Nex Benedict was a indigenous trans nonbinary teenager. Their head was beaten against the floor in a bathroom stall. Less than 24 hours later, they died, most likely from undiagnosed head trauma. Conservatives say they want to, "protect the children", where was the protection for Nex? That's the thing. There wasn't any. Nex died. And many more trans, queer, and nonbinary minors will if we don't step up and do something. What happened to Nex has and will happen to queer folk around the globe. Say their name.
Edit: I didn't expect this to get much attention, but thank you everyone. What alot of people, "forget" to mention was that Nex was two spirited, which means they were indigenous. The fact that I wouldn't have heard about this if I didn't have Tumblr is absolutely revolting. News needs to be covering this. But what are Republicans doing? Sucking their thumbs and crying about how, "trans people shouldn't be able to piss". What are Democrats doing? Twiddling their thumbs and groveling to an old geezer that somehow falls up the stairs and supports I$r3@l. It's disgusting and America needs to do better.

I'm @natsueyama/@moss-sue! you may or may not have noticed by now that i have deactivated all my accounts and that's because a family member of mine had found my account and is being extremely hateful towards me and my sexuality. they stalked me through this alternative account i had on Facebook and obsessively searched for me on all platforms which lead them here. I had delete them out of my own personal safety but i can assure you that as of this moment I'm okay. right now i just want to let all my followers and mutuals know! so spread the word i guess?

This is not about LGBTQ+ rights! This is about Palestinian Genocide! I understand that LGBTQ+ rights are just as important, but there are hundreds of people dying in Palestine right now! This is about how we failed as a humanity and trying to fix it! No one is mentioning the thousands that were slaughtered in Palestine for existing! How about instead of wasting your time by typing out these useless comments, you think about the children, the mothers, the fathers, the siblings, and the family that are dying!
the queers clearly have better hearts than you do! They have more empathy! They're more forgiving than you ever will! If you think these "anti drag" pushes aren't going to be used against trans people for just existing in public, you really really need to read up on the vice laws which caused Stonewall.
If you think Stonewall was only trans women and transmascs/butches/trans men weren't arrested during the leadup to the riot, you need to read up on who was there, who was arrested, and why.
They are coming for all of us. Your supposed respectability will not save you. We will survive this if we stick together, and only if.
A small rant
I hate how right-wingers try to excuse spreading hateful or ignorant ideas as "just a joke" or "I'm just asking questions". Like they somehow think that jokes or questions cannot be rhetorical.
It's like some people think that ideas just don't affect the real world in any tangible form. Like they are just having a purely theoretical conversation that effects nobody at all.
People on the right need to realize that rhetoric is very capable of inspiring violence. Saying shit like "trans people are groomers" is the kind of shit that gets trans people killed.
And public figures who advocate hateful rhetoric will always try to distance themselves from the consequences of their words, saying shit like "I never said I condone violence", even when violence is the natural logical conclusion of their words. Yall cannot act like implying that Jews run the world is not a call to action to commit violence against them, that is pure bullshit.
