Coffee (and Love) in the Library
Stephanie Brown had no idea who those boys were, but she has had enough.
Well actually, that’s a lie.
She knew who they were, everyone did. The Wayne boys, with their black-as-night hair, and cobalt blue eyes.
Who are currently playing the fucking penis game in the goddamn library.
Finals were coming up next week, study rooms all taken up, and she swears, if those boys don’t shut up within five minutes, last name be damned, she will come over and end that game.
By removing said genitalia of course.
A low yell reached her ears and she stiffened, missing the ‘r’ key on her crappy laptop.
They haven’t reached above a low yell, something she’ll change in-
Another strangled yell.
That’s it. Five minutes were up, and they had their chance.
She slammed the chair back and stormed over to the idiots ruining her studying session.
She locked onto her target, the close on to her, and aimed.
And strangled scream echoed across the room, and heads snapped over, glaring.
No one liked being interrupted.
Being part of the slums taught her one thing, and that was how to hit the royal jewels, and how to hit them hard.
“There.” She said tersely, eyes glaring. “Now if you haven’t noticed yet, some of us are studying for finals. We can’t all have a rich parent so if some of us want to be accepted into a good college to study for a doctor, we have to do well on our finals.” Stephanie was seeing red at this point.
“I haven’t had food or drinks in eight hours, I’m surviving off of four hours of sleep and I’m out of coffee, tea can suck my ass.” One of them snorted, and Steph would slap him if she wasn’t on a roll.
“So, I swear to God if you don’t shut up, we’ll start this game all over and I will end it.”
She stormed back to her seat, and started typing again, slamming down on the keys. In her fury, it had taken her four tries to type a word.
Stupid morons.
Steph flinched when a steaming cup of coffee was pushed under her nose.
“You know,” Timothy fucking Drake said as he slid in the chair across from her, “what you did there, that wasn’t very nice.”
“Sue me.” She intoned as she turns her attention back over to her practice test. His lips curled upward.
“Well, are you going to drink your coffee?” He asked, gesturing at the steaming cup.
Steph eyed the cup for a minute before shrugging. Screw it, coffee was coffee. She’ll deal with it later, if it turned out to be poisoned.
“So, a doctor. I have to say, I didn’t have you pegged down as one, and my guesses are usually correct.” Tim’s eyes pierced into her.
“Yeah. Just what I want to do.” Stephanie turned her eyes back to the screen, slightly refreshed.
“Well Stephanie, you are contradicting all of my assumptions about you. It’s… interesting.”
Her lips involuntarily pointed up as she sipped her coffee.
It only occurred to her after he left that she never told him her name.
The next day, she almost couldn’t get to the front door because of the mysterious delivery of coffee in her living room.
Once upon a time I considered studying for finals, then I realized that the Internet still exists.
Life Tip #3
stressing out for finals? don’t study at all and don’t eat or sleep so when it comes to the time for finals, you can pass by passing out
Life Tip #14
stay alive during finals week by imagining your teachers falling into your demonic void that curses them to bad luck for just long enough to not have a fun New Year’s Eve if they don’t give you a good grade
Life Tip #51
with dooms week nearing every student, it becomes more and more important to recommend ways of procrastinating that make it f e e l like you’re doing something productive!
watch award-winning documentaries eith oscars that you can vaguely connect to your final essay even though the two topics are completely unrelated and you are trying to convince your teacher you’re educated through abstraction of the fifth dimension
make a plan to study!! and a plan to make your plan!! and then a plan with friends to study!! and then not actually end up studying because none of your friends replied on the groupchat
learn to cook a new recipe! even if you don’t pass your exam, at least you can eat your green bean casserole that you added extra virgin olive oil to and cry!!
find a sugar daddy! since you’re going to inevitably fail, it makes sense to set up a financial plan for the future anyway.
pack your bags and journey off on a romantic and dramatized pursuit of happiness through an obscure town with 1000 residents or less and then write a best-selling novel about it when you’re done, mocking a capitalistic and classist society!!
build a castle out of raisins, become a meme sensation, wind up on ellen, and be gifted with a lifetime supply of raisins that aid you in your quest for power
handwrite every word in your textbook onto a canvas and pass it off a surrealism to a doubtful art collector
create a youtube channel dedicated to filming dogs walking and call it stress relief
Life Tip #52
how to pass your finals:
get off tumblr first, dipshit

this is the only way i’m gonna pass (i showed this to my friends and they both instantly picked up their pencils and got to work)
Honestly with these finals coming up -_-
when something stressful comes up

