Did Stuff - Tumblr Posts

Hot take: If you are posting to r/systemcringe you're part of the problem

"but what if—"

No. Even if they're endogenic, claiming DID without evidence, being "weird", posting too specific flags, a LOT of people posted on r/systemcringe are minors and bullying minors still figuring themselves out is not okay.

And yes, this goes for "TikTok DID" too, even if they *are* faking, they're still people under all of the facades they've made and still deserve empathy (and educating). Anyone who fakes a disorder for clout has issues, and should be seen by a therapist, or kindly informed they're being inappropriate, not mocked to high hell.

"but they're damaging the system community!"

If it bothers you that much, speak to them, KINDLY reach out. don't be an asshole and go behind their backs and post them to a subreddit that gets off from mocking people.

"they're clearly faking!"

Have you done a psychological assessment on them? Mmm, no? Thought as much.

"yea but it's obvious-"

Okay fine, it's obvious in some cases, but do you want to be part of a problem too?

"but-"

....what did I say, it's never okay.

So many systems fear being authentic for fear of being posted upon this subreddit and that's not okay, people will always be assholes but you don't need to perpetuate it.

The only way to stop subs like r/systemcringe is to stop interacting with them.

Asking the system whether they want to use parts language (each alter is part of a greater whole), or person language (we're multiple people sharing a body) is always so funny because this happens

fronter, talking to someone else: yeah, we're all part of a greater whole, don't worry, we're all the same person :)

alter: [screams as if the devil just bit their earlobe] how dare you!!?!??!?! I'm a person!! aND I'M NOTHING LIKE YOU

vs

fronter, talking to someone else: so it's like- we're all individuals- sharing a body, and we all have names and feelings and-

alter A: . . . what are feelings?

alter B: ??? what is a name . . . . ?????

alter C: wdym I'm sharing a body with these imbeciles, ew

alter D: ..aren't we parts of a greater whole, cus the brain split to deal with traum-

alter C: shut up, Jessica.

There's something about having been suicidal since late childhood/early teens that means you get so used to feeling worthless and pathetic that whenever it flares up it's just like 'oh, it's this again - something must be..'.

Or you reflect on the last however-many years and wonder where your life went; where you look at the future like it means nothing and see your progress through a lens of 'I should never have been alive to see this, so why does it matter'.

Where you look back at your childhood self with guilt and shame because you didn't succeed in your goals because you were busy fighting

And it absolutely sucks. But it's okay. You and your system made it. (thinking about that always makes me feel like I'm part of a big family). It's okay to feel. Just please, for the love of goodness, stay. This world needs you. Your system needs you. Your future self needs you more than you know. Breathe. It's going to work out.

If you can live through the hard times once once; you can process it, you've survived hell, and it's your time to feel good again. Know there's evidence (you're still here!) that you're strong enough to live through it. You can process the pain and learn to feel joy again.

The more you find joy in the little things; listening to music, a sunwarmed cat, rainbows, warm bikkies [cookies], seeing a loved one, spending time outside, finishing a little task, craft, learning something new, the list goes on.. the easier it becomes to feel joy day to day.

It's going to be okay. You've already gone through the worst of it, and now you know you've got your system behind you, you're not alone (which is sometimes the issue XD!), but you've got this. Promise.

Sending hugs from NZ 💕🇳🇿

After being suicidal for a very long time, experiencing happiness can be… weird. It may feel foreign, strange, or jarring. You may feel ashamed for feeling joy in the face of your suffering. You many not know how to deal with positive emotions after drowning in sorrow for so long.

If your system is finding yourselves in this situation, we’d encourage you to just take a moment to breathe. You’re not wrong or bad for experiencing joy. Happiness does not have to negate your pain and it will not undo the suffering you’ve gone through. It may be hard relearning to experience joy, but it’s worth it, we promise.

