night routines, workout routines and skincare routine β€” examples of a good morning and night routine are below

morning routine

wake up early: set your alarm for the same time every morning, ideally early enough to give yourself plenty of time before beginning your day.

hydrate: begin your day with a glass of water to help your body rehydrate after a night's sleep.

stretch or exercise: to wake up your body and get your blood flowing, perform a short stretching routine or mild exercise.

πŸŽ€ take care of your skin β€” taking care of your skin is an important aspect of self-care and general health. here are some simple actions you may include in your skincare routine: research and determine your skin type and which products and habits will work best for you. there's no need for pricey products! In my experience, it's better to start small and not just waste your money on unnecessary skincare products β€” an example of a minimal skincare routine is below

cleanser

toner

serum (in my opinion this is optional for me though we all have different skin)

moisturizer

sunscreen

πŸŽ€ have an exercise regimen or a means to move your body every day β€” including daily movement in your routine is essential for sustaining overall health and well-being. just go for something that makes you feel good - I prefer walks and pilates. I advise you not to try and do too much; don't overwhelm yourself. It's better to do something you enjoy so you can keep up with it rather than just stop working out completely because the workout style you choose does not aid your body β€” so try out different workout styles and choose this can involve

walking

jogging

cycling

swimming

dance

yoga

strength training routines

πŸŽ€ have a balanced diet β€” a balanced diet is essential for good health and well-being. consuming a range of nutrient-dense meals such as fruits, vegetables, lean meats, whole grains, and healthy fats supplies your body with the necessary vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants. a well-balanced diet aids digestion, boosts energy and improves mood and cognition. overall, eating a well-balanced diet can improve both physical and mental health, resulting in a superior quality of life.

πŸŽ€ implement habits that aid your goals into your days β€” incorporating habits that support your goals into your daily routine is an effective strategy to make progress and achieve success. by incorporating behaviours that directly contribute to your goals into your everyday life, you establish a strong foundation for success and personal growth.

How to Become an It Girl

How To Become An It Girl

β€œElegance is the only beauty that never fades.” - Audrey Hepburn

How To Become An It Girl

Manners and Body Language! Legs are together, arms close to body, head high. Of course, I can’t forget good posture. No matter your body language, always make sure your posture is good. Manners are just as equally important. A simple, excuse me, please, thank you, pardon me, makes such a big difference!

Signature everything! Signature jewelry, perfume, color, bag, hairstyle, EVERYTHING you can think of. Make your own iconic look. When people see you, they know that you own that look. Everything, about it says ME!

Take care of your health and focus on you! Health is wealth!! Take care of your body, mind, soul, heart, skin, hair, nails, teeth, etc. Focusing on yourself will change your life, I PROMISE. I recommend you watch self development videos/youtubers. Just like, TheWizardLiz, Tam Kaur, Simonesquared, Persephonesmind, etc.

4. Look presentable/make a strong first impression! I will never forget when Song Jia first walked in on the island in Singles Inferno. Her hair was done, nails, outfit looked fresh, makeup was done. Not to mention, she walked in with confidence, a smile, good posture and stayed to herself. She carried herself so well. She greeted everyone with a beautiful smile and graceful bow.

β€œHappy girls are the prettiest” - Audrey Hepburn

5. Stay true to yourself! Treat yourself with love. If you’re looking for someone to feel your void, fill it yourself. Learn to love everything about you, even your imperfections. Appreciate the little things in life, like dancing in your room alone, your grwms, picking out your outfit, the trees, sky, laying in your bed, living life. Celebrate your life everyday.

How to be an It Girl (pt 2)

How To Be An It Girl (pt 2)

β€œI don’t care much about what others think. My life revolves around me and only me.” - Song Jia

How To Be An It Girl (pt 2)

Learn the importance of having a private life. One of my favorite pieces of advice I can give is to be private. Never share too much, share little by little. Some of our most popular it girls we still don’t know much about. (Ex: Wonyoung, Marilyn Monroe, Song Jia, etc)

2. Dress nicely and have your own personal style. Dressing nicely 24/7 will change your whole appearance. Make sure your clothes are ironed, clean and colors match. Overall try to make your clothes look neat. Nevertheless, having your own personal style includes your own accessory. That is….your confidence! Therefore find a style that makes you feel confident and good!

3. Expanding your vocabulary! Expanding your vocabulary will not only make sound more efficient but also may help you in the future. Simple words like, wanton, vitriol, pernicious will make a big difference.

4. Proper hygiene care! I swear that proper hygiene care is SOOOO important. I’m gonna be brutally honest, who wants to be next to someone with bad hygiene? I’m genuinely not trying to be rude, just honest. The importance of hygiene is HUGE. Simply brushing your teeth three times a day, showering, exfoliating your skin, oil pulling, putting deodorant on DAILY, changing your underwear DAILY, flossing, etc. Whatever you can do for your hygiene DO IT!

5. Be nice to everyone! This is another HUGE tip, being nice to people. Yes, even your haters/enemies. Do you see your favorite it girls being rude to people, no. Exactly, so always be nice to everyone around you.

Remember, β€œNever pass a mirror without looking at yourself.” - Paris Hilton! Love you, dolls! πŸ’‹

Being Embarrassed is AN ILLUSION!