Two weeks left in the semester and I feel like it's JUST starting to get good, ahhh
This is the first time in quite a while where I felt like I actually ENJOYED studying. It sucks because learning has always been something I'm super passionate about. I used to LOVE studying. But, better late than never I guess.
A survival guide for finals week
It's coming up unfortunately and it's probably the most stressful week you'll have in the semester and for some reason, every time it comes around it seems like the universe has it out for you. Here are some tips that have helped me and hopefully can help you!!! Feel free to add on!
Carry water with you everywhere. Nervous? Drink. Tired? Drink. Angry? Drink. Get hydrated and drink lots of water.
Don't cram. Get GOOD sleep. No all-nighters. Please
Start studying now. When the week comes, you'll be too stressed to actually study effectively
Take walks. When you get stressed and overwhelmed, take a walk! Get out of your room and head and just walk until you feel better (please be safe though)
Caffeine
Eat something healthy. Not everything has to be healthy. But some foods like salmon, broccoli, whatever. Nourish your body and it'll nourish you back
Save some money so you can take the week off.
Have a relaxing outlet that doesn't take energy. Maybe a cozy game? Latte art?
Play with some animals. This is scientifically proven to reduce stress btw so it's for health reasons
Your finals don't always happen when your classes happen so make sure you triple check dates and times
Feel some sunshine
Get a good Playlist that makes you happy
Try some yoga or something to distract yourself when you wanna cry
Learn how to harvest salt from your tears
If it's a cumulative final, go through past exams and quizzes and stuff. Those tend to cover the "important" material and will likely show up
Make cute study sheets! I know if my notes look boring I CAN'T study
Naps! Bonus if they're with animals
Try to get a study group together and study and chill
Believe in yourself! You got this!!!! You're better than you think and I have full faith in you and your abilities!
If you love the class, study because you love it!
If you hate the class, study so you never have to see that fucking teacher and listen to that stupid class ever again in your entire life.
Make yourself happy, cute drinks and happy, cute meals
Celebrate at the end. Please. You deserve it
Don't let it consume your every waking moment. It's just a test. Just another test
Tell yourself how amazing you are. You're doing something not everyone even gets the chance to. That's super awesome!!!
Eat some cake
Gum and crunchy veggies are both great stress busters

Missing posters to commemorate a family friend's house from childhood. We lost contact with each other when my family moved away, so this is more out of my own sense of childhood nostalgia than anything concrete.
This was my final for my research class, which required a site-specific element to the piece! These were really fun but kind of terrifying to make? It was still really interesting to execute though! I'm glad I went through with it :]

Documentation from my final critique in drawing!
I loved this class and everyone in it, critique was great and everyone's work was stunning :]

Projected animation project from my second semester finals at SAIC! This was a really fun experiment in multimedia and I would love to do more with it in the future 👀
Acing Your Finals: Tips and Tricks to Succeed in School
Shaina Tranquilino
January 25, 2024

It's that time of the year again – finals season! As students, we all experience a mixture of stress and excitement during this period. However, with proper planning and effective strategies, you can conquer your exams with confidence. In this blog post, we will share some valuable tips and tricks to help you get through your finals successfully.
1. Start early and create a study schedule: Procrastination is an enemy you must defeat when it comes to preparing for finals. Starting early allows you to cover material thoroughly without cramming. Create a realistic study schedule that allocates specific times for each subject or topic, ensuring you have ample time to revise before the exam day.
2. Organize your study space: A cluttered desk equals a cluttered mind. Find a quiet, well-lit area where you can focus solely on your studies. Keep all necessary materials like textbooks, notebooks, and stationery within reach so that you don't waste precious studying time searching for them.
3. Use active learning techniques: Instead of passively reading through notes or textbooks, engage in active learning techniques such as summarizing information in your own words, teaching concepts to others (or even imaginary friends!), creating flashcards, or practicing problem-solving exercises. Active learning enhances understanding and retention of knowledge.
4. Prioritize challenging subjects/topics: Identify the subjects or topics that pose significant challenges for you and allocate more study time accordingly. Tackling difficult areas first ensures that you have enough energy and concentration to grasp complex concepts fully.
5. Collaborate with classmates: Forming study groups with classmates can be highly beneficial as it promotes discussion, aids in clarifying doubts, and provides different perspectives on the subject matter. Explaining concepts to others also reinforces your understanding of the material.
6. Take regular breaks: Studying continuously without taking breaks can lead to burnout and reduced productivity. Divide your study sessions into manageable chunks of time, followed by short breaks to relax and recharge. Incorporate activities like stretching or going for a walk to refresh your mind.
7. Practice past exams or sample questions: Familiarize yourself with the format and style of previous exams or sample questions relevant to your subjects. This practice helps you understand the exam's structure, identify common patterns, and gain confidence in tackling similar questions during the actual test.
8. Get sufficient sleep and maintain a healthy lifestyle: Pulling all-nighters might seem tempting, but it ultimately hampers cognitive function and retention. Aim for at least 7-8 hours of quality sleep each night to enhance memory consolidation and concentration levels. Additionally, maintaining a balanced diet, staying hydrated, and engaging in physical activity contribute to overall well-being during this stressful period.
9. Seek for help when needed: Don't hesitate to reach out to teachers, tutors, or classmates if you encounter difficulties while studying. Asking for clarification or discussing challenging concepts can provide valuable insights and help clear any confusion.
10. Stay positive and manage stress: Maintaining a positive mindset is crucial throughout finals season. Avoid negative self-talk or comparisons with others' progress – focus on your own growth instead. Take regular breaks for relaxation activities such as meditation, deep breathing exercises, or pursuing hobbies that bring joy.
The path to success during finals lies in effective planning, diligent effort, and adopting healthy study habits. By following these tips and tricks, you'll be better equipped to tackle your exams confidently while minimizing stress levels along the way. Remember that preparation is key – stay focused, keep calm, and give it your best shot! Good luck!

So a few weeks ago we were learning about oxymorons and My English Teacher said “ I feel like being a gracious dictator today.” I decided to quote him on that so I wrote it on the board. Time, Date, and everything. Fast forward to finals, this is what he put for the oxymoron example.

“Deified Self”
Woot! It’s my drawing final, and, in my personal opinion, the best self portrait I’ve ever done! It feels good to be happy about a piece!