The more you allow yourselves to feel your joy, the easier it will be to feel it again in the future. We truly hope that you will be able to experience happiness again and again and again, with such frequency and intensity that it becomes familiar and second nature to you. We hope your lives will soon be filled to the brim with delight, or at least with small moments of serendipity.

Do you have any DID books? Especially fiction!!

Oh my gOSH I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR SOMEONE TO ASK THIS

AAAAAA, YES!!!!! Unfortunately I don’t have much fiction :(

Books we've read (and now own)

The Girl from the Treehouse & Beyond the Treehouse by Gudrun Frerichs (Women of our Time duo) - fiction, told from multiple perspectives in one body (MC is a DID system). Gudrun Frerichs is a retired a psychologist who worked with DID in NZ

The Girl in the Green Dress by Jeni Haynes & George Blair-West - non fiction

'I didn't know that you're only supposed to have one personality. I didn't realise that having lots of voices in your head was abnormal. But you are protecting yourself. You are protecting your soul, and that's what I did.'

All of Me by Kim Noble - non fiction

“It didn't matter that so much of what they said made logical sense- or that I couldn't find any more plausible alternatives. I didn't have multiple personalities, I just didn't - and that was that.”

Do You Have Any DID Books? Especially Fiction!!

We'll only buy books when we really love them; as is probably obvious by the number of sticky tabs in The Girl in The Green Dress..we've read it a lot.

I swear there were way more but they haven't been noted down and now I'm confused where they've gone 😭

Sub category: Books we read and seriously don't recommend

The Half Life of Molly Pierce by Katrina Leno

Books we want to read

We haven't had an opportunity to read these yet but would like to

When Rabbit Howls by Truddi Chase

Tonee: Life with Disassociative Identity Disorder by Robert Becker

Yet Another Alice Fallen by Clair Itey

Brain Storm: A life in Pieces by Dr Shelly Kolton

The Sum of My Parts by Olga Trujillo

An Apparently Normal Person by Bonnie R. Armstrong

Dear Little Ones series by Jade Miller

Rings of Saturn by Xyloh Yugen

The Patchwork Quilt by J. D. Clark

My Mommy has Multiple Parts by Joh Knyn

We have been working on collecting all our trauma and mental health books into one Goodreads shelf - it's taking a while but here's a link anyway

Feel free to reply or reblog with more recommendations! We’re always looking for more DID books (or just general mental health or just book reccs y'all, hit us with 'em)

*Talks with someone*

*They mention a specific topic/do a specific question*

*You unlock a memory (might be good, bad or traumatic)*

*You verbalize that memory*

*You and that person talk about that memory*

*You two jump into another topic/finish the conversation*

*You forget the memory you just unlock*

*You immediately forget that you had that talk so you also forget you had that memory*

*Circle repeats*

Hating our brain and how it works

When I'm in a crisis that might put the body in a terrible danger they leave me alone in fronte

But when minor stress we switch

Brain I don't understand you at all /neg

It's so strange that the brains works like

"Yeah let's make this horrible and triggering allter front to make us have a random PTSD attack"

and then the brain realize that's hurting us in every way and so it wents like

"Let's bring a whole group of triggered alters to front and cope with this till we dissociate, not stop it, just make it worst till we dissociate"

Fucking brain

Actually yes, at least for what I been reading about introjecting in general psychological context and introjecting in OSDDID context I can say it is because of that

Some definitions easy to find in google about introjection in non-OSDDID context are:

The unconscious adoption of the thoughts or personality traits of others. It occurs as a normal part of development, such as a child taking on parental values and attitudes.

Introjection, one of many defense mechanisms posited by Sigmund Freud, occurs when a person internalizes the ideas or voices of other people. Some mental health professionals believe that introjection is a protective strategy that children employ in order to cope with unavailable parents or guardians: By unconsciously absorbing the characteristics of parents, children reassure themselves that some aspect of the parent is present even if the parent is physically absent. Depending on the types of attitudes that are picked up, introjection may lead to positive or negative effects.

