Fasting - Tumblr Posts
A couple of months ago, I fasted for 10 days straight. No food at all. Only water, some lime juice, and salt. I've lost 7 kg, and I was so focused and energized. I felt cleansed. I was also walking a lot by that time. I was gonna go on for 15 days, but I didn't want to push so hard. I've checked my blood results, vitamins & minerals, etc. Everything was normal.
I've gained so much weight over the last months, so I'm going to be fasting for 10 days again. And then gonna eat only one meal a day. I was eating one meal a day but I am in another country now. I've read lots of articles about it and experimented OMAD for couple months and find the balance like in weekdays, only 1 meal a day and at the weekends 2 meals a day would be much optimal for my health. It's called the 5/2 system.
I like to fast for 20 hours daily and give myself 4 hour feeding window, but I don't think it's enough, so I'm going to give myself 6 to 8 hours feeding window.
The best thing about OMAD is that I'm saving so much time from grocery shopping, cooking, and money. I don't like to eat out that much because I'd like to know what's inside of my food. But when I do wanna eat out I can go to the best places and enjoy my meal.
I'm always trying to use the best quality ingredients for what I'm eating. It's costly, but it's one of the best investments I can ever make for my life.
The mental clarity and resilience I get from this practice is huge. People are like;"Oh, I'm hungry. I'm gonna die!" No, you won't. I know for a fact that I can even go without food for 30-45 days and won't die.(It depends on your body index), I just need water to survive and even for water I can go without up to 3 days or more. I don't crave food anymore. It's just giving me energy, of course I like to eat but it's not so important.
Also, when I don't eat for a long time, I'm looking forward to eating, and every bite I take feels special and more delicious. I mean, thousands of years ago, food was not so abundant like it did now. Our ancestors were not feeding themselves every couple of hours, so I think fasting is really good. If done in a healthy way, of course.
Adopting the habit of earlier first and last meals with a longer period of night-time fasting may prevent the risk of cardiovascular disease.

So sick of cravings. On my 22nd hour of fasting. I will NOT touch food. I won’t.
5 day fast -
The longest time i've fasted was 2 days. Felt extremely light-headed, dizzy, lethargic and had insomnia even though I took electrolytes, multivitamins, drank lots of water and took melatonin. Also did no rigorous workouts even though I usually go 3/4 times a week to the gym and usually burn 1000+ calories there. Only walked 5k/10k steps.
I will be trying to fast once again. I need to see the numbers on the scale go down again since I felt i've hit a plateau even with "maintenance" days.
Will try until June 5th, so around 5 days (i've been fasting for 10 hours alr). Will be doing everything I did last time with the addition of a spoon of salt (or a cup of fruit juice) if feeling very faint. My goal is to reach 105lbs, bmi 17, by Wednesday.
Hope i'm not delusional lmao
Wish me luck!

Make sure to do your research first about fasting! I’ve searched up and I’ve seen people fasting up until 35 days but if you’ve never fast, I don’t recommend you do it right away or not you’ll risk the urge to binge.
fasting
1-6 hours: body burns glycogen
6-72 hours: body burns fat
72+ hours: body burns protiens ( body starts burning muscle, tissue, etc )
1-2 weeks: may die from lack of minerals or heart failure
3 weeks- 70 days: death
( this all may vary depending on weight and activities )
35 DAYS OF FASTING
So I’ll be doing 35 days of fasting starting on24 January, Ive fasted before plus I have self control, I will be posting what workouts i did and body checks, if anyone would like to join me, feel free to message me (if u are planning to fast please please drink LOTS of water,,, as for me, I drink 3 litres a day)

Reasons Why You Need a Fast (Not what you think)
So, for about a few weeks, I’ve been silent on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram, and even put my blog and podcast, on hiatus mode because I wanted to figure out where the hell to go, and what better way to grow.
I made one post, and even added tags just to see what they will do, and I figured out (last minute) that tags help bring attention to the posts on my blog. I should have known to use tags in the past, but now that I know, I will make sure to use tags.
But that’s not point lol.
The point is I needed a break from social media, blog, and podcast because it frustrated me that I wasn’t clear with what I wanted to present. And I felt like I was dull and stale. I’m always about fun and excitement, but I feel like I failed to do that. So my biggest priority is to work on my book while on hiatus.
Suddenly, I had an epiphany. I spoke to my friend about what I’m currently doing, and where I wanted to go, and I said out loud, “I’m great. I know I’m good at what I do.” Mind you, my confidence is so low, to find it you need a map. A huge one. And to say that I’m great OUT LOUD, I was shocked. I’ve realized that my confidence found me.
Just to end this on a good note, I know that I’m starting to understand and acknowledge myself more during my fasting from social media and blogging. And I also learned that I need to look up to someone that’s working on having a better life, and looking at their progress because it shows me that if they can do it, so can I.
Reasons I’ll go back to when I do my fast.
I’m not a foodie so it’s easier than trying to think of what to eat that’s healthy, then enjoying eating it but constantly wanting something sugary : carby to go alongside my meals
Cravings subside
Mental clarity
Destroy those bad cells
Let that belly drop

