Still in Love

"I love you so. But our love story must end, you know. I'm going to chase my dreams afar, and I hope you'll love me from afar."

I never thought I'd say goodbye

To the love of my life, to the one who made me fly

I remember the first time I saw you

Your smile was like the sun

You lit up my world

And my heart began to run

We were the perfect pair

Love burned bright like a morning flare

But life had plans, our dreams were different

And so our paths diverged

We parted ways with hearts that ached and surged

How could we let our dreams take wing?

I'm still in love

I can't deny

But time has passed, and I've grown wiser

I've chased my dreams, I've reached for stars

I've become a doctor, you've started your own business

We've both achieved our dreams

We've both found our niches

But through it all, in my heart, you're always there

I know I've changed

But so have you

And I'm wondering, what's meant to be true?

We tried to ignore our differences

But they eventually came to a head

I couldn't give up on my dreams

And you couldn't leave your home

Our paths did stray

And my heart was lost that day

I thought we'd be together

But life had other plans

And now I'm left with a shattered heart

I still miss you so

But I know that we had to let go

We've both grown and matured

We've learned from our past

And now I wish we could forever last

I know that we were young

And still learning to love

But I can never forget you

You were my first true love

I've learned to compromise, to give and take

To put my dreams on hold

For love's sweet sake

I know that we're not the same as before

But I believe in us, I believe in more

And now I'm ready to give our love another chance

I know that we'll face challenges along the way

But together, we can overcome them, come what may

We're stronger now, more wise, more in love

And I know that this time, our love will be enough

Baby, I love you more than words can say

And I hope that you'll give me another chance, come what may

I'm ready to love you like I never knew

I believe in us

New Year's Eve

The clock strikes midnight

and the world celebrates

Fireworks fill the sky

and laughter rings out.

But for me

the night is cold and lonely

I watch the festivities from afar

my heart aching with longing.

You are with your new lover

smiling and laughing.

I am alone

curled up in the darkness.

I know that I should be happy for you

but I can't help but feel sad

I miss you

and I wish that we were together.

I close my eyes and dream

of a better day

A day when we are together again

and the world is full of joy.

Drenched in Despair

I thought we were meant to be.

But I was wrong.
