“Everything’s normal. Human, unpowered normal. Our relationship went back in time, we both kind of ignored that I'm a telepath, that we’re just two normal people in a normal relationship. We’re happy."

You zone back into the world, hearing your work-assigned therapist clear his throat.
“ Even if that's the case your supervisors have started to take notice of how you've changed. Your paperwork is hard to understand and when speculating on a case you jump to wild conclusions that hurt the case. You're less social than before and you've become very panicked by the smallest things. You've also refused to use your powers. These actions have been recorded by D.U.M.P for the past two months. It's clear to me that your recent mood isn't the cause of missed medication but something else.”
Your breathing rises, you try to steady it, hide that what he's saying bothers you, your thoughts are so jumbled you can't make much out other than panic.
“ And from what you've told me I think the cause is the absence of using your power. Up until 2 months ago, you were in constant use of your power. And from what I understand that was the result of your mother's abuse-”
“She didn't abuse me!”

When you applied this belief to your relationship you learned how this belief hurt others, so you tried to stop, cold turkey. This has caused you to become extremely anxious and paranoid. As your therapist, I think you do need to become comfortable in your own head, comfortable not constantly reading people's minds. I would also suggest you talk with your partner, I think couples therapy would benefit your relationship. Oh, it appears that our time-”
You were out of the room before he could say goodbye. You rushed to collect your stuff. You always had therapy right after work so you could leave right after. You rush to the parking garage.

Your trance loosens when you hear a wooden crate fall on the floor, wiping your head around to see your boyfriend quickly trying to get over the fallen boxes. He's rushing to you.

You fall into his arms when he gets close enough, your arms wrap around his squeezing him as you cry into his chest, repeating his name.

“I thought you were dead. That, someone, broke in, and killed you, and- and I couldn't- I- you were dead.”
“What, babe, what made you think that!? Were you threatened? What happened?”
Geordi tries to look for any sign you were harmed. the movement is sudden, startling you into raising your voice, trying to let out your frustration, trying to shut the voices up.
“I Don't Know! I just - they- I just- nowhere is safe- I can- it hurts! I don't want to hear it anymore- it hurt so much i- I can't stand it- i- please- please help!”
“Okay- okay cutie, why do I do, what do you need?”
“I don't- I don't know-maybe-no I can't -i - but it hurts- he hates it-but it hurts. I-can I? In your head?”
The worry that stained his face started to blend with surprise.
“Yes, yes, go ahead.”
You look into his eyes wanting so hard to just jump into his head, to leave your thoughts behind, but you can't.

You start to slide down Geordi falls you down, gently holding you, not controlling you just supporting you. You cry harder.
“Ok- ok cutie, I've got you.”
“I just- I don't - I'm so lost- I can't- i- fuck!”
“Shh, it's ok, love- I'm here ok? You don't need to talk. I- you can tell me everything when you- when your calm down and you're ready.”
Geordi gently places his hands on either side of your face, lightly guiding your face to his. You can see how his eyes water and the way his lip quivers.

You try to look away but Geordi prevents that.
“Cutie, don't go there. I don't- I don't know what you thinking but- but don't. Stay here, I've got you. Okay”
You nod as tears sting your cheek hot. Geordi moves his hands, engulfing you in a hug. His arms on your back, moving up and down. You focus on it, the feeling, the sound, focus on Geordi.
He's here.

Your eyes drift closed, exhausted, you let sleep take over, finally feeling safe enough to be vulnerable.
As a person who struggles with this specific intrusive thought to the point of having panic attacks, I needed this.

Chapter 1.2 - Bad Dreams Are for the Birds

[POV: MIKO]
The Art History department has two other TAs, but as far as Miko’s concerned, they’re both bullshit.

They haven’t proven themselves incompetent yet, but it's only a matter of time before someone drops the ball, leaving Miko to pick it up. It’s how it always goes down, which is why, despite feeling like absolute crap, she’s organizing the art supply room by herself.
Next week, the undergrads will start working on pieces for their first critical review. A lot of them are talented, but they’re also inexperienced. And as silly as it seems, having their supplies clearly labeled with helpful hints will be a gift from the Watcher when some professor is picking apart their work and demanding they make quick changes.
You mean when some professor was picking apart your work because you’re incompetent.


It takes everything to ignore the nasty voice in her head and her burning need to pee. It’s just stress, anyway. She slept like shit—horrifying dreams kept her up half the night—and she still needed to get here early to finish up before the other TAs arrived.
Her nightmares made no sense. Miko is only 24; she shouldn’t be worried about running out of time. But the clock in her dreams filled her with terror, and she had the strangest sense that she never used to worry about time at all.
In fact, she used to wield it.
It’s the kind of bonkers thought she doesn’t allow herself to have anymore.