Hey everyone! I know you’ve been waiting for the next ch for Wanna Play, but I have some news to tell. Basically, I’m sure you’ve all heard of Ramadan before, it’s something that all muslims do in this holy month in Islam, fasting from sunrise to sunset, doing charities, avoiding sins, being respectful, etc. Ramadan has started for some us today, but for others it can be tomorrow. As a fellow Muslim myself, I will not be active much but posting perhaps short proportions (depending honestly) and they have to be sfw- fics until the month is over, so I’ll be inactive for a while but I will be back after Ramadan is over. I also have exams in 2 weeks, so I have to prepare for that as well.
I hope you all understand as this is something I do in my religion. Tysm, and I’ll be posting fics again when I come back!
Just something general to know:
**What is Ramadan?**
What is Ramadhan? Ramadan, Arabic Ramaḍān, in Islam, the ninth month of the Muslim calendar and the holy month of fasting. It begins and ends with the appearance of the crescent moon. Because the Muslim calendar year is shorter than the Gregorian calendar year, Ramadan begins 10–12 days earlier each year, allowing it to fall in every season throughout a 33-year cycle.
(A festival we do after Ramadan)
**What is Eid?**
What is Eid? Eid al-Fitr, (Arabic: “Festival of Breaking Fast”) also spelled ʿĪd al-Fiṭr, also called al-ʿĪd al-Ṣaghīr, Turkish Ramazan Bayrami (“Ramadan Festival”), first of two canonical festivals of Islam. Eid al-Fitr marks the end of Ramadan, the Muslim holy month of fasting, and is celebrated during the first three days of Shawwal, the 10th month of the Islamic calendar (though the Muslim use of a lunar calendar means that it may fall in any season of the year). As in Islam’s other holy festival, Eid al-Adha, it is distinguished by the performance of communal prayer (ṣalāt) at daybreak on its first day. Eid al-Fitr is a time of official receptions and private visits, when friends greet one another, presents are given, new clothes are worn, and the graves of relatives are visited. See also mawlid; ʿĀshūrāʾ.
Thank you if you read this patiently, Ramadan Kareem to all fellow muslims and I’ll see you next month!

My dad: you know, most people on Eid get stomach aches because they eat too much sweet food, so you should take it in stages
Me: yeah, step one: eat everything in the kitchen, step two: feel sick and regret it. Step three: forget about step two and proceed to eat everything in the kitchen. Step four: repeat steps two and three until next Ramadan
on fasting now, the first day was not easy, had to do something to shift the attention for food. felt so hungry in the morning but did feel good to have the feeling of hunger.
I got my first Covid-19 vaccination (Pfizer) two weeks ago and going for the second shot soon. As a consummate hypochondriac who has never had a flu shot or taken any medication for 11 years now, I don’t leave anything to chance. First, I exercised to get my body in supreme form but stopped a few days before the vaccine. This ensured the body was calm and not distracted rebuilding muscle tissue when the vaccine entered the body. Alcohol and OTC pain medication dulls the immune response system. This can result in antibodies that are not as strong. My fasting diet was halted and replaced with three full meals days prior to the vaccine including a nice breakfast a few hours before the vaccine. While fasting is good, when we begin to fast, the body initially breaks down a number of immune fighting white blood cells. I was building reserve fuel so my body had all the resources to build the best possible antibodies as soon the vaccine entered by body. The vaccine process was pretty simple. I was out of there in all of ten minutes. Wow. Did I tell you I hate needles? Of course, I took the opportunity to do some binge eating. I got myself a nice steak, a generous helping of vegetables, fries and bread. Got a large chocolate cake too. Yes, sugar is the fastest energy source. Admittedly it is a dirty fuel but, in this case, it gets the job done. It was only for a few days. I really was tempted to pour myself a nice brandy to get the arm pain to go away. It would have gone down well with the steak. The next day the arm pain was a little worse. More irritating than painful. Again, I resisted the temptation to take some Ibuprofen or Advil. You see pain killers tell the body it’s not that serious. The higher the pain the better your body is triggered to mount a robust immune response and build antibodies that can machine gun any Covid-19 vermin that come its way in the wild. Get plenty of sleep. I took the opportunity to binge watch some movies and eat like a pig. It was rather fun. Anyway, that is the story of a hypochondriac getting a vaccine. But I am looking forward to another round of binge eating for the second shot. Apparently, you get the chills for 24 hours so the thermal blanket is ready. Besides I have my Cinnamon ginger tea which we know warms the body. So, all set.
