here’s a zine i made (the printed copies look great!!) thought i’d share them here, too!
ENJOY SOME TIPS ON COMIC-MAKING!
heyhey! just letting some people know I really struggle reading "t3xt liek d1z" and "text like this" as I am dyslexic (it's especially bad when they're combined!) and was just wondering if it would be possible to add a translated version next to it for others who struggle reading it please?
eg "1 juzt had a cool azf ha1r day (I just had a cool asf hair day)"
I didn't think of this originally while writing BUT using numbers instead of letters (eg "l1ke" or "lik3") actually messes with screen readers!! so please please please add translations!

Just some Dyslexic Stan scribbles. I do not have dyslexia, and I won’t pretend to know what it would look like! I’ve just seen some examples online. Also, Mabel’s explanation is obviously not fully accurate.
ALSO, I do not believe anyone with dyslexia is dumb. I just think Stan, especially as a child, would believe that the reason he couldn’t read was because he was dumb (likely because that’s what his father would say.) I just wanted to make these things clear!
Star Wars characters with a dyslexic reader
A/N~I'M NOT DYSLEXIC DO I APOLOGISE IF ANY OF THIS IS INCORRECT 😅 LET ME KNOW IF IT IS AND I'LL CORRECT IT.

Luke
He decides to take matters into his own hands. He gets R2-D2 and C-3PO to try and help you with whatever you need. If that doesn't work, poor baby has no idea on what to do to help you with your headaches or to make you feel better. He just likes to comfort you whenever you need it.
Leia
When she does find it amusing that you mess things up, she finds it adorable how you try your hardest to read words out. It's the cutest thing ever to her! Slaps Hans round the head when he takes the piss out of you. If you get sad that he does it to much her and Chewie are the best cuddlers.
Han
He loves it. It's so funny to him and he never gets bored of even the smallest mistakes. There is no way in hell that this man is helping you with anything and he even puts pressure on you to read him out signs or maps or whatever. He just doesn't understand your struggle, bo matter how hard you bite back at him for insulting you.
Anakin
This bitch finds it so funny when you say things wrong and every night he asks you to read for him. He does try to help you and act serious but he can't help but laugh when you get things completely wrong. If you get upset that you mix your letters and numbers up, he will try and be more serious only because you're sad.
Padme
She tries her absolute hardest to help you with reading and getting the correct letters in order. Demands people to find materials or something to help you with reading and fixing it when reading out loud. Overall, she's incredibly understanding and will do anything to make stuff easier for you.
Comes home from therapy and slams new diagnosis on table:
"add another one to the pile boys"
; finding out you're neurodivergent is just an " oh " drawn out and progressively getting louder the more you learn about your neurotype.

i dislike the fact that Frank is randomly neurotypical in canon so my solution is that he’s just undiagnosed and doesn’t know what any of the signs are.
woe 5 minute mspaint doodle be upon ye.
According to this article, there are 8 main types of disability. So to for disability pride month, let's have a poll!
Bonus question, what are your thoughts on this classification?
As of today I am officially dyslexic ᕙ[・・]ᕗ.
I've had to wait 13 fucking years for this diagnoses.
I've been updating my recipe notebook today and I realized, that the reason I started it the way I did was actually due to dyslexia 💀
In the notebook I break down the recipes I find on the Internet into the most simple possible bullet points, because reading the actual recipe while cooking always took a frustrating amount of time (I have literally managed to double to almost triple the time the recipe was supposed to take, just because of reading)
It's sort of fun to find all the ways I've been helping myself with this, despite not having had the diagnosis up until like 2 months ago.
Idk if other fellow dyslexics have this problem, but I've had to notice that conventional spelling programs don't reliably work for me.
They don't catch nearly all the mistakes I make (programs like word or pages for example)
So does anyone know better spelling programs?
I'm about to go uni and I don't know if two mistakes per line will fly there 😬.
You can if you have Dyslexia
YOU CAN'T SPELL PAINT WITHOUT PAIN

I am a woman that is bisexual, who has dyslexia. If you don't know what dyslexia is. Dyslexia is a reading disorder which has 4 types. The one that I have is trouble reading things out loud as well as memorizing some certain words. Which is why I ask people to read out loud to me or I use a reading tool on a computer or phone to read to me. I'm also embarrassed for people to hear the reading tools that are reading out loud to me so that's why I were headset/earbuds most of the time, when I am reading something. And yes, I know it is not October which is when dyslexia pride month is. But I felt like this was the right time to share this to everyone.
Reblog or coment if you relate to this.

Reminder that
Inability to pronounce R is called rhotacism.
Inability to pronounce S is called sigmatism.
Inability to pronounce L is called lambdacism.
Dyslexia is a difficult word to write if you have dyslexia.
And the phobia of long words is possibly the longest word I've come across: Hippopotomonstroses-quippedaliophobia.
Why are people with speech disorders and dyslexia forced to suffer more than they have to?? I hate it here.
Please, please remember:
The term “neurodivergent” describes people whose brain differences affect how their brain works.
It is not only autism and ADHD.
It's many many many things!
Including personality disorders, foetal alcohol syndrome, Downs Syndrome, Tourette's, dyslexia, dyspraxia, dyscalculia, bipolar disorder, Irlen syndrome, and more then I can list here.
If it's your brain differences that is affecting how your brain works...it's a neurodivergence!
This is a PSA...

Please for the love of god, if you have a DNI banner on your posts, make a fucking ID for it. It's an accessibility issue; I have trouble reading certain fonts, so do other people, and there are individuals who can't access your content at all due to visual impairment!
I get it, you want to have that fancy font cuz it adds to the aesthetic. My banners use a hard to read font, too. But you can't just have that without having a plain text ID! It's so incredibly rude and inconsiderate.
Just... put IDs on your posts. It isn't hard: all you really have to do is write out the text on the thing if you're feeling too lazy to describe every detail of it!!

[Banner ID: There's no DNI for this post. However, there's nothing stopping me from blocking you if you're a weirdo or an asshole. End ID]
