Fic Stuff - Tumblr Posts
I had the greatest idea for a plot twist! Everyone would hate me :DD
It's most likely been done already, but still.
So, it's a series of books like Percy Jackson or Harry Potter. And as is typical for this genre - type shonen-anime-like, aka adventure & fantasy - nearing the end of the series, there's a war.
And I make this big deal of the fight between the main character and the final boss. It super dramatic. The readers are thinking - that's it, that's the final battle - this is where the MC saves humanity and then goes on to live a happily ever after.
But then! I kill the main character. Yup. You heard me loud and clear. Or, rather, you read this right. I kill the main character. They're dead. That's it.
The readers are in denial. They're waiting for the uno reverse card, the final moment power up. It's not there. I stop writing from the MC's perspective, and start writing from their friends' perspective, their enemies, just everyone else alive in general. And that continues for multiple chapters until the end of the book.
I explain about the characters' grief over their friend's, their leader's fall. There's a funeral, preparation of defense against the big bad, because, yeah your friend died, but this is still a war, you can't just sit still and do nothing.
And so, the book ends with the good guys preparing for the final stand against the bad guys once they recover from the last fight. And the bad guys at this moment are celebrating.
And the readers are grieving and hating my guts. :)))
Wondering if that truly happened? How could I?? And then, a lot of readers won't go for the next book that would come out of those series, since their favorite character was killed, right?
Matter of fact, if the series was as popular as the ones mentioned at the top of this post, many ppl would have taken it upon themselves to write a fix-it fic. There would be that last minute power up. Sooo many time travel fics will pop out. This type of thing. There will be criticism, YouTube theories coming left and right. It would be amazing. :DD
Months pass by.
The next book comes out and nothing seems to have changed in regards to the MC's status. Readers start thinking, is this really it? Is this actually reality hitting fiction? But then! The second chapter comes!
We're introduced to a new character.
Honestly it's up to you if you want this new character to be a reincarnation of the MC, the person who will bring the MC back to life, the character that will save the MC, train them in secret and then bring them back more traumatized than ever. But yeah. I lied. The MC shall live.
And throughout the time the MC is "gone" there will be tiny crumbs left for the ppl to pick up and get hope from. But only for the more observant readers.
And all of this, because I love fix-it fics and would love to see all the different ways people would try saving their favorite character.

Oldest: Truth or Dare
The inspiration: this is a Zekina fic. shipped them, wanted to try writing them, started the fic in september of 2022
Why it's still a WIP: tbh i wrote the third chapter over a year after i'd posted the second. i guess i just wasn't too in love with the fic or really had many ideas for it
Will you finish: 99% sure i will not
Why or why not: like i said, i'm not too in love with the fic. plus, i don't really ship tina with zeke anymore per say, or with anyone. i just don't wanna put any more effort into it
Second Oldest: Countdown
The inspiration: this fic is a Victorious fic LMAO. started it in december of 2022 when i rewatched the show and started shipping beck and andré
Why it's still a WIP: i wrote all the way up through the climax, and then just stopped because i didn't have any ideas on what to do next. then i fell out of the hyperfixation and forgot about the fic
Will you finish: unfortunately, probably not
Why or why not: like i said, i don't have any ideas for an ending. plus, idk when/if i'll get into the show again. it kinda sucks, because i remember really liking what i'd had written
Third Oldest: all we need to be free
The inspiration: the season 12 Bob's finale Some Like It Bot. the fic is an alternate ending to that ep, like what if tina had actually destroyed the touchscreen. apparently i started this in may of 2023, which is crazy because i feel like it's been in my docs for far longer
Why it's still a WIP: i was stuck on how to continue it. plus, there's a lot of research i have to do for later on in the fic which demotivates me slightly LMAO
Will you finish: i definitely want to!
Why or why not: it's def hard to finish a fic like this when you're not in the middle of hyperfixating on the show. and i'm still stuck on how to continue it. i really like what i have written so far though so i'd love to continue it someday..