Being Embarrassed Is AN ILLUSION!

(I don’t own these photos!)

β€œMost importantly, you must always have faith in yourself.” - Elle Woods

Being Embarrassed Is AN ILLUSION!

What does being embarrassed feel like? Well, our first feelings are always insecurity and to overthink. We worry about what others think of us. We worry about getting judged, to even overthinking what we said. I promise you that these people are too focused on their own life. They could even be just like you and overthinking what they said or did.

Why do we get embarrassed? A big part of our population are most likely people pleasers. We all care about what someone thinks about us. Whether it’s your parents, relatives, friends, bf/gf, etc. We also get judged a lot, from the day we came into this life. It’s hard to go from a pure and innocent child to a child scared of being judged. In conclusion, being scared of getting judged is why we get so embarrassed.

The mindset! In order to truly realize being embarrassed is an illusion, you have to walk with this thought. It has to become a life motto, not just that but a rule for yourself. You have to become committed and make sure you’re aware of this. If you get embarrassed and forget it’s an illusion, brush it off.

Validating yourself! One of the main reasons why we get embarrassed or afraid of being judged is, because we love praise. Praise from others that is, so start praising yourself. When you see yourself in the mirror, compliment yourself. Tell yourself the things you want to hear so badly from.

Love you dolls! Thank you dolls for reading 😘

GROWTH MINDSET VS FIXED MINDSET

GROWTH MINDSET VS FIXED MINDSET

The Growth Mindset term was coined by American psychologist Carol Dweck . It is the belief that talent, intelligence and abilities can be cultivated through efforts whereas the Fixed mindset is the total opposite of Growth Mindset. Fixed Mindset is the belief that talent, intelligence and abilities are Fixed and cannot be changed.

A person with Growth Mindset sees efforts as a good thing and an opportunity to improve themselves whereas a person with a Fixed mindset will see hardwork as a bad thing . For example: Let's say Aria is bad at maths , she feels that math isn't her forte so she doesn't even try. She feels that she isn't intelligent enough. She believes that intelligence and math skills are Fixed. Aria has a Fixed mindset. Her mindset limits her. She will never improve or get good grades in maths with that mindset. Now let's say there is another girl Ariel , she believes that she can improve her maths by practice. She believes that if she needs to put effort to improve her math skills , it's not a bad thing and it doesn't mean that she is " dumb " . Ariel has a growth mindset. Growth Mindset is essential for success in any kind of field.

A person with Growth Mindset solve problems & persist despite obstacles. Neuroscientists believe Growth Mindset. They confirm that the brain grows like any other muscle in the body with training . A person with Growth Mindset believes we are in control of our abilities whereas a person with fixed Mindset believes that we aren't in control of our abilities. A person with Growth Mindset are focused on the process of getting better . They appreciate feedback and constructive criticism and use it to improve themselves whereas a person with fixed Mindset don't appreciate constructive criticism , they get defensive and take it personally.

Fixed mindset Growth Mindset

I'm not good at this βž” I can get good at this with effort and practice.

I am not talented enough βž”I can improve with effort with practice .

I don't know how βž” I can learn !

I don't like challenges βž” Overcoming challenges helps me to grow !

I give up βž” I can't succeed if I don't try / I will use a different strategy !

It's too hardβž” With more practice, it will get easier.

I can't do this βž” I can do anything I put my mind to !

Plan A didn't work βž” There is always Plan B

I failed and I embarrassed myself βž”I'm proud that I tried and I will try again !

Everyone is better at it than me βž” I can learn from them !

Questions a person ask with Growth Mindset What can I learn from this ?

what support can I reach out to ?

How will I prepare myself to learn today ?

What will I do to challenge myself today ?

How do I learn ?

🀍Affirmations for growth mindset 🀍

have a role model.

Have A Role Model.

One tip everyone should have, is to have a role model.

A role model is someone you look up to in a certain way for a specific reason, like for their hardworking mindset, grit or skill.

Having a role model is good for multiple reasons, it gives you someone to look up to and admire, which can inspire and motivate you. My role model is Wonyoung!

How do you find a role model?

firstly, find someone who inspires you, it should be someone you find from something your interested in! For me, I found Wonyoung because I liked kpop, and thought the internet movement Wonyoungism. Secondly, find why this person inspires you. For me, I look up to wonyoung because her beauty radiates, confident and elegant presence. Not only that, but she has a kind, hardworking, intelligent and extremely good mindset! Also known as the lucky Vicky mindset. This gave me an outline for who I wanted to be when improving myself!

and lastly, make a manifesto, or a vison board! Yours can b physically or digital. Personally, I used Pinterest, and I also plan on making a notion manifesto. This will motivate and inspire you when looking at it/reading it! Add pictures of your role model, quotes from them, and their aesthetic. β€œYou are you, I am me.” - 🐰

and you don’t just have to have one role model, you can have multiple if you want! Your role model doesn’t have to be a real person either, they can be a fictional character as well.

Here are some ideas for a role model, real and fictional!

Regina George, ell woods, Rory Gilmore, jia song, marilyn monroe, Wonyoung, Maddy Perez or Alexa Demie.

Let me know about a role model you have in to comments!