Usually, she was fine once she was on campus. It was where she could pretend she didn’t live in a tiny clapboard house in a Newcrest neighborhood the mayor swore would gentrify but hadn’t changed much since Miko was a kid.
Not that gentrification was good. By the time they cleaned up the drunks in the park and picked up the trash, the cost of housing would be too high, and Miko and her grandmother would have to find somewhere else to live.
And your mother? Did you forget about her, or are you just extra delusional today?

Miko doubles over at the thought. The worst part is that she knows it's her. She’s being mean to herself and has no idea how to stop it.

Maybe it’s not the negative voice, you idiot. Maybe you really do just have to pee.
Son of a bitch. That’s probably right. Ignoring the implications of arguing with herself, Miko hauls ass up two flights of stairs until she’s on the second floor of the Commons.

“Watcher, give me strength,” she prays when she shuts the stall door. The Ojos aren’t religious, but spending primary and secondary school under the watch of cranky nuns gave her the habit.
Her prayers must be getting misdirected, though. While she’s hovering over the toilet seat, fighting for her life, the other two Art History TAs walk into the bathroom and start gossiping.
“I just don’t understand why she would organize the closet when we already had a plan to work on it this morning,” Emmett says.
“Because she’s a bitch,” Hande laughs, “Seriously. You can’t take it personally. Some sims just don’t know how to act.”

“I mean, but what’s the point?” Emmett continues. “We’re all graduating. Maybe someone will write you a good recommendation for the Royal Arts Fellowship if you go above and beyond. But you can do that without screwing everyone else over.”
“Some sims are unhappy. Like it's a trait,” Hande assures him, “Just ignore her.”

Miko waits until she hears them leave before she limps out of the bathroom stall, bladder still burning and her cheeks joining in on the party. The old nuns were right: The Watcher was a merciless god, and Miko was clearly on her shit list.

I assure you that your F/O doesn’t care if this is the 9,999th time you come to them, they'll always be there because you make their life brighter just by being. Try to exist— right here, right now— for a minute or two and whittle those voices away to the best of your ability (and don’t worry if the best you can do is “nothing”). Your F/O can see how hard you’re trying, but they aren’t with you because they think you can move mountains; they yearn to share their life with you because you’re you. Dear reader, there is simply no other reason.
Your F/O won’t think twice about your trauma, whether it comes from a horror-like past or because you stared passive-aggressively at a dog the other day and feel guilty about it. They just know it affects you and they won’t hesitate to comfort (and spoil) you like there’s no tomorrow. Your F/O doesn’t care if you feel like you’re going through Hell everyday and “whine about it too much” or are “too clingy”, they’re your safe space. They’re perfectly content knowing that when you falter, they’ll be there to catch their beloved and give you a place to rest your head, if only for a minute.
Your F/O sees you in a way you can’t imagine. They accept every magnificent part of you that you call a flaw, thanking whatever celestial force they believe in that they have the pleasure of knowing you. Those Voices inside your head are lying, and just the idea of them being right is something your F/O could never fathom, but they’ll more than happily rush to prove to you how wrong the Voices are.
Your F/O has no wish to stop sweeping those incorrect thoughts away, so please let them. They full-heartedly know they’re doing important work.

You had exposed yourself to your F/O. You showed them your raw, emotional, troubled self… but they were still here. Something in your mind doesn’t fit right, panic rising as it washes over the euphoria you had experienced alongside your beloved under their tender care.
Because they were there.
Why hadn’t your F/O left? Why had they stayed so long? So many had abandoned you by this point, why don’t they? Is there an endgame to this? You are a freak, a horror, a traumatized lump of human flesh… You’ll poison them… Why can’t they just see that and leave already? (Not to mention the other side of your raging mind: the one on its knees, the one that grovels and begs and dehumanizes itself into a living joke just to have another person give you a second of attention…)
Deep down, you know why the thoughts are there.
You are expecting abandonment.
Every moment your F/O welcomes you into their warm embrace oh-so cruelly, you know you’re falling further and further for them. But you can’t allow yourself to do that.
You are expecting abandonment.
So much so that you make a fool of yourself and show your most vulnerable sides to them and hope it wards your F/O off… because it’s easier to say that they left because of your actions than to wait a lifetime for them only to realize their absence is the only answer you’ll ever get.