1. NLWYG Chapter next - the next chapter of my Peter Parker in Gotham fic. Peter is Dick's kid and he's having a rough time.
2. Captain Marvel, a necromancer? More likely than you'd think. - Part two sorta to a one-shot I did where the league accidently meets Billy at the rock. In this AU Marvel and Billy are somewhat separate entities and when Marvel is transformed, Billy's body goes to the rock to heal while his consciousness chills in marvels body. When they're at the rock together they can be in their own bodies. In part two the league are desperately trynna find out why there was a seemingly dead child who sorta looked like Marvel there.
3. Under the weather, over this bullshit. - Billy is sick and usually that's fine, he'd chill at the rock and not do anything. Unfortunately he had a meeting scheduled and he refused to cancel. Despite feeling awful, cue Captain Marvel, the living lightning, the earth's mightiest mortal, having to sit through a meeting with a cold for the first time ever.
4. Yeah I can help - Based on a prompt fill thar I'll try to find where the league needs a kid to go undercover to sort something out in a juvenile detention centre and Marvel conveniently has a smaller power saving form!
5. He has emotions womp womp - Billy sees something bad on patrol and breaks down after a meeting at the watchtower, everyone is lost and confused as to why he's like this, that's not even the worst thing he's seen?

I have so many Billy WIPs but I've had no motivation to write outside 'Not looking where you're going', which sucks. Maybe I'll get into it again with this :)
It's crazy how I can write the most amazing fics, have insomnia + have all the time in the world + no friends + bored all the time and I still don't have motivation to write fics wtf.

at one point i was planning on writing the twst events
but now im not too sure and it feels like it'd just follow the same storyline (even if dialogue parts might be different here and there)
(im probably better off writing the parts that are different, and summarizing the rest. god.)
(..ive written 8000 words of the halloween event. majority of it is literally the introduction of each dorm. and the farthest ive gotten is 1-19. i regret everything. AND i have to write more because i ended up making yuu an existing character, which i hadnt before bc i didnt know what to do with them. so i skipped the whole beginning part. *headbang*)
so anyway here are names.

Twisted Takes: A Night to Remember (the halloween event. i just wanted to write kalim being scary and showing a bit of his not happy-go-lucky self and surprising everyone, honestly.)
miraculously, though, no one remembers this moment (or if they do they dont pay it any mind. lol. or maybe ill just take it as events running off in an alternate timeline somewhere anyway since they dont play a big part) (..also. i feel like i should say. he's both in the horse club [for self-explanatory reasons] and the pop music club. [also dazzled by lilia's screaming- sorry singing])
Twisted Takes: Endless Fantasy (endless halloween. i think i got so lost trying to understand what was going on in this event. probably wont write them. ...but they got possessed...)

⋆ Jack was concerned about you, having grown worried throughout the day. There was just something off about your behavior that didn't sit right with him, subtle things he took note of. How you've grown quiet, too quiet, giving simple answers or non verbal responses when talking with someone. How your smile seems forced, not reaching your eyes, strained and hard to keep. How you've been avoiding others, acting more distant, the thought making his chest ache.
⋆ He approaches you when you're at home, knocking at your door. He knew it would be best to talk about this in private, waiting until you were sitting comfortably before bringing it up.
"What's wrong?" he asks, straight to the point. He notices how you tense at his question, clearly not in the right mindset to talk. He watches you struggle for a second before telling you it's alright, and that he'll be here to listen when you're ready.
⋆ You looked down as you felt tears coming, curling in on yourself as you wrapped your arms around you. It was clear that you needed some comfort, if not verbally, then physically, an idea coming to his mind. He looked away for a moment, rubbing the back of his neck at the thought of what he was about to do. He trusted you though, and knew that if it were anyone else, he wouldn't be doing this, using his unique magic to shift to his wolf form.
⋆ Lost in your thoughts, you didn't even notice Jack transform, eyes widening as he rests his head in your lap. You look beside you to find him laying on the couch, his body taking up the whole space. He stares up at you for a moment as if silently giving you permission, shutting his eyes as he relaxes in your lap. You stare for a moment before bending down, wrapping your arms around him as you rest your face in his fur.
⋆ You let your tears fall as you hold him, finding comfort in his warmth. You felt so loved, so trusted, knowing how big this gesture was. When your tears eventually dried, you continued to hold him, making yourself more comfortable on the couch.
"Thank you, Jack" you mumble out, his tail gently wagging in response ♡