So yeah, introjecting is a coping mechanism of the brain, when you get fixated in some show or media you tend to mimic and introject parts of the media in yourself as a way to understand, act and cope with the external world

If this mimicking and helping is seen as something that is needed for the brain is normal for the brain to make introjects

Basically I just expanded a little bit about how this works, I lazy to do a better explanation lol

I wonder if people who are autistic and have OSDDID are more likely to have introjects because it's so common for singlet autistic people to mimic/mirror others behaviors

Wanted to do something like this so.... I'll give it a try!!

🍄 - how did you get your system name? It was a name I made when we were like... 10 I think?, But I was planning on that when I was like 8. Some random alter discovered those old notes, see the context and almost everyone agreed it was a perfect and unique name for us, everyone liked it instantly except me, the honest, who coined the term

👾 - funniest out of context system quote? "Namelnom is the new plague but with systems" /ij

🎉 - favorite system holiday? Day of the death! (We're mexicans lol)

🌙 - do you have subsystems? We have many subsystems

☕ - what is switching like for you? It's a very strange feeling and process, also it depends a lot in the type of switch because we have different types based in the context of why we switched and how it felt. But mostly it's just like blinking with a fuzzy feeling, and then you're not in the front anymore or just pop out in there

💫 - are there any hobbies you all have? Impossible, but most of us like writing, though it depends in the alter what kind of things they'll write

💾 - what's your headcount? We're a fucking lot, we prefer saying more than 1000 and that's all, we gave up counting because of the horribly big amount of fragments we have

👻 - do your alters/headmates have different voices or speech patterns? Yes we do, the most dominant trait regarding voices is a more depth and low type of voice, although we have one alter that has a very notorious accent and speech pattern... But almost everyone learned to mimic the "base voice" so they can act be me, the host

🎨 - does anyone in your system like art? Starting with the host!! Most of the system frequent fronters like art in one way or another, especially in writing and drawing topics

🥀 - how easily does the system split? I'll say 50/50 because, we do have some resistance to a lot of specific events or stress, but when it comes to something we can't handle and just "idle dissociation" isn't enough or safe we tent to split a lot, normally between 5-20 just for one thing, and if multiple things happen... Well that's a story-

🦖 - is your system fictive-heavy? factive-heavy? neutral? Fictive heavy mostly, factives want to be more predominant but can't yet

🎵 - what songs remind you of your alters/headmates? Well a lot of songs and it depends a lot in which alter do we talk about and which alter is making the comparison

❓ - how much amnesia do you experience? A LOT, amnesia is one of our biggest problems, sometimes we need to go with someone who knows about our amnesia and go like "What's the body's name and age?" because we genuinely can't remember those things, amnesia is horrible TT

🎮 - what do your alters/headmates do in their free time? Mostly do their hobbies. In the most common hobbies or free time activities of the systems are: Writing, reading, watching videos, and sometimes drawing

🪐 - what is headspace like for you? For me as host is pretty fuzzy and difficult to see correctly, I even have a censored version of the visualization because it would make me feel horribly bad if I saw it as it is, is just like... A white space with some random buildings ig?

🍐 - are there any non-human alters/headmates? Like 98% of the system is non-human

🪫 - what do you all do to recharge? Lay on bed and sleeping not always work, being in the cell phone or laptop and just chilling seeing videos is the best way we can recharge energy and, at the same time, lose it

🌧️ - how does the system cope with stress? Mostly through dissociation and switchs, when it comes to other methods are... Not very happy and healthy ones TT

🔦 - how did you discover your system? A psychiatrist told us the most probable thing is that we were a system and gave us medical recognition, after that is all history... /neu

🌟 - do any alters help out with school/work? There's supposed to be academic alters to help me during school but they're too lazy to front, or maybe they're dormant, who knows

🌊 - who are your frequent fronters? Me as the host (Namelnom), Namely, Dian, Daniel, SImply Plural, idk I tend to forget 😭

🎁 - have you ever bought your alters/headmates things? Yes! Even if I was in denial of being a system and ignoring them I tend to bought and ask for things saying "is for me" when I don't have memories of using those things, and if I do, I have emotional amnesia

☘️ - what are your introjects/fictives usually sourced from? Normally collective interests/likes or things that we see, it's not like a most prominent kind of source I think?