“Love?”
You dry your tears against your shirt as discreetly as possible, red eyes darting to and fro— anywhere away from your F/O’s. “…Yeah?” You cringe at the cracks in your own voice, How dare you not be able to hide this better? How dare you burden them?
Your F/O leans closer just the tiniest bit. “Are you feeling okay?”
“I’m fine,” you say, lips pressed tight.
“C’mon, S/I, you’re underestimating me if you think I can’t notice when you’re upset.” They offer a reassuring smile, although it wavers as your guilty lack of response hangs in the still air. “… Just… I won’t force you, okay? But I know you aren’t feeling well, and that it’s not healthy to keep it all in like this.”
Your voice doesn’t disrupt the silence. A single syllable could break down the dam holding back your sobs, God, you’re a crybaby. You’re weak, pathetic.
“Hey, love, could you please look at me?”
Your line of sight wavers, yet it’s your F/O’s gentle hold and their warm gaze that attracts your own like a magnet’s fated pull.
“There you are,” they utter. “You never were, never are, and never will be a burden, S/I, I love you just as you are. This isn’t a punishment and I will never use it against you. I just want to make sure you’re alright… Like all of those times you did the same to me, ok?”
As calm and tender as they are, there are still signs of breakage in your F/O’s voice. They want to banish — perhaps even worse — whoever taught you those self-damaging beliefs in the first place, but your health comes first. When you’re tangled up in barbs of false promises and toxic love, all your F/O wishes to do is untangle you with a touch of silk and show you what warmth is like. They want to chase those swarms of bad thoughts away and kiss your forehead at night when they’re sure the only thing in your mind is soft dreams of carelessness when you finally let yourself feel safe in their arms.
Some time after their reassurances, your walls break— perhaps for the first time in front of them. Maybe it’s loud and messy whilst your F/O gathers you in their arms, or maybe your tears are silent until you succumb and press yourself against their chest.
And by the end?
“Can I ask you… something…?” You hesitate, doubt still plaguing that one place in your mind.
Your F/O places a kiss against your temple. “Always, love.”
“I mean…” Your gaze wanders off. “It’s a bit unnecessary, maybe even childish…”
“As long as it’s you? As long as you think it’s important and it matters to making you feel safe? It’ll never be unnecessary.”
“… Could you promise…?”
They nod and a small, wonderful smile graces their features. “You don’t ever have to worry about me leaving, S/I. I promise that I’ll always be here for you, that you’ll always be worth waiting for.”
TW: intrusive violent thoughts, explicit violence, self-loathing, thoughts of self-harm
Xiao has intrusive thoughts. They're always about it harming others, specially people it cares about. It might have thoughts about snapping Ganyu's neck, stabbing Zhongli in the back and more like that. It's very common for them to come before karmic pain, but it's not exclusive for this moments.
Whenever Xiao has this thoughts, they hurt and make it feel guilty and have even more self-loathing. Many times, it considered hurting itself as a kind of "punishment" for having these thoughts.
When Zhongli adopted Qiqi and it started interacting more with her, the thoughts began to come, with thing like tearing her body apart. That made its self-loathing get worsened and it told Ganyu about the thoughts, for it thought that this was a sign that it was a monster.
Then, Ganyu told it that she, too, has intrusive thoughts, specially about harming herself and how distressful they are to her. She tells Xiao that it's okay and that this doesn't make it a bad person. She tells Xiao that if it wants to, they can tell to Zhongli or someone else. It says that it wants to keep it between just the two of them for a while. She understads.
This made me cry. I struggled for such a long time with those last year and I felt like a horrible person, and now I've finally understood that only my actions can be good or bad and that my thoughts don't define me or who I truly am or what I truly want. Thank you for reminding me of this.

Day vent, tw
So after I dragged myself out of bed, walked to my bus stop in the freezing cold, I could only withstand suffering for only 2 class periods. The day started out fine, I was fine then at the end of 2nd period it all just hit me all at once. I felt so sick I went to the nurse because I felt like I was going to throw up. I couldn't think straight. So I told the nurse I felt sick and left school. I was able to dismiss myself since my mom didn't answer my 3 phone calls.
I didn't know where to go. I couldn't go home because my mom would lecture me and know that I'm getting bad again. So I went to the library. And as I'm walking I hear the voice In the back of my head tell me that I'm so fucking stupid for leaving school like the failure I am. Then I realized why I had to leave. If I didn't leave I swear at that moment they were going to find my wrist slit in the girl bathroom. So I'm glad I left or I would have been dead by now or worse in the hospital for failing that as well. Not everyday is this bad but when It is I just don't have the strength to handle intrusive/suicidal thoughts.
My last breath will be a sigh of relief.

Teaching children thinking bad thoughts about someone is the same thing as murdering that person is fucked up.
Thought crime doesn’t exist. No one has ever been harmed or killed by someone thinking negative thoughts about them.
You know what has harmed people though? Teaching them they are evil for things they can’t control. Especially those who have intrusive thoughts.
Here’s for everyone who has been taught their thoughts make them evil.

Okay so, as you guys can see this is my version of choo choo charles and I have been thinking of Choo choo Charles and decided to to make him along with some Ocs that I'm gonna put in later on.

I have horrible intrusive thoughts and they, y'know, really effect me, but recently I've started responding to them with something like "wow, yeah, that would be crazy" and it genuinely works so well?? Like, treating them like a child telling me a hypothetical they just thought up is genuinely doing wonders in making dealing with them easier.
