Weekly Study Reflections (June 9-15) ๐ŸŒฟ๐Ÿง ๐Ÿค

๐ŸŽฏ- Weekly goal: be prepared for the Economics exam by at least 80% -> asses through a practice test/explaining everything Iโ€™ve learned while making mindmaps

๐Ÿ’Œ - I think I get the hang of it now. Treating burnout is not enough, you need to prevent it.

Weekly Study Reflections (June 9-15)

- - - ๐ŸŒฟ- - -

I didnโ€™t use duration-based goals anymore

I focused on the depth of the focus instead

I stopped when I had learned/done enough (at the end of a topic/after completing some quizzes, etc.) or was tired

I rewarded myself with less brain-stimulating activities (journaling, walking, stretching, listening to soft music)

I still aimed to revise 4 chapters a day, but itโ€™s alright if I canโ€™t

I set a large window of time and started when I was ready. I made sure I was physically and mentally ready by taking care of my nutrition and physical movements, and applying cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) to myself

On burnout:

I figured that studying endlessly without being sure my effort is sufficient to achieve my goals leads to burnout. Only relying on motivation also leads to burnout

Changing the study system helped me unchain motivations with studying, so I can keep studying without having to rely on it

My root of excessive (and unstrategic) studying is the fear of failure and not having enough time to be fully prepared for it

I changed my mindset that I should be grateful for the time I have to prepare for my exams and do the best I can (in a healthy manner)

If I use the best of my time, it should be enough to help me pass the exams

If I donโ€™t get the best result, thatโ€™s okay. The world doesnโ€™t end. At least I learned something from it and could improve next time. (I shouldnโ€™t let myself loose too much, though!)

I still struggled to sleep before 12, but I woke up earlier these days.ย

My next goal is to go to sleep earlier, no matter what

This semester is over!!

I did my last exam today! I only enrolled in four classes this semester. But because I procrastinated a lot (and had other things going on in life), I ended up only studying a month before exams. So, it was still pretty hard for me. But hey, I'm glad I got through it :)

P.S. Donโ€™t do the same, folks!

Hai and best of wishes for the finals you're gonna do great and I too am going through my final exams so๐Ÿค๐Ÿผโœ good luck to both of us

Iโ€™m so not ready for finals at all, but Iโ€™m trying to fake it till I make it. Whatever happens, happens. Iโ€™m sure youโ€™ll do outstanding on your finals if you havenโ€™t already done them. Good luck, and also good luck to anyone else who has their finals too.

I canโ€™t wait for summer to start so I can actually draw more often.

Acing Your Finals: Tips And Tricks To Succeed In School

It's that time of the year again โ€“ finals season! As students, we all experience a mixture of stress and excitement during this period. However, with proper planning and effective strategies, you can conquer your exams with confidence. In this blog post, we will share some valuable tips and tricks to help you get through your finals successfully.

1. Start early and create a study schedule: Procrastination is an enemy you must defeat when it comes to preparing for finals. Starting early allows you to cover material thoroughly without cramming. Create a realistic study schedule that allocates specific times for each subject or topic, ensuring you have ample time to revise before the exam day.

2. Organize your study space: A cluttered desk equals a cluttered mind. Find a quiet, well-lit area where you can focus solely on your studies. Keep all necessary materials like textbooks, notebooks, and stationery within reach so that you don't waste precious studying time searching for them.

3. Use active learning techniques: Instead of passively reading through notes or textbooks, engage in active learning techniques such as summarizing information in your own words, teaching concepts to others (or even imaginary friends!), creating flashcards, or practicing problem-solving exercises. Active learning enhances understanding and retention of knowledge.

4. Prioritize challenging subjects/topics: Identify the subjects or topics that pose significant challenges for you and allocate more study time accordingly. Tackling difficult areas first ensures that you have enough energy and concentration to grasp complex concepts fully.

5. Collaborate with classmates: Forming study groups with classmates can be highly beneficial as it promotes discussion, aids in clarifying doubts, and provides different perspectives on the subject matter. Explaining concepts to others also reinforces your understanding of the material.

6. Take regular breaks: Studying continuously without taking breaks can lead to burnout and reduced productivity. Divide your study sessions into manageable chunks of time, followed by short breaks to relax and recharge. Incorporate activities like stretching or going for a walk to refresh your mind.

7. Practice past exams or sample questions: Familiarize yourself with the format and style of previous exams or sample questions relevant to your subjects. This practice helps you understand the exam's structure, identify common patterns, and gain confidence in tackling similar questions during the actual test.

8. Get sufficient sleep and maintain a healthy lifestyle: Pulling all-nighters might seem tempting, but it ultimately hampers cognitive function and retention. Aim for at least 7-8 hours of quality sleep each night to enhance memory consolidation and concentration levels. Additionally, maintaining a balanced diet, staying hydrated, and engaging in physical activity contribute to overall well-being during this stressful period.

9. Seek for help when needed: Don't hesitate to reach out to teachers, tutors, or classmates if you encounter difficulties while studying. Asking for clarification or discussing challenging concepts can provide valuable insights and help clear any confusion.

10. Stay positive and manage stress: Maintaining a positive mindset is crucial throughout finals season. Avoid negative self-talk or comparisons with others' progress โ€“ focus on your own growth instead. Take regular breaks for relaxation activities such as meditation, deep breathing exercises, or pursuing hobbies that bring joy.

The path to success during finals lies in effective planning, diligent effort, and adopting healthy study habits. By following these tips and tricks, you'll be better equipped to tackle your exams confidently while minimizing stress levels along the way. Remember that preparation is key โ€“ stay focused, keep calm, and give it your best shot! Good luck!

Day 12 (28/11/23)๐ŸŒŸ

Day 12 (28/11/23)

thank you kim mingyu for literally existing

today was a reset day i guess??? obvioulsy i didn't sleep well due to the storm and the wind that literally made my balcony's doors tremble. moreover, my headphones broke so I couldn't cover the loud noises with music or something it was very stressful and I slept only three hours??? then I got up ate breakfast with my roommates and slept again for other two hours.

this morning I tried to drink milk again after few months without it and I can confirm i am lactose intolerant rip๐Ÿ„๐Ÿฅ›

then I did my skincare morning routine (even if i cried a lot during the day)๐Ÿงšโ€โ™€๏ธ, dressed up (even if it was a home-stay day) and I worked on my orthopedics assignment๐Ÿฆด

there's a funny thing about today: i found out my infectious diseases exam is four days before the date i remembered so im basically screwed so my anxiety took over and my brain got STUCK i couldn't even focus on the pages i had in front of me im just so confused and I fear i will postpone the examination for the millionth time ๐Ÿฆ

I don't think I'll be able to study foreign languages till the exam day I will just practice some japanese vocab with apps and apply my usual "immersive" routine for korean (kpop content and journaling. writing is really helping me a lot both with the language and the fact that it makes me reorganize ideas in my mind, i can understand more my feelings,... then i check my sentences with the speaking mode in papago.)

i think im slowly improving my posture but one of my resolution for next year is to improve my flexibility and exercising a lot more. i really want to feel more lively๐Ÿƒโ€โ™€๏ธ

also I should drink a lot more even if it means to force myself sometimes๐Ÿ’ง

so for tomorrow i'm planning to start repeating out loud several topics for my exam i don't know yet if by myself or with my uni friends and i'd like to do a light workout.

p.s. YOU HAVE TO EXPLAIN TO ME WHY MINGYU HAS TO LOOK EXTRA FINE EVERY SINGLE TIME i mean grey sweats the Italia cap... he's doing it for me