💬 - free space!! tell me about something! Idk, this system is wild

system ask meme

🍄 - how did you get your system name?

👾 - funniest out of context system quote?

🎉 - favorite system holiday?

🌙 - do you have subsystems?

☕ - what is switching like for you?

💫 - are there any hobbies you all have?

💾 - what's your headcount?

👻 - do your alters/headmates have different voices or speech patterns?

🎨 - does anyone in your system like art?

🥀 - how easily does the system split?

🦖 - is your system fictive-heavy? factive-heavy? neutral?

🎵 - what songs remind you of your alters/headmates?

❓ - how much amnesia do you experience?

🎮 - what do your alters/headmates do in their free time?

🪐 - what is headspace like for you?

🍐 - are there any non-human alters/headmates?

🪫 - what do you all do to recharge?

🌧️ - how does the system cope with stress?

🔦 - how did you discover your system?

🌟 - do any alters help out with school/work?

🌊 - who are your frequent fronters?

🎁 - have you ever bought your alters/headmates things?

☘️ - what are your introjects/fictives usually sourced from?

💬 - free space!! tell me about something!

It depends...

We have this thing happened in both ways so it's difficult to say at this point lmao 😭

This is the "What came first? The egg or the chicken?" for systems fr

Since we have many introjects of OCs we tend to think about who came first. Did we introject an OC or did we subconsciously know they were here?

Alter existing denial? Nah bro, I'm gonna go with

"I know this alter fragmented to the point he doesn't exist anymore, but I won't accept it and I can't deal with his lost so I'm just gonna deny he's not more here and pretend he still is the principal host"

My fave part about being an actor persecutor host is everyone seeing me and treating me like "Aww you're such a cute, good person, so sad you're traumatized and people broke you" and treat me like I'm a good person who is genuinely desirable and sweet to be around

But when I get enough confidence I became the anti-christ /hj

No one believes me till they see my real face that I try to change and hide from society lol

I want to do it yey

system ask game! send the corresponding emoji(s) & the person who reblogged this may answer the question. :-)

🥀 - do you keep track of your alter count? how do you do so?

🫀 - do you have non-human alters? what species are they?

🍄 - when did you realise you had a complex dissociative disorder?

📻 - do you experience amnesia?

🥩 - who was the most recent split?

🦴 - do you have an innerworld? what does it look like?

🦷 - what’s a fun fact about the current fronter(s)?

💀 - is your system more overt or covert?

🍷 - does your music taste differ from alter to alter? how?

🦇 - do you have any friends with CDDs?

📺 - are you “heavy” with any type of alter? (e.g. little-heavy, introject-heavy, etc.)

this is for traumagenic systems! thank you.

I just realize the reason why I didn't like to investigate or talk about CDD but I used to have that as an hyperfix is because of splitting

I split an alter who was so so fixated on the topic that every friend we have and even in the own system we called them "The CDD master", now he splitted and it's not here anymore, and I fused with some of their fragments and I'm again fixed on this topics

This alter kept my hyperfix when it split... HE TOOK PART OF MY IDENTITY TO FORM HIS 😭

Bro's sucking my hyperfix/special interest

This is just another prove that alters don't make more identities, is just dividing and having less identity distributed in several parts

Thinking about doing a sideblog just for me, the host, to have a more personal like blog outside the collective one

But I don't know, probably gonna end up more lonely than this blog because is very rare for us to get a little bit o attention in this blog

(If we don't count my lovely son who always react to my posts, love ya)
